I love trying new recipes that I think SO would like! Here''s the latest one I found. Has anyone tried making lobster mashed potatoes? Mmm... sounds tasty!
Lobster-mashed potatoes eh?

I love lobster and I love potatoes...I will check it out and report back!

I forgot the fall favorite:

stone ground mustard and pepper rubbed porkloin, stuffed with maple sauteed apples served with mashed butternut squash/baked sweet potatoes and whatever vegetable I come up with (usually red bell pepper or green beans)

Takes over my day to prep it, but it''s so worth it in the end. (I had a frozen porkloin in our freezer and I got up at midnight to stick it in a pan, rub some spices into it, and let it thaw out, because I have sweet potatoes lying around that haven''t been eaten yet... I''m blaming you Gwen!)

I am the cook and Hubs does not, I think he would say his favourite dish is my stilton chicken with onion marmalade.

WOW...

Some of these recipes sound very very gourmet (and so delicious!).

Too bad we can''t have a monthly cooking club--that would be so much fun!!!

Oh yes, for fall, SO loves my potato soup or one of my seafood chowders... but I only make them in the fall/winter! My gumbo is also pretty great if I do say so myself! (Shhh! I like my gumbo better than his mom''s, but I will never say that to him!) I''m still working the kinks out of my jambalaya recipe. The flavor is good and oh so spicy, but my rice keeps coming out too soft

Trillionaire, I am looking for a good recipe for jambalaya. I made it a few months ago but wasn''t that impressed with how it turned out. I really want something with a kick and this recipe tasted like nothing more than rice and sausage in tomato sauce...it was "eh" at best.

This is the recipe that I used :)

I've used turkey andouille sausage, or smoked turkey kielbasa instead of pork sausage. Other than that, I followed exactly, except subbing some cayenne pepper for hot pepper sauce. It's quite spicy and good, and when I have made it subsequently, I have added a bit of cajun seasoning or old bay instead of garlic salt. I also preferred canned whole tomatoes (more tender)diced and drained so it was less tomato-ey, like you said. I think I used maybe a spoonful or two of the juice. SO really liked it when I made it (two days in a row!) but it's too spicy for kids!

ohh this is a fun one!

My specialties that he loves:

Roasted Chicken breast with stuffing, carrot mashed potatoes (hunny doesn''t eat veggies so I sneak them in when I can!) gravy and biscuits.

London broil, burgundy gravy with twice baked potatoes (with crabmeat and cheese)

Seared Tuna with peppercorn

He also loves my apple pie (I add dark rum to it)

His specialties:

sandwiches, he seriously makes the best!

Chicken and rice

omelettes

Calla18: I''d love the recipe to your apple pie (w/ rum...yummy!

). I am going to take a shot at baking a pie (even with my history!) since I''m feeling adventurous this Thanksgiving!!!

I make a really good chicken pot pie and my bf makes good apple glazed pork chops, we love to cook :)

My sweetie makes the most delicious steaks EVER. I drool at the very thought of them. He''s also the master of the perfectly done over easy egg in our house. I love when he cooks me breakfast!

I cook everything else, and he RAVES about my cooking. Just tonight, I made us a dinner of beef enchiladas with homemade sauce and he all but inhaled them. I can always tell when he likes something a lot, because he usually says something cute. Like, "Wow, do I really get to keep you as my personal chef forever?" or "You know what? This is delicious and your ex was an idiot to give up on this kind of cooking." LOL

Some of his favorite dishes I''ve made:
Parmesan crusted chicken
Pirate stew (MMMMM, ground beef, rice, and veggies)
Pan fried fish
Baked pork chops
Baked Western-style ribs
Roasted lemon/butter/herb chicken
Baked ziti

And let''s not forget the baking! I made about 8 or 10 apple pies this year with fruit from the tree in our yard. They were PHENOMENAL, and FF loved loved loved them. He also begs for my (handpicked!) blackberry cobblers.

God you are making me hungry! So funny to notice how many men are good at eggs/omelettes/breakfast food! LOL!

We almost always cook together, rather than making each other things, but there are a few dishes that one of us takes the lead on:

Me:
Baked goods (although we both do bread)
Thai Food
Roast Chicken (or any other type of meat--K was raised vegetarian, so while he'll eat meat, he's wary of cooking it)
Enchiladas

Him:
Risotto
Pesto
Focaccia
Lasagne

We never go out for Italian food because he makes it so well! Like I said, though, most nights we cook together. We both enjoy it and it's great to have a glass of wine, cook, and unwind.

My BF makes the best Chicken Curry(the meat is sooo tender and wonderful), he also makes a very nice Beef & Broccoli dish. Basically if it involves simmering and rice he is on it! Oh and he''s really good at making sausage for breakfast in the morning.

I make excellent homemade mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, rice crispy treats? I make some good chicken dishes, but it takes me all night, so I hate making it. I guess I''m not as good as my man at making food!

Alright, I''m going to have to ask him what I make that''s good..I can''t think of anything.
