Hi Ladies - just dipping my toe in here. I got a BFP yesterday and again this morning. Based on the date of my last period, I am 5 weeks today, but my cycles are pretty unpredictable so I don't know for sure when I ovulated. A february baby regardless :appl:

We tried for 8 months and started seeing a specialist so this is a great relief! :bigsmile:

ladies -- i have an issue and would love some perspective. I am 7 weeks 2 days today. last week, as i mentioned, i had an ultrasound and saw the heartbeat flutter at 6 weeks 1 day.

however, the last week i have been an anxious mess. I am having another ultrasound on the 15th and don't know how i am going to make it mentally!

I am so nervous that something has happened. i know i can't control it either way, but we tried so hard for this baby and want it to stick around! I also had a day of bleeding two weeks ago (everything is fine) -- that freaked me out! before that, I felt much more positive.....now, I am scared.

i think the biggest problem is that i haven't "felt" pregnant. I mean, i have sore boobs (but even that has lessened some in the past week). But, besides that i am feeling great! am i just a lucky one? i am also on a few medications from my RE that stabilize my thyroid and my glucose since I have PCOS. Could that be why i feel great? because i am leveled out already with the medications? i will talk to the dr. next week -- but in the meantime, I wish I could turn off my brain!

it is driving me bananas! i wish i could just relax and enjoy this time in my life.....but, I am so nervous!

RMFA- I'm right there with you. After nearly two years without a single BFP, and a little medical intervention, I keep thinking that the babies have mysteriously vanished from my body, and that I'm no longer pregnant. We saw the heartbeat flutters at both 7 & 8 weeks, but that only helps me for a day or two after the u/s, then I go back to worrying. I'm 9 weeks 2 days right now, and I only started noticing fatigue in the past few days. I have almost non-existent nausea, and that's only been for the past several days as well. I keep hearing that double the babies, double the sickness, so I worry something is wrong. I have to keep reminding myself that as long as there is no unbearable cramping, and no excessive bleeding, the babies are likely fine.

PT -- that is exactly how i feel! The ultrasound confirmation only kept me calm for about a day.....then back to feel anxious!

There really is nothing to do but wait for the next appointment.....but the mind games are CRAZY!

I am so grateful for a forum where I can share my feelings and someone understands!

Sorry you are also anxious -- but maybe knowing someone else is feeling the same way can bring you some comfort? i know you sharing with me makes me feel a bit better! ;))

When do you go in for another appointment? GL in the meantime, I am hoping all of our little ones are growing well!

PT and RMFA I just wanted to tell you that the worries and anxiety are normal for any pregnant woman, and I can certainly imagine it is a stronger worry when you have tried hard to get pregnant to begin with. I am sorry to say, though, that it really never goes away -- the worry. For me and for other women I know, it does dissipate gradually as your pregnancy progresses and you get past the first trimester. But there is always a risk and the unknown. And that really continues once you child is born too! Being a parent -- from the moment of conception onwards -- is an excercise in blind faith and learning ways to manage the anxiety of uncertainty. So you both are in good company, the company of almost every other pregnant women out there! :))

RMFA -- morning sickness for me in both my pregnancies did not begin until about 8 weeks, that is when it can start for many women. So you are still early for it! If you are lucky, you :)) will escape it utterly. ETA: And PT, my "morning sickness" in both pregnancies was sort of a mild and annoying nausea all day long, which seemed to span 8 - 13 weeks, being its worst from weeks 9-11 or so. Sounds similar to what you have!

Hi guys,
I'm feeling anxious right along with you. I called my endo when I had the positive test and she wants a thyroid test 'as soon as possible' and for me to come see her urgently. I did the blood test this morning and will see her on Tuesday.
I wanted to wait to tell my husband until Saturday because it's my birthday and we're heading out to the mountains, but I'm terrified that I might miscarry before then and he won't get to experience any of the happiness.

I wanted to tell him using a little onesie that I made - we got pregnant on our honeymoon (3 years too late) in the Netherlands. I made it this morning but in typical me fashion, I totally forgot to have the print place make the words reversed (although I would think they should have thought of that too for something printed on transfer paper.. anyway). so it looks kind of silly. But I don't want to waste more time/money on it.

sorry you are feeling so sick brown eyes- some things that have helped me with my last pregnancy and this pregnancy is room temp ginger ale/ ginger tea (or anything ginger), sour lemon drops, and peppermint candies. They also say motion sickness bracelets work and to eat several small meals a day versus a couple big ones. not sure how far along you are but ususally nausea decreases or ends around 12 wks. hope you feel better soon

BTW pumpkin- i love the onesie! so cute!

congrats lucy.lucy - how old are your other little ones? I think I remember you from the other time around :)

browneyes: lucy has good suggestions but the key is to give in to whatever you are craving/wanting to eat - don't worry about weight at this point. For me it was citris (fruit, candies, juice), ginger ale, things with alot of flavor. I did stock up on saltines but those didn't work wonders on me. I kept eating small meals which helped. Luckily I just had nausea, nothing severe and no sickness...

Yes, this was me too. I have all day icky nausea feeling for about 4-6 weeks in btoh my pregnancies :knockout: but never puked thank goodness and could still function. For me all I wanted to eat was carbs and fatty things like muffins or pizza :rolleyes: and eating consistently through the day made all the difference in the world to me.

If it gets really bad, there is safe medication you can take! You doctor can prescribe it for you.

UPDATE!

Hi everyone -- I had my appointment and ultrasound yesterday. I was 8 weeks 1 day and saw a very strong heartbeat of 183 bpm!

We are beyond ecstatic! :appl:

I "graduated" yesterday from my RE and will start regular appointments with my OB next week.

Still feeling cautious....but much more relaxed.

We plan on telling our families on July 2nd at a BBQ. I will be a bit shy of 11 weeks, but am feeling good about that timing.

Still feeling really good....but, I now know for sure things are happening in there despite my lack of symptoms, so now I will just choose to feel grateful.

How is everyone else?

I was pretty active on the TTC boards in Spring 2010. Early last summer, we found out we were facing serious MFI issues and had several consultations with REs. In January, we decided to take the leap and pursue IVF/ICSI. I had my procedure in May and I'm super cautiously excited to report I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant!

I definitely didn't expect it to work, and I half still don't expect that the pregnancy is viable. It's a HORRIBLE thought to have, I know, but I was just so shattered by the bad news last summer that I can't believe it could really happen. I never thought I would see a positive pregnancy test ... never. It can't be real!

I'm due to have my first U/S on Monday (I'll be 6w5d, so hopefully we can see the h/b). Then, I'll see a high-risk OB on Tuesday. As part of this process, I found out that I have Factor V Leiden, which adds a whole other slew of complications to the mix. I've been on daily Lovenox shots and baby aspirin, and I pray that I will be able to maintain this pregnancy.

Congratulations ladies and thanks for being my friend through this process!

RMFA, Congrats on the 8wk appt!!! Hooray! Healthy heartbeat is always encouraging. And don't feel bad about worrying again, I guess it's only human. And you're growing a little human inside you too. Big responsibility.

Krissie, BIG CONGRATS on the positive pregnancy!!!! Huge news and it's awesome! I'm wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months.

I don't have much info yet except that my B-HCG is around 4000 - discovered when I had bloods done to try and work out if I was ovulating or not because I hadn't had a period after 8 weeks off the pill (and very very irregular long cycles before the pill). The HCG was an add-on after my E2 and P4 were found to be sky-high!

Have no idea of dates. Maybe 4 weeks or so? But HCGs are so wildly variable. I feel nervous even posting here!

Hi everyone!
Figured I'd join the party. I got my BFP last Saturday! I am so excited but also more scared and anxious than I ever expected to feel. It's so surreal and I think I"m afraid to believe this is actually happening. We had an appt at the doc yesterday to just talk things over and take some blood. The pregnancy will be officially confirmed on Monday and I may need to go in for more blood (to see if #'s are doubling). We made our first ultrasound appt for 6/29 which should put me at a little more than 6 weeks. I hope we get to see the heartbeat.

Symptomwise, I've had cramps that go from mild to moderate. Those started two days before my BFP and continued to two days ago. I'm sort of sad that there going away b/c I feel like that was my clue that something was happening. I keep taking tests to remind myself. No sore boobs, no nausea really either. I am pretty tired but that's such a hard thing to measure.

So, that's my story for now. Sending you all big congratulatory wishes and looking forward to going through this with you all! Hope everyone is feeling good!!

Marlie, Pancake and LC, I know I said congrats in the TTC thread, but a big congrats again. Hopefully more of us in the TTC thread will be joining soon so this thread will be just as lively! :)

Krissie, after all you've been through I have no doubt you're expriencing some anxiety. A friend of mine who went through IVF said she spent the entire first trimester waiting for the other shoe to drop--she wishes she could have relaxed. I hope you are able to enjoy this without too much worry...as time goes on, I have no doubt it will be easier!

Pumpkin Pie and Brown_eyes, how are you ladies doing? So sorry to hear about the nausea, Brown_eyes. I've had a couple of friends who had all-day nausea...one claims she survived on sour patch kids.

RMFA, congrats on seeing the heartbeat, that must warm your heart!

Blackberry and PT, not sure if you ladies are still around or if you've moved onto the other thread, but sounds like your pregnancies are going well!

Just saying hello because it's Friday afternoon and I'm bored at work--I promise not to crash this thread before I'm even pregnant!

AFM - counting from my LMP I'm 6w2d today. I had my first appointment yesterday. She drew blood to look at my HCG and progesterone levels (which I was not expecting to do) and both were great. I go back for another draw on Monday and we're also doing our first ultrasound Monday. DH and I are beyond excited and hoping to see a heartbeat! As for the nausea, my doc gave me some different pre-natal samples to try. One has extra B6 and seems to maybe be helping today. The nurse said the nausea is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy, but I have a feeling she was just trying to make me feel better.

looking forward to this thread getting busy and sending healthy pregnancy dust to all you lovely ladies!

Browneyes - you poor thing with the nausea! Do you find it weirdly reassuring though? I had not a care in the world until yesterday when I found out I was KU, and since then I have been worrying that I don't have "enough" symptoms of pregnancy to reassure me that everything is going ok! I have sore boobs and I was having pelvic cramps for about 10 days but those are settling now. I don't have any nausea at all but of course this is different for everyone...

I am kind of envious of the ladies who know their dates. There is such a massive range of HCG-for-gestation that it's a bit of a stab in the dark for me! My repro gynae though maybe around the 5th week, but looking at the ranges it looks like I could be anywhere between ~4 and ~7 weeks!

Just wanted to pop in and say congrats to the new mamas :) Also, for nausea, I found that preggie pops really helped a lot! Plus they taste yummy :) They have them at babies r us or you can probably just google them and get them online, only a couple bucks for instant relief :)

Marlie, symptom free is OK by me right now. Especially since we'll have 9 months of symptoms to "look forward" to.

So even though it's early for me, I'll start posting with you wonderful ladies. Based on my LMP, I"m 5wks +, but I have really long cycles, technically only 16DPO, so I'd say about a week behind development-wise. I called my OB's office for an appt, and was originally set for July 1st. But that would only put me at 6wks (on the dot) development-wise, and I really didn't want the additional stress and worry of measuring small/possible miscarriage/nonviable pregnancy etc. Especially since it took a *WHILE* for my DH to be convinced that we're actually pregnant. If he goes and hears all this uncertainty, I think he might back away again.

No symptoms yet for me. I think I'm getting "preggo-nose" I can smell stuff that Sis and DH can't smell. E.g. paint fumes in our office/second bedroom/nursery. Yeast baking from a bread baking facility near our house. No nausea, I had some a few days ago, but I think that was just car sickness (or well, bus and train sickness). No heartburn. I've been getting tired around 3PM, but that might have more to do with going to bed late than being KU. All-in-all I'm feeling pretty normal, sometimes I even forget that I'm pregnant.

Anyway, so yesterday we went out to dinner, I guess a mini-celebration. DH started barreling down the path of the really hard/impossible stuff, like daycare, etc. But then he backed off and said he's really excited. He's nervous because it's such a life changer, and he won't be able to have the same flexibility that we enjoy now (working late, sleeping in, driving vs commuting on the train). But this is something he really wants and can't wait to be a dad.

Alright, ladies! I just got my BFP this weekend, so I'm officially posting in this thread now. I'm so excited (and nervous!) to be here!

So I've been testing 2x per day since my first positive at 8dpo (I'm 10dpo now) and the test line is progressively getting darker, which makes me feel better. Also, I'm still having cramps, which actually makes me feel better since it's my only real symptom.

That being said, I'm having a really hard time balancing my excitement with my fear that the embryo might not make it. I'm over the moon about the BFP, but I'm afraid of getting too attached, if that make sense. So that's honestly the biggest issue right now. And it sounds like most of you ladies can relate.

Has anybody told close friends/family? I told my parents, sisters and two close friends, but asked them not to say anything to anybody else. Even telling them was hard because they'd scream and get really excited (which is cute) and then ask me how excited I am and I'd respond with "We're really excited, but cautious because it's SO early." I think everybody thinks I'm a Debbie Downer about it!

D is being really cute and protective of me. It's sweet.

I'm calling the doc's office in the morning to talk about the next steps. I'm not sure if I need to be on a prenatal Rx--and I know there was one test that my ob/gyn wanted me to do before getting pregnant, but my insurance didn't cover it until I was pregnant, so she might want to run that. My plan is to just keep testing with cheapies, though :)

NEL, Still grinning about your BFP. I'm like you too, about worrying the embryo doesn't stick. I actually keep calling it "scientific" terms in order to "not get attached" if that makes sense. I told DH about my worry of not staying pregnant, and he said he's not worried about that. If we do then that's great. If we don't then there's nothing that could've changed the outcome, and he'll still love me even regardless. It helped hearing him say that, but of course, easy for him to say, he's not pregnant.

DH and I had preliminary discussion of names. Not actually comparing lists, but saying what we don't want. Well, mostly for boy names. He said he has been thinking of a few names, but they were just girl names. He didn't say if he had a list or not. I suspect it's a spreadsheet. He's such an engine'rd. :))

I've told my sister, and one friend. I want to tell my brother but he hasn't called me back yet. DH will tell his parents next week when he goes down to visit them. I honestly don't want to tell my parents at all, but I suppose I'll tell them when I tell everyone else. My folks are very much in a tailspin/mushroom cloud of a divorce and is just ***so*** much negativity there. Don't want to touch it with a 10ft pole.

This weekend we went to a street festival (basically outdoor drinking in my city), which normally would be a perfect excuse for me not to drink since I don't drink beer and most of the time that's all they serve at those fests. Except this one we went to, they actually had wine, and sangria, and sparkling. Luckily the friends we met up with don't know me *that* well so they didn't say anything when I didn't drink booze.

I told DH that he is only allowed to drink beer because I'd never drink beer anyway. Anything else, not allowed. I told him I need to come up with some tasty non-alcoholic beverages to imbibe this summer. Normally I'm a chilled white wine sittin' on the porch gal. But I think I'll whip up some watermelon lemonade for starters. I saw a rhubarb drink too that I want to try. Then last but not least I'm thinking something with berries + squeeze of citrus + simple syrup + soda. What can I say? It's gotta be fizzy. Sis is so sweet she said we can hit Costco and buy a case of Izze pop. If you ladies haven't tried it you TOTALLY should. :lickout:

LC, I am doing the same thing with the "scientific" terms. Occasionally we call it "the nut", but for the most part I just refer to it as the embryo. As much as I try to distance myself, it's not working so far! Since we found out on Friday night, we had the whole weekend for it to sink in and we're both just so excited.

Isn't it funny how girls names seem to be easier to choose from than boys names? As you know, we'd love a boy, but really struggle with the name issue. If it's a girl, we're all set--there are a couple of girls names we both like. The boys names are tough!

I'm so sorry your parents are going through a messy divorce right now, I wouldn't want to touch that with a 10 foot pole, either. I hope that when you do announce it, both of your parents are really excited and can forget their anger for a split second.

Haha, I love how your husband will also have restrictions on his drinking :) Is he mostly a beer drinker, anyway? I like an occasional glass of wine or beer, but not often, so that part is easy. The watermelon lemonade sounds delicious, though. I've been in a lemonade kick for awhile now--I love it in the summer.

So I just talked with the doc's office. They told me that so long as I'm getting positives on my pregnancy tests, there is no real reason to come in. I lied about the start of my cycle so that my ovulation date lined up with their pre-determined calendar of the female reproduction timeline. It worked out really well--the nurse said I should come in around 7 weeks for bloodwork and scheduled me in mid-July, which would be 6.5 weeks (with my fake start date). If my levels are high enough, they'll schedule an u/s.

Everything else is going really well. D is being so adorable. I honestly thought he'd be more freaked out...and he was for the first couple of hours. But now he keeps telling me how happy he is. It's really cute. And he keeps insisting on doing everything...but not in a bossy way, just in a genuinely sweet way.

I am still testing 2x per day and the test lines are still getting darker, which is assuring for me. I'm still temping, too, and my temps are still very high, so that makes me feel better. I'm trying to remain as stress free as possible!

NEL, Decaff tea! You're so good. Today I made to only 1 cup of tea (normally I do two), but I should really get decaff I suppose. Well, at least I don't need to hit the Indian neighborhood to buy MORE tea since I'm on a caffeine restriction now. I was all set to do that this weekend, but now I don't have to. I make chai every morning (homemade, WAY better than store bought), so I'd be sad if I had to give that up.

DH is an everything drinker, but he got more into wine after hanging around me. I told him he CANNOT drink wine in front of me. This totally sucks because I **just** replenished our wine stock in May-June. Our wine fridge malfunctioned in March and skunked all the gorgeous wine I had collected (about 8 bottles worth). I was on a wine-buying moratorium until May, and I went on a shopping spree! And now, I can't drink it! :(

And speaking of shopping spree, I also did some retail therapy shopping spree last month and I won't be able to wear a lot of it now. Ah ha! I told myself (and in the TTC thread) that Murphy's Law was going to strike! Well, I have one dress that I want to wear before I have to give everything to my sister. I really *really* hope I don't have to give away my shoes. I have at least 2 pairs that I **love** but if they go to my sis then I'll be OK with that.

I've stopped taking HPTs now. But I'm still temping. I think I'll stop today though. I wanted to get to 18DPO and now I have. My temp dropped down .5 degrees (from 98.8 to 98.3). I don't want to take temps anymore because they said that your temps go all over the place during pregnancy, and I think I'll be driving myself crazy. I'm just going to count on not having a period as the sign I'm still pregnant, since I have no symptoms yet. Well, bloating.

I've noticed that I'm not having my regular bowel movements (BM). Normally I go once maybe twice a day, but my digestive system has gotten really slow after my BFP. I started feeling kind of uncomfortable yesterday, like really bloated and "backed up." I finally had a normal BM this morning. Is this normal? Should I kick up the fiber or something? I was thinking I'll pick up some dried prunes or something to help keep me regular. i despise yogurt so I'm not going to do Activa or anything like that.

LC, I swear I kept meaning to mention your shopping spree. I'm not a shopper, either, and I went on a shopping spree earlier this spring. Apparently shopping is the best way to guarantee a BFP, haha. I'm going to keep wearing my regular clothes for as long as I can. I know it's a first-time-mom thing to buy tons of maternity clothes and wear them ASAP, but I'm going to resist that!

And I don't think you need to give up your tea at all--I'm not much of a caffeine, drinker, either. So when I was getting tea yesterday I just grabbed a decaf box instead of a regular box. I don't think a cup of tea is so bad, though.

I only have a few Wonfo tests left. Then I have some Dollar Tree tests. I think I'm going to cut down to testing in the mornings, haha. Once I get to 18dpo, I think I'll go to every other day or maybe less. And I'm also only planning to temp to 18dpo, which is another week for me. I agree...it's not worth the stress to temp after that.

And finally, for your TMI question, I"m definitely experiencing the same thing. I don't know how much of my bloat is from constipation. I can't believe I'm talking about this, haha, but want you to know that it's definitey happening for me, and actually, has been happening during my TWW. And I've read it's normal!

Okay, brown_eyes, marlie, other JBP ladies, where are you? Pancake, I know you didn't post in this thread, but I'm thinking about you!
