"Just Barely" Pregnant PS''ers

Re:

Sha, congrats on your pregnancy! Fantastic news!!! It's great to have so many BTDT moms around :) Has this pregnancy felt any different for your last one? Does D understand what's going on yet?

NEL, Oh no! Sorry Bo is at the vet! I can't believe there's people fishing in the doggie area! Sis and I took our pooch to the doggie beach this morning. But now Quizas has to pee every 30 mins because of all the water she swallows.

Pancake, so sorry about the M/S. Ugh!!! It's little comfort to know that the peanut is happily growing while you're feeling like crap, but do take some comfort.

MQ, welcome to the thread!

Parrot, are you SERIOUS about some lady with crazy perfume?? That's insane! I mean, HELLO, you're walking into Preggo Land! Talk about inconsiderate! Glad you're avoiding the M/S camp, but yikes about the gag reflex.

Krissie, happy birthday! I haven't watched that show. Hope you picked out an awesome BR dress. :)

Marlie, sorry you're feeling so out of sorts. Congrats on the U/S and heartbeat!

Katy, how are you doing? ANy more shopping? :)

AFM, we told my ILs this weekend. I was over the phone, and DH was there. He said they didn't say much but they were *really* happy. His mom had a HUGE smile. His dad didn't understand what the announcement was at first, but then when he did he kept saying congratulations over and over again. :) I told them I'm not telling my folks yet, so hopefully they didn't slip when my mom was driving through to visit with my brother. My brother knows and my sister does too. But that's it in terms of my family. Other than that, I've been hit with ZERO symptoms. I told my DH it kinda makes me nervous, but htere's really nothing we can do so I'll just keep on keeping on. Until our appt that is. Ack, the 25th seems SO FAR AWAY now...

Re:

thanks guys! And a big CONGRATS to all the other newly preggo ladies on this thread! :appl: I meant to say that earlier in my post to pancake but it slipped me. :P

lliang - this pregnancy is pretty imilar so far, except that I had spotting at 6 weeks this time around, and I seem to be having less morning sickness as well. The last time I think ms hit at about 7/8 weeks. Nothing much so far yet. We'll see. I praying everything is still ok.

Your IL's reaction was so cute! Sounds like they were really happy. I hope no one spills the beans to your folks so that you can tell them they way you want to. I bet they'll be so excited! By the way, 6 weeks is pretty early to be having symptoms. I had no symptoms at 6 weeks both last time and this time. Of course, everyone is different and some have symptoms sooner. But it's totally ok not to have symptoms at thispoint! :))

Re:

Sha - we are contemporaries! How exciting... Your due date must be Feb 13 as well? My birthday is the 12th and my husb's is the 16th - talk about clustering!!

LC - your ILs sound totally stoked! We still haven't told my ILs yet...still hmming and haaing about telling them tomorrow if my first appointment is ok.

NEL - you poor thing (and poor Bo!), sounds like you are having a really torrid time early on with the nausea :( I am finding that small, carb-loaded snacks are helpful, but really it's just miserable sometimes isn't it?

AFM, my MS is fluctuating, yesterday was bad, this morning was good, this afternoon I feel a little less good. I have my first antenatal appointment with the obstetrician tomorrow afternoon, which will finally answer all my paranoid questions and hopefully kill off some of the medical permutations of worst case scenarios that have been going through my head.

The intermittent symptoms are kind of doing my head in! i just want to know if things are ok in there. Fingers crossed!

Re:

Hooray Sha and jas! So good to have some people with EXPERIENCE around here! Teehee. It's a little reassuring to hear you talk about symptoms and everything else since you've BTDT. :))

LC - Love that your ILs were so excited! It's getting so hard not to tell my parents, but I only have a little over a week left, so I think I can make it. Sorry that you don't have any reassuring symptoms, but maybe you'll be that annoying one that has one of those fabulous pregnancies where she feels sooooo great the whole time and doesn't know what on earth the rest of us are complaining about!

NEL - I did some looking around this weekend too, hee. Not for bella bands - I think, not being a super thin girl in the first place and being a little heavier than I'm comfortable being, that I probably will be able to wear my usual clothes through the first tri, unless the bloating gets even worse, please god no. ;)) My parents are supposed to give us my old nursery furniture, and really when I can get it for free I have no business buying any, but all the stuff in the stores is sooo niiiiiiiice!!!!! So not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous ;)) Sorry about the nausea, and about Bo. Hope everyone is feeling better today!

pancake - Sorry about the intermittent nausea, but I figure if it's happening at all, it's probably a good sign! I hope you have a wonderful time at your appointment today and the doc can ease some of your worries. K

Krissie - Hope your birthday was super fun :)) I love BR, glad that you treated yourself to something pretty!!

PT, lucky you for avoiding constant nausea, but the easily triggered gag reflex doesn't sound much more fun. I can't believe that lady at the doctor's office!! I can't wait to see the little bean once it starts to resemble a baby... do you get more ultrasounds than the rest of us cause of your twinnies?

MQ, so glad you're here! How ya doin?!

AFM, 5w5d here! Boobs are sore enough that when I take off my bra at night it HURTS! And I cannot get enough sleep for the life of me, I took a nap every day this weekend and I am NOT a napper!!! Other than that, things are just rolling right along (I hope!) I don't have any nausea yet, yayyy... but it's early yet, so I'm not getting smug about it ;)) Not having an US until the 13th is driving me crazy! I just want to know everything is okay in there so I can feel good telling my parents about it. Still haven't come up with a good way to do so other than just calling them to say "Hey! Totally preggers again and I think it'll stick this time!"

And I have resisted the urge to buy stuff, hahaha. I browsed a little this weekend, but I'm really hoping to cut down on the "stuff" that comes into our house. I hope to encourage people to buy us books over toys so I can have a full and exciting library for the lil' one. We have my old nursery furniture (or will), and we will get the nursery painted as soon as our basement-dweller moves out in the next month or so. He has a piano in the room that will be the nursery, which is the only reason it's not painted ALREADY! Then we can also move the kitty litter to the basement, and the room will be empty and ready to go.

So... not much else to report! Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Re:

Katy-So happy to hear things are going well and you're feeling OK! One thing to remember when accepting old furniture, make sure the crib isn't a safety hazard for LO (if you're getting a crib). Drop sides, wide spaces between slats, etc are things that existed 20+ years ago but aren't permitted today.

Re:

Hey everyone!

Dunno if it was the pregnancy, coming back from a long weekend, or just getting to bed kinda late (midnight) but I was SO TIRED today! Oh well, I'll chalk it up to midnight bedtime and the long weekend. Tomorrow will be better, hopefully.

Katy, awesome you're getting your nursery furniture for free, pretty much. I echo HH's suggestion to check if the crib meets safety standards of today. You will still get to buy stuff (carseat, strollers etc). :)

Pancake, yup totally know what you mean about the intermittent symptoms. How was the appointment?

NEL, thinking about you for your appt this week. :)

~LC (6w, 5d)

Re:

HH and LC, thanks for looking out for my bean!! I'm well aware of all that jazz, and it's definitely a drop side crib, but my handy dandy family is going to make sure that we attach several brackets (or something) to make the drop side completely sturdy and not-drop-able. And I'm pretty sure the rails meet safety standards, but if it turns out that they don't, I will probably end up getting new furniture, because let's face it, baybee is too important to take crazy risks with. :)

Re:

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome! I am just over 4 weeks today, feeling great. Hoping for an easy, healthy, and happy 8 months ahead. Hubs and I decided to tell our immediate family about the pregnancy as soon as we saw everyone in person. It's the first pregnancy for us and will be the first grandbaby for our families, and they've all been circling like sharks since our wedding eight months ago, just waiting for us to drop the good news. :wink2:

We told my brother he was going to be an uncle on July 4th over a delicious steak dinner at our family lake property. He was ecstatic! We stopped at my parents' house on the way home from the Lake for dinner today to tell them that they were going to be grandparents. I dashed into a Target before arriving and bought a cute newborn sleeper and a card. I put it in a bag and filled out the card with:

To Grandma and Grandpa-
Can't wait to meet you!
See you in March!
Love,
Baby R______
xoxo

Mom's immediate reaction was to give the two of us huge hugs and kisses, and then shout to my father, "OH MY GOD I am going to be sleeping with a grandpa!" Daddy kept calling her "Granny" all night. We celebrated with a lovely dinner and a swim in the pool, and the boys had cigars and whiskey. Looking forward to sharing the joy this week with friends and family from out of town and with my in-laws.

Still need to make my first prenatal appointment for early August. The BabyCenter Due Date calculator gives me a March 12 delivery date, right around the birthdays of my father and his mother. We're having a leprechaun! Will check in again soon, busy week ahead!

Re:

Katy - glad things are going well for you! I kind of held my breath over the weekend whilst all you State-siders had the holiday and didn't post as much, I worried a bit! The sore boobs is kind of annoying, hey? I like to sleep on my tummy and it is quite uncomfortable some nights!

LC - the tiredness is amazing, isn't it? I will just suddenly have difficulty staying awake and it comes on seemingly at random (well, the evenings aren't random, but the daytime episodes are!). Everyone says that the energy comes back in the second trimester. I am looking forward to that!

Mannequin - your parents' reaction was priceless! Cute way to tell them, too :)

AFM - I had my first antenatal appointment. My obstetrician is supremely relaxed and a very genial chap, I think we will get along well. It was nice to see his approach and how he was so relaxed and unconcerned about things, very reassuring. The bean is now 1.7cm long and measures exactly as it should for the dates I got on my last scan. Heart is pumping along nicely. My husband thinks it looks like a peanut. I think it looks like a frog. All is well - phew!! Obstetrician said that it all looks "robust".

We told my in-laws tonight. The Mama J jeans that I bought arrived today and we took them around to the in-laws' after the appointment. Husb showed them to MIL and said, "Hey, Pancake got these new jeans today". MIL: "Oh, they're nice." Husb: "They have these stretchy panels at the front, see?" MIL: "What for? [looked at me] Do you NEED them?!!"

Re:

Pancake--Nothing eases the mind like an appt. where the ob tells you everything looks good! That will at least carry you through the next few days before any worrying starts again! I'm so glad everything looks good and robust!

MQ--what a cute way to tell the family! This will be extra special for your parents since it's their first grandbaby! Now your family is going to be checking in on you all the time!

Katy--with so many baby-related things to buy, it's nice that at least the furniture is covered! And how sweet of your family to make sure the crib is extra safe and up to par! I'm totally with you on the sore boobs. Last night I slept with my bra on and I think it helped. Maybe I'll buy a soft night-time bra or something.

LC--I have to admit that I'm super jealous that you're still relatively symptom free. Well, except for the tiredness. That really does kick your butt, doesn't it? Last night I was really excited for the Teen Mom premier (bad TV is a guilty pleasure), but I fell asleep as soon as it came on! Grr, that happens to me all the time now!

AFM, I'm pretty much nauseous all the time now. I'm going to go out tonight and buy everything I possibly can to help because I'm so tired of feeling ill. Right now I'm sipping on Ginger Ale and eating a few pretzels in hopes it will help. Every night around 3 a.m. I wake up and stumble into the bathroom thinking I'll vomit, then just lie on the cold tiles for awhile. The commute is awful because I'm worried about vomiting on the train. The good news is that by dinnertime, I'm okay enough to eat dinner.

A coworker commented on my larger boobs yesterday, so now I'm trying to wear tops to conceal any growth in that department. I guess I never thought about that tipping people off.

Okay, I'm off to a meeting and am somehow going to have to get through a lot of work this morning. Blah!!

Re:

Hi all...
I'm scared and could use some honest feedback and/or reassurance. Up until this morning I was feeling super nauseous. To the point where it woke me up in the middle of the night and I'd have to eat some crackers or something and I'd spend most of the day basically drooling b/c I have so much nausea inducing saliva (ew, i know). Most of the day was nausea filled with little pockets of relief here and there. Well, today I woke up and am feeling somewhat ok. Not really nauseous at all which is scary. Of course that led to me pushing my boobs to make sure they were still sore...and they're not. So, now I'm panicking. My symptoms seem to be disappearing which is freaking me out. Is this a bad sign? My next US is next Tuesday and I don't know if I can survive until then. I saw the HB last wednesday and I'm trying to remind myself that this is a good sign but I can't stop all of this nervousness! I can't think of anything else but this right now. So scared.

I'm 7w2d

Re:

Marlie - try not to worry yourself too much. I've been nauseated every day and I too had a day of relief with no sore boobs (and of course I was worried). I was back to feeling nauseated the next day. Try to enjoy the relief and not worry. Symptoms can ebb and flow.

Re:

Marlie, I understand the worry, we ALL do it. The same thing happened to me on Saturday--I had been feeling nauseous, but then on Saturday I woke up feeling just fine. I told D that I was a little worried and he told me that it was a sign from the heavens that I should enjoy the day. We ended up going up to Maine for lunch and really enjoying the day! I'm glad we did, because Sunday morning I woke up feeling sick as usual. I'm not sure why symptoms sometimes fade, but they do and I hpe you don't worry too much about it!

Little update on my nausea situation because it's funny: after my meeting this morning I decided I needed to find ginger candies. The financial district in Boston is close to Chinatown and since I work in the financial district, I figured I could hop on over to Chinatown and find some good ginger candy. But it's so hot today and half way there I started feeling even worse, so I just bought some ginger from a street market, then ran over to TJ Maxx for a grater/shaver and am now sipping on ginger in hot water. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Re:

Oh Marlie, I'm sure you are fine. I came out of lurkdom to give you a hug! This EXACT thing happened to me, but without the nausea at that point. My boobs were sore sore sore nonstop, then for a day it was back to normal. I didn't sleep that night. I resigned to the fact that I had lost the baby. My baby is alive and well and even spit up down my back a couple of hours ago. :cheeky: So hard to say at this point, but try not to worry. Symptoms really do come and go!

NEL -- I never found ginger to work for me. It does work for some people though. I'd ask your doc for some Zofran. That helped me a little.

Re:

NEL, wow sounds like you're really getting hit with the MS. You poor thing. Maybe you can ask your OB for something to help? Is it debilitating or just highly annoying. Kinda weird a coworker commented on your boobs. Maybe I just think it's weird. I don't think my boobs are much bigger, but definitely feel heavier. I'm normally a larger chested gal, so I always sleep with camis that have a shelf bra. Otherwise I suggest getting those stretchy bra-lettes (You see some ladies use it for yoga). It's much more comfy to sleep in.

MQ, what an adorable way to tell your folks. I'm so happy your family is so excited. We'll also be the first grandchild in both our families too. Probably the only one(s) in both our families.

Pancake, so glad you had such a good appt. It's very reassuring to hear the doctor say everything looks terrific! So cute you MIL was surprised. :))

Marlie, take some deep breaths. The body is a very adaptive system. It's probably getting used to the higher hormone levels, which is why you get some temporary relief sometimes. You saw the HB last week things are going well.

Krissie, how are you doing my friend?

RMFA, how did telling the family go this weekend?

Brown, are you feeling a little better? I hope you are, friend.

BB & Parrot, dunno if you ladies graduated to the big preggo thread yet but :wavey:

AFM, still not feeling much in terms of symptoms, so pretty much keeping on. DH got back from his trip yesterday. We have a somewhat busy schedule for the rest of the week. So staying busy until then.

~LC (6w-6d)

Re:

thanks for the reassurance everyone. i'm trying to think positive but i admit i can be a wee bit neurotic and this pregnancy is making that side of me come out big time. you all did make me feel a lot better and i'm a lot calmer now. (plus, i think the nausea is creeping back in a little. :cheeky: )

LC...glad to hear things are plugging along and going well!

NEL...hope you are feeling better with your makeshift ginger concoction. desperate times! and weird about your co-worker/boob comment. i'm a small chested girl myself who has grown quite a bit in the last few weeks and so far the only one to notice was DH (he's pretty happy about it!)

Lanie...thanks for coming out of lurkdom to put my mind at ease. i so needed that virtual hug you gave! it's so reassuring to hear from all of you ladies that you've been there and that i'm not completely psycho for freaking out this AM.

Brown...thanks! glad to know i'm not alone in this on and off symptom camp.

pancake...so gald the doc said that things are going well with your peanutfrog! i love how you told your in laws too. very cute. their reaction is hilarious.

MQ...yay for telling your parents! what a great way to do it and their reaction was perfect. so cute!

Katy...hope you are doing well!

afm...well, you guys pretty much know my scoop. i'd be lying if i said i was 100% relaxed and calm about it but i'm definitely in a better place than i was this AM. just trying to hang on until my next US on the 12th when i'll be 8w1d. hoping to get to hear the HB (last time we saw it but it was too early to hear it) and see a good pic of the nooglet (that's what DH has been calling our baby and the name is starting to stick). anyway, one day at a time, right?

Re:

Wow! so many additions to this thread! I am really excited about having such a great supportive group of ladies to go through this together!

Sorry I don't have time right now to address everyone individually -- but I have read through the thread. So sorry for those of you experiencing a lot of m/s. That has to be the worse feeling having to go to work and hid your symptoms! Hope you get some relief. And fo those feeling good -- i understand the anxiousness. I still am feeling great! and there have been periods where I have been extremely anxious because of it. However, the baby is growing and happy.....everything can be fine, even if you feel good!

AFM -- we told all our families this weekend. I told my parents on the phone and they were so happy! My mom cried. They are really very excited. My in-laws -- we were able to tell everyone all together. We wrapped up bibs for my mother and father in law and they opened them together. My mother in law immediately started screaming! She was beyond ecstatic! it really was a great moment and a memory my husband and I will remember.

Also, I am still feeling really good and am 11 weeks today. Still hate anything fish or seafood related -- but besides that can eat almost anything. Am still craving fruit non-stop. And have had some pulling/stretching sensations over the weekend. i think it was being out in the heat and humidity. i rested and drank water and then felt fine.

Hope everyone is doing well -- i am excited for my NT scan next Wednesday 7/13. Can't wait to see the baby and make sure things still look good!

Re:

Marlie - I have the psychosis too. On Saturday I woke up feeling grand, no nausea and my boobs felt fine. I spent all day obsessively pushing at them to see if they were tender again (I know, I know) and eventually I even managed to get my husband worried! Then everything came back with a vengeance on Sunday. 24h of revolting horrible hypersalivating nausea, and then now it's more or less gone again. I was worked up into a right state and then I had my appointment yesterday - everything is well! The coming and going thing is normal, but it is just really hard to deal with. Hang in there. I am your sister in psychosis. Actually, neurosis is a fairer term. I love that you called my bean the "peanutfrog". That may well stick!

NEL - you poor thing!! My mum cooked me ginger chicken the other night because it's good for MS  Are you trying the frequent high-carb snacking thing? When I have bad days I definitely find it's worse when I don't eat. Ondansetron/Zofran is a good option if you are vomiting all the time, but it is expensive. Re the boobs - I can't believe a workmate would comment on that!! I wear fairly drapey/non-fitted clothing but my boobs are definitely a bit bigger too. Am wearing my bigger bras most days.

LC - I am glad you are still feeling so well apart from the tireds! How exciting for both of your families - this pregnancy must be golden to them! This is the first grandchild on my side and the 2nd on my husband's - we have a 6 month old niece in the UK.

RMFA - So glad things are good for you! I have the fruit craving too - just a shame that it's the depths of winter here in Australia so fruit is relatively boring at the moment. Sharing the news with parents and in-laws is really fun, hey? 11 weeks... things are motoring along for you. I am always just a little bit envious of those who are further along than me

AFM - it is 6:30am here and I have been awake for an hour. Getting a bit frustrated with this early waking business although it does make the day easier to get started, especially when I have nausea. We have bought a new bed (latex! With a remote control base that goes up and down in places!) which is arriving next week and I'm hoping that will improve at least the quality if not the quantity of zzzzs I get. We spent yesterday evening in high excitement after our appointment and my husband has taken to referring to me and the mini-one as "you two". It's now 4 weeks until my NT scan (booked for 12 weeks 2 days) and I am not sure how I can get through a whole 4 weeks of waiting - I haven't even been aware of my pregnancy for 4 weeks up till now!!!

The Mama J jeans are lovely - SO soft. They run big though, if anyone is considering them. I actually bought a size DOWN from my usual J Brand size and I don't think I'll be able to wear them without them falling down until well into the 2nd tri.

Re:

So, here's my bit of advice regarding symptoms, which I've learned over the past few weeks: they come and go, and that's normal! After my u/s last week, I had days where I didn't feel pregnant at all (and convinced myself I wasn't), and two days where I was SO crampy and bloated and generally blah in terms of mood. The only constants for me are sore sideboobs and elevated heart rate ... and I'm 9 weeks today.

I've been lurking on some multiples boards, and the people in early PG who say they just "know" it's multiples astound me ... how could they know, when there are days I don't feel pregnant at all despite Baby A and Baby B being alive and kicking? But then again, every pregnancy is different! I've really only felt nauseous a few times (no vomiting, mainly food aversion) and was SUPER tired from weeks 4-7.

I'm back to being cautiously optimistic! Had my final appointment with my RE today, fully expecting to hear bad news after last week's appointment, but Baby A is hanging in there! In fact, A is now measuring 9w1d, whereas B is 9w0d ... wow! Now I don't have an appointment until the 19th, with an OB (not sure if she will do a scan - I will be 10w6d) and then I'll do the nuchal translucency scan at some point between weeks 11 and 13. I make the big move on August 7th to the west coast. The next month is going to be CRAZY - I hope the time flies by! After weekly ultrasounds, waiting almost 2 weeks will be difficult :o I was so emotional to get my "discharge" from the RE and just have to trust that everything looks as it should. The best news is I get to stop my progesterone shots now!!

Re:

Krissie - I am SO happy to hear that things are looking good for both your twinnies now! It must have been so stressful for you the last couple of weeks with all the other upheaval going on too and the fact that the news is encouraging is just wonderful.

Re:

Krissie - So happy to hear the good news about both babies doing well! :appl: I'm so excited to have someone else on these boards having twins at about the same time (I'm 13 weeks 2 days right now).

Re:

Krissie, so happy both babies are doing so well! Good luck on your move. Hope it goes smoothly.

RMFA, so awesome about telling your family. That's fantastic! Sounds like your symptoms aren't too bad, except for the food aversions. But craving fruit is a nice healthy craving :)

Pancake, those jeans sound like a great buy when you'll be ready to wear them. Hope the new bed helps you get some quality snoozes.

AFM, haven't done much in terms of working out the past week plus. But went on a long walk with sis and the pooch. I'll try to hit the gym tomorrow PM with Sis.

~LC

Re:

NEL Keep some soda crackers by your bed and maybe a can of ginger ale too and snack on them whe nyou wake at 3am! Blood sugar is a major cause of nausea, so even if it seems gross, eating in the middle of the night will help. I used to drink a glass of chocolate milk at midnight most nights when pregnant with HUnter. You can also try a preemptive strike and have a snack before bed to keep the sugars level through the night.

Re:

Krissie, I'm so glad the news is good about Baby A! I was thinking about you yesterday and was going to post asking how things were going, but I didn't want to pry if the news was bad. I was so relieved to read your update, it really made my morning!

Dreamer, thanks for the advice--while at Trader Joe's last night, I picked up some whole grain pretzels to keep on my nightstand. My plan was to eat a few at 3 a.m. when I woke. I did wake up at 3 a.m. again (to pee), but I wasn't as ill as I usually am, so I skipped the pretzels. I wish I hadn't, because when my alarm went off at 6 I felt sick as usual. I'm going to take your advice and have a snack before going to bed, then another snack at 3 a.m., even if I'm not feeling ill. If I can just find a way to manage the nausea, that would be fantastic.

LC, glad that your husband is home!! And thanks for the sleeping boob support advice. I slept in a cami last night instead of a bra and that was comfortable. They were still supported without an underwire digging into them.

Pancake, the new mattress sounds amazing! And thanks for the info regarding the mama J jeans. I know 4 weeks sounds like a long time, but I'm hoping it will pass quickly! It definitely gives you something to look forward to!

RMFA, so glad to hear that you're feeling good! And the bib idea for telling your parents is really cute! How many times in your life to get to share such exciting news?? I just think it's so much fun.

marlie, how are you feeling today?

brown_eyes, sorry to hear the nausea is continuing for you. Hopeully you'll turn a corner soon!

PT, not sure if you've moved over to the regular preggo thread yet, but I'm glad everything is still going well for you!

MQ, Katy and Sha, how are you ladies doing?

AFM, I'll be happy when this week is over :). I think more coworkers are on to me because they passed out shots of gin in a meeting yesterday and I had to make an excuse as to why I couldn't have one. While working at a laid-back agency is fun most of the time, right now it's kind of a pain in the butt.

My first appt. is tomorrow and I'm so excited. I'm still not sure if they'll do an u/s, but I might beg.

6 weeks today!

Re:

Krissie - glad to hear the babies are ok!

pancake - I'm glad you had a great appt and got to see the bean! It's so reassuring , isn't it? :)) Yeah, our due dates are pretty close. I think my doc said February 12th. Valentine's Babies!!! :)) There'll be lots of celebrations at your house if baby comes on its due date! :appl:

pancake and Mannequin - Love the cute stories about telling the fam!! :D It must be so exciting to see their reactions! :D

marlie - I'm sure you're ok, too, but I understand the nervousness. How are you feeling today?

RMFA - how nice that your folks were so excited! So cute! Yeah, I hated fish/seafood last pregnancy too. Couldn't have enough fruit!!

NewEngland Lady - Sorry about the constant nausea. (Are you sure you dont' have two in there? :) hehe...Joke!) I hope you get to see the bean tomorrow! Don't they usually do an early ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy? My doc does. It's really cool to see (you might be able to hear the hearbeat too) so I hope you get that experience tomorrow.

I'm also not feeling many symptoms. Some slight queasiness here and there, but that's about it. I checked my Belly Journal from last time and I think my nausea really kicked into high gear at 9 weeks - before that I had queasiness from 7/8 weeks. We'll see what happens next week. The only other symptoms I'm having is SUPER TIREDNESS in the evenings (can't get anything done) and slightly sore boobs.

(8 weeks 4 days ?)

Re:

Ah, you are all so sweet! I am so glad I joined this group - sure beats all the other "due date" boards on the internet!! Plus, we all have good taste in jewelry

I booked in my nuchal translucency exam, as well as my first visit with an OB in my new city - that is such a relief - I go the day after I arrive! Now I just have to sit tight til my first OB visit. You ladies who have to wait a long time for a scan are so strong - I've been spoiled by going every 1 - 1.5 weeks. How do you keep yourselves occupied?

(I should be occupied by finishing my job, putting the house on the market, etc. lol!)

Re:

OH, I wanted to add that last night I had some light pink spotting - scared the cr@p out of me! Called the RE today and they said it's most likely due to the transvag. ultrasound they did yesterday. I never spotted before, but I'm more pregnant than I was before, and the cervix is pretty sensitive. Just wanted to share that supposedly light pink = nothing to worry about, in case any of you are going through this too!

Re:

Krissie - the spotting is so scary, isn't it?? I started spotting/bleeding from 3 days after I found out I was pg, and kept going for 2 weeks - only just stopped mid-last week. I'm glad that you were reassured and the timing sounds like it was related to the ultrasound. Phew! You sound like you are all sorted (obstetrically speaking anyway!) for your big move.

Sha - Timezones notwithstanding, we are due at the same time! It would be pretty funny if our peanutfrogbean arrived on Valentine's Day, as that cuts exactly 2 days on either side of my and my husband's birthdays (12th and 16th). It sounds like you definitely do have symptoms, just mild ones... that is probably the best compromise, no? To have some (for reassurance) but not too severe (so as not to interfere with your daily activities too much) :)

NEL - that is tough with your co-workers and the gin! Hopefully they can be tactful enough to keep a lid on their speculations. I have had the possibility of pregnancy suggested to me a couple of times when I've been tired at work... I just dismiss it and laugh but I still wish that people wouldn't speculate!

LC - I admire your relative enthusiasm for exercise. The most I am currently capable of is getting out of bed, getting through my workday, and then not passing out before dinner :D I am hoping for that 2nd trimester "bloom" of which "people" speak.

AFM - I managed to sleep until 6:30 this morning, only woke up once during the night. Nausea hit within 10 minutes and I made my husband get up and make me toast :D Feeling fine now. My main problem is really the drowsiness, especially at work - it is a real struggle to get through the afternoons at the moment. I told my brother and sister last night. They're very excited! (or - my sister is very excited; my brother is his 19-year-old male version of excited)

Re:

Marlie - Glad you are feeling a little better and are looking forward to your US. I am scared and nervous and excited too, and being a newly pregnant lady I would also feel worried like you were.

NEL - I am doing well, thanks for asking. Sorry to hear your nausea has been a problem. Hope the 3 am snack suggestion works for you! Your first appointment tomorrow - yay! I have a few weeks to wait for mine.

RMFA - Sounds like you had some great reactions to your good news! We have a Detroit Tigers bib gift to present to my hubby's father, who is a huge baseball fan.

Pancake - "you two" made me LOL. Hope the new bed helps you get some rest, and yay for telling your siblings!

Krissie - Wonderful news about your two little ones. I am so happy for you and the babies! Hope that they continue growing and thriving in the coming weeks.

Sha - Hope you are doing well! Funny that you should mention a journal - my mother just gave me a pregnancy journal yesterday!

AFM, I am just about 4.5 weeks and feeling great. No unusual symptoms or cravings, boobs are a bit sore but manageable. I made my first doctor's appointment for August 1st, and it is late in the day so Hubs can go too. Baby's first checkup - SO excited! The poppyseed and I went out for some run/walk intervals this afternoon, and I spotted TWO little pieces of pink ribbon on the sidewalk in TWO different places. Signs of baby girl twins???? LOL I picked up one of them and brought it home, because you never know...

I met my mother for lunch yesterday and some shopping, and she couldn't help but look at baby stuff everywhere we went! Even though I won't know what we are having until later, she bought a beautiful baby girl outfit with a pink and white rosette bum cover and tank that has "R is for Rose" on it. Rose is my last name, and it was too cute to pass up! I'll put it aside for whenever a girl comes along. Mom also bought a cute set of bibs for Baby. It was so much fun seeing her get excited over everything. I bought a "One Lucky Kid" shamrock onesie at Children's Place on clearance since I am due in March, and I picked up a few fun things to use for announcing the pregnancy to my grandmothers and my husband's parents. Details on those plans to come... :)) Mom also gave me an adorable pregnancy journal at lunch, and said that she bought it a year ago and was waiting to give it to me at the right time. It's just like the one here: http://www.amazon.com/Confessions-Cravings-Contractions-Hallmark/dp/B0012NYD66. I can't wait to start filling it in month by month.

I will be gone for a few days of camping and parties, so I wish you ladies a great weekend. I will be looking forward to reading your updates soon!
