"Just Barely" Pregnant PS''ers

Re:

Thanks for all the support, pancake, NEL, and LC!

PhG, I guess I was lucky that I wasn't chastised for calling the after-hours line without a true emergency. Hope you can get the rest that your body is asking for - and yay for feeling more normal!

Prana, welcome and good luck to you! I am also new to this thread. I just got my BFP on Tuesday at 12DPO, which was 3 weeks and 5 days according to when FF told me I Oed. I just hit 4 weeks and 1 day today. My EDD is 4/19/2012, so we'd be really close! I also had some really early cramping/symptoms, almost immediately after I Oed, which I had never noticed before. My story is over in the Official TTC thread, in case you want to compare charts or stories.

AFM, I was finally able to call my OB's office in between my conference calls to get the Prometrium fiasco sorted out. It turns out the prescription was called in correctly - oral capsules to be inserted vaginally! The NP said pharmacies call them back all the time to confirm that, because they don't know any better. They still didn't have my HCG result back yet, but the NP promised to call me as soon as they have it. I'm hoping to hear a big number today!

Prana, very exciting!! I remember feeling like time CRAWLED when I was around 7dpo. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get good news this weekend. I'd probably keep testing, I got my BFP at 8dpo. Lots of dust and luck to you!!!
Thanks NEL!! Yes, time is crawling. All I do is google early pregnancy symptoms and implantation bleeding and how soon after I can test haha. I'm becoming mental!

I won't stop testing. I'll never stop testing. I'm too impatient. Every time I pee I feel like it's a waste if I'm not peeing on a stick :cheeky:

Hi S&I !! I read your post on this thread yesterday and I noticed that we are right at the same timing with everything. Except I'm thoroughly jealous of you because you've already gotten positive results!! You must have ovulated much earlier than me. I have roughly 28-33 day cycles and I believe I ovulated a bit late this month. I'll go find your story in the TTC thread because I'm all about over analyzing every last bit of detail and information these days :D

I was the exact same way about over-analyzing and wishing and hoping I was feeling "something"! FF (Fertility Friend, in case you don't use that as your tracker) says that I Oed on CD14, but I might be inclined to think that I Oed on CD15 instead - a big difference from the cycle right before this one, where I didn't O until CD25! I tested really early too, and then felt silly about it when it was always a BFN, but I guess not enough to stop me from testing again in 2 days. :naughty: Good luck, and hope you get your BFP soon!

Re:

Quick Update: I just got my results from the NP because I called again. HCG went up from 39 to 84 in 48 hours, so she said it looks good, but it's still really early. I'm 15DPO today. She said my OB hadn't reviewed the results yet, so they'll probably call me back after she does that, in case she wants me to do another beta next week or something. I think I can relax and enjoy the weekend with my sister and her husband now! They just happen to be in town from New York this week.

Thanks for all the sticky dust and support, ladies!

Re:

S&I, how fantastic that your numbers (more than) doubled, that's great news! And I'm so glad that you got the oral/suppository thing sorted out, though I can understand the confusion by the pharmacy. I'm still keeping everything crossed for you, but this news is good news!

Prana, I was the same way about testing. Between the various OPKs and then the pregnancy tests, I think I was peeing on sticks 80% of the time while TTC. But I didn't really get discouraged with BFNs. And it's okay to analyze symptoms, that's just the way some gals are--I was definitely the crazy lady analyzing everything. I had cramps and sporadic heartburn as early symptoms, though I never really believed in early symptoms prior to that. Anyway, DH thought I was crazy, but I kept saying "I'm pregnant, I can tell". I hope you get your BFP soon!

Re:

S&I, yay for good news. Enjoy your weekend!

Prana, hoping for a BFP for you! I'm somebody who did feel symptoms before my pregnancy was due, but twice when I felt them, they disappeared suddenly and I got my period on time. If you are somebody who can tell when you're pregnant as soon as fertilization occurs, then all those chemical pregnancies that other women don't ever know about will be on your radar. I am not trying to be a negative nelly at all, just to tell you that I absolutely believe you can feel symptoms this early, and the suspected implantation bleeding is a great sign! I guess I just wanted to warn you that if it doesn't turn out the way that you want, that doesn't mean that you are crazy or reading your body wrong or anything like that. AFM, I start burping like crazy around 10DPO. Nice, huh? Lots and lots of dust for a sticky bean in there causing all these symptoms!

Re:

Wow! Alot of action on this thread in the past few days! And some new faces!

S&I - welcome and congrats on your BFP! Sorry about the early scare. Seems to me that when people go in for blood tests or ultrasounds too early they are often left feeling a little anxious and unsure about how sticky their little bean is. Your numbers doubled, so that's a good thing! Try to relax and enjoy this time!

Prana - so excited that you think you are pregnant! I'm hoping you get a BFP soon to make it official!

PG - so happy that you're feeling better! Finally! I hope it continues to improve for you.

LC - so glad that your numbers came back with such a low risk! That's great! And can I just say that I'm jealous of you ladies with so much paid maternity leave. I get 6 weeks at 60% through my STD insurance. You and NEL have it good!

NEL - your NT scan is just around the corner! That's so great! I'm also glad you're starting to feel better, I hope that continues! (wow, that was alot of exclamation points....)

Pancake - so great that they are happy to save your project for you. I'm sure that was such a relief.

Katy - Exciting that you're so close to spilling the beans! I would have a hard time keeping my big mouth shut for so long!

MQ - sorry you came back to so much work to do! Hope you get it all sorted out soon.

Marlie - yay for getting your NT scan done! Sorry they didn't let you enjoy the heartbeat longer. Good luck tomorrow with the bachelorette party. I hope it's a bearable night for you and that you're able to enjoy some of it.

AFM - I had another appointment yesterday. I maintained my weight, which I'm excited about, because I had been losing. We also got to hear the HB, a strong 152. My OB said that everything is looking good, but she is making me fax in a list of what I eat every day so she can count calories. I have to send it to her every friday.

Other than that, not much going on, but I think this will be my last post in the JBP threat :(. I will miss you guys, but can't wait for you to join us over in the big girl thread!

brown_eyes (14w1d) <-- wow, you guys should have kicked me out a long time ago!

Re:

Hi everyone! Welcome, S&I and Prana! Sticky bean dust for you two! :wavey:

PG - a big WOO HOO for feeling better! Glad to hear you are doing well and I hope you are able to continue being more active. Exercise really does help me with the preggo fatigue - I feel like I have more energy when I am done with a work out.

LC - Great test results! I am glad you are going to pursue the midwife option as a better fit for your prenatal care. The OB/GYN practice I am using has four docs, and the one I see regularly does not have a great bedside manner. Fine for that yearly checkup, but maybe not so great for all these baby-related trips. I am going to wait and see how things progress and then maybe change docs later if needed. I hear you on the night-time bathroom trips, too - I am better now, but over the last two weeks or so, I was up to pee at 4 am. You could set a watch by it!

pancake - I am crazy jealous of your vacation. Rome is on my bucket list!

NEL - Excited to hear that you are feeling much better! I have major carb cravings that come and go right now, too. I am trying to balance nutrition as much as possible, gotta force myself to grab fruit or a cheese stick instead of carbs sometimes. Glad you have your maternity leave figured out! I will need to get that arranged as soon as I go back to school.

BE - Glad that everything went well at your appointment! I will be heading to the big thread soon, after my next appointment. Looking forward to joining you guys there.

AFM - Well, the hot water heater was finally fixed last night. *PHEW* I had to resort to using the garden hose in the backyard at one point. The camping trip went pretty well. We had a really horrible group of neighbors the first night, but thankfully they left. Saw a young deer playing in a lake at sunset and did a lot of hiking and fishing with my husband.

I am 9w4d and still feeling really good. My next appointment was bumped up to 11 weeks, so I am excited to see baby again soon. Yesterday, I went to put on a pair of denim capris and had to resort to a hair tie to keep them up because my little belly was too puffy. I also was not fitting into any of my jeans very well, so I bought an inexpensive stretchier pair to hopefully get me through for a bit (Denizen by Levi's at Target). I am waiting to purchase my fall back to school wardrobe as long as possible, because there are too many summery clothes on the racks still. I am hoping to use some affordable plus sized clothing instead of the more expensive maternity gear when I can.

I also bought a set of pregnancy fitness DVDs from Target. There are four in the set from Lindsay Brin, founder of the Moms into Fitness website. Three of the DVDs have trimester-specific workouts, and the fourth is a post-baby bootcamp. I tried the first one today, and it was really good. Not too intense, but enough cardio and toning to make me feel like I had worked out. I am going to add this on some of the days I do not go jogging.

Lastly, we have baby furniture! My mother spotted an amazing deal for a Glenwood 3-1 crib and changing table at Menard's of all places this week. My parents picked up the crib, table, and a mattress today for a whopping $167.00! It's a pretty cinnamon colored wood and will be nice for a boy or girl. I've been looking at a really cute neutral chocolate and sage bedding with fawns, squirrels, and birds on it, and I think that would be adorable with the crib color. Now that there is furniture purchased, I feel like I really need to get moving on organizing the mess in my office so it can be cleared out, painted, and converted into baby's room. It currently looks like a hoarder's paradise.

Going to a Kid Rock concert tomorrow night with friends. Should be a long day, as there is a big all-day block party going on near the stadium for the show and we are supposed to go to that, too. Wish me luck. Hope you all have a great weekend! Will check in again soon!

Re:

Thank you everyone for the sticky dust!

I still haven't had a BFP (It's still too early, but just a few more days should do the trick). I really think that I'm pregnant. I don't know how to explain it, but it's just a feeling I have mixed with all the symptoms. I'm still cautious, though.

I'm starting to overanalyze this implantation bleeding now. It started as light pink when I wiped at 1100 PM on wursday night. I'm still having it today, it's dark brown. I see it when I wipe, and I'm needing to wear a panty liner to save my knickers. It's not a lot per se, but I want it to go away now. It's only increased slightly since I first noticed it Thursday night, but it's now making me a little nervous.

What is considered normal for implantaion bleeding in your experiences?

PhoenixThanks! Yes, I definitely wonder if I'm making stuff up at times, but I definitely feel things happening that I don't usually feel, and some things that I've never felt before. An increase in gas being one of those things :D

NEL I told my DH last night that I thought I was 4 weeks along, but hadn't gotten a + yet. The look on his face was priceless. He can't understand how we could be successful on our first attempt haha. But he also is very cautious. He doesn't want it to turn out wrong and get upset, and he also doesn't understand how I could possibly know without having a BFP.

Re:

Thanks again, NEL and PhG!

BE, thanks! I do regret going in to get my first beta so early. I didn't know what the normal protocol was with regards to timing of the betas. Yay for maintaining your weight and for hearing the strong HB! I would hate having to write down everything I ate everyday, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

MQ, thanks! Yay on getting to see the baby at 11 weeks again, and for the awesome deal on the baby furniture! Any new baby bump pics yet?

Prana, how many DPO are you now? I was feeling all sorts of things that I wanted desperately to be PG symptoms. When I still had a BFN at 10DPO, I even told my DH that it would be such a waste of this cycle if we weren't PG, since I was feeling so many things going on down there. I've read that implantation bleeding varies from person to person - anything from light spotting to almost period-like bleeding! I didn't have any implantation bleeding at all. Good luck!

AFM, it turns out that I had an allergic reaction to the Prometrium suppositories. I took the first one yesterday morning around 11AM, and another one around 5PM. I was going to do the third one right before going to bed, but I broke out in an itching frenzy all over my hands, toes, and BBs. I called the emergency line again last night past midnight, and the on-call OB called me back immediately. She told me to take a benedryl, and not to take the last one. This morning, she called me back to tell me she was calling in a different prescription for the compounded version to see if I'll tolerate those better. I'm not waiting for the pharmacy to call me when it's ready. The OB warned me that because the drug is compounded, it probably won't be covered by my insurance, so I have no idea how much it'll cost. I have to call my regular OB on Monday to discuss where we should go from here. At least I'm not spotting anymore, right?

Hey- I'm only 8 or 9 DPO. I think I ovulated either the 3rd or 4th, so maybe 10 DPO depending on when. The spotting I'm experiencing is sort of coming and going, sometimes it makes it to the panty liner, sometimes it's just when I wipe. I just want to know for sure already!!! Maybe tomorrow AM or Monday AM will be the golden day. That's if everything goes according to our wishes. THIS IS LIKE TORTURE! I hate not having control :D

Re:

S&I, sorry about the reaction to the suppositories. I hope your pharmacy was able to give you the option your doctor suggested. Thinking about you this weekend.

Prana, time truly does crawl whenever you want it to just pass already. Hoping for a BFP for you. You should be able to test in a few "short" days.

~LC (12W, 2D)

Re:

Prana, you should be close then! Keeping my fingers crossed for you to get that BFP soon! Hope your spotting stops too. I forgot if you mentioned whether or not you're also charting your basal temps. If so, I hope they continue to stay high!

LC, thanks! I was able to pick up the compounded Progesterone 100mg suppositories today from my local Peoples Pharmacy not too far from our house. I only got a week's supply (14 suppositories) to test my reaction to these. I've only taken one about 4 hours ago, so we'll see what happens. My hands are still a bit itchy, but they were that way before I tried these, so I think I'm still getting over the Prometrium. I am planning on calling my regular OB first thing Monday morning to discuss all this and hopefully have a better plan in place.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Re:

Wow, lots going on in here!

Prana - welcome, I hope you are here to stay!

S&I, sorry these first days have been so torrid! I am relieved for you that your bloods looked reassuring, and I hope the new formulation of progesterone agrees with you better.

Mannequin - lots of baby-related goings on for you hey? Exciting! Glad you are feeling well, embrace it!

Brown_eyes, well done on the weight maintenance! And YAY for a healthy heartbeat!! Fingers crossed your tummy is starting to settle from here on.

LC, NEL, PG- I will see you all in the big preggo thread! I'm ready to transition now :)

Me, well - I am beginning to show a little now! Have definitely filled out over the last week and with it I am starting to get reflux and I digestion...so I need to modify the way I eat a bit, ugh. Apart from that, oI think things are going well! My pre-preg jeans are now uncomfortable whe done up fully, although almost all still do button, I think it's that the waistbands are now actually compressing things on the inside (fundus is now well above hipster line of pants) rather than the pants being excessively TIGHT, does that make sense? Frustrating though as I'm still not quite big enough for maternity pants. Hoping my Bella Bands arrive this week! Have started stocking up on elasticated maxi skirts as they are probably the most comfortable and versatile bottoms as we head out of winter and into Spring here.

See you in the big thread, all! It's been truly grand :)

(13w6d)

Re:

S&I, I can't believe how much bad luck you've had--I'm so sorry you're allergic to the suppositories. I really hope the new ones go over better!

Prana, thinking of you this weekend and still keeping my fingers crossed for your BFP!

Re:

Thank you ladies!

Unfortunately, everything I was feeling was a trick of the mind. The spotting turned into the wicked witch last night ;( . That'll learn me to think I'm pregnant before getting a BFP! I was so so sure...never felt stuff like I was feeling these past two weeks.

I am a little worried though, because our timing was pretty good, and we definitely made sure we covered all possible timing gaps. So I hope nothing is wrong. I'm gonna read through the TTC thread so I can start to relate to those ladies and feel a little more confident that it's OK if it doesn't happen the first time.

To make myself feel better, I'm considering myself 1 week pregnant now with my period. We're just gonna keep on truckin'!

Thanks for all your support, I hope to be back in this thread once I do receive my BFP!!

Good luck to everyone!!

Re:

Prana, I'm over in the TTC thread and just happened to come upon your posts. We've all been there. When you really want to become pregnant, you start paying attention to every little thing, and your mind can play tricks on you. Don't feel bad about it not happening after one month. There is only something like a 25 % chance of it happening every month. You'll get your BFP soon!

Thank you MP! I've started to pick through the last couple of months worth of postings over there. Thank you for your kind words!

Re:

Prana, sorry to hear that! I definitely recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. And I absolutely wouldn't worry about it not happening in just one one month. Here are some statistics to put your mind at ease: http://www.babymed.com/getting-pregnant/what-are-the-odds-conceiving-conception

*There's a 15 to 25% chance of conception each month.
*40% of couples will conceive in the first three months; 70% in the first six; 85% in the first year. So only 15% of couples take longer than a year; there's no reason to worry after only one month.

I absolutely felt pregnant in my third month of trying for #1, and then it just disappeared and I got my period on time. When I conceived my daughter two months later, I had the exact same symptoms (only this time I knew I was pregnant). So I really think that first one was a chemical pregnancy. The same thing happened this time around, trying for #2. The first month of trying I got the same old symptoms, but they disappeared and my period came on time. Month three I got the symptoms again, I got a BFP 5 days after the symptoms started, and now I'm 11 weeks. A lot of fertilized eggs don't implant properly or have something genetically wrong with them, and there's nothing you can do about it. But it's definitely possible your body was picking up on the hcg from one of those eggs in your body. Time will tell when we see how you feel in subsequent cycles.

Rest up, and enjoy the TTC process. If pregnancy happens too fast, then you don't get to have as much fun! :naughty:

Re:

Prana, sorry about AF. But you guys just started trying so that means you get some more fun time, like PhG said. That was my favorite part.... Hope to see you back here soon.

S&I, glad you were able to pick up the different scrip, and that it was covered by insurance. Hopefully it'll be OK. I hope your OB gets back to you tomorrow.

Re:

Thanks again ladies! I will definitely look into that book...a friend of mine has it as well and she said it taught her quite a bit. I hope to be back here sooner than later!!

Re:

Thanks again, pancake, NEL, and LC! I will definitely keep you ladies posted after I talk to my OB tomorrow.

Prana, so sorry about your AF showing up! I would definitely recommend the TCOYF book and hopping over to the TTC thread. The ladies there are very knowledgeable about everything TTC-related. You definitely have nothing to worry about after only trying for one cycle. The average is 6-12 months. Good luck!

Re:

Prana, I'm so sorry about AF. I think every woman on this board is familiar with the disappointment of her showing up when you really, really wanted to be pregnant. I think TCOYF is a great book and makes you feel empowered about TTC. I hope you enjoy it and that we'll see you here soon!

Re:

Hi ladies!
S&I...I haven't officially congratulated you yet!! So exciting! Sorry the beginning has been stressful but I'm glad you have the new prescription. Good luck today at the doc!! Keep us posted!!

Prana...So sorry about AF. That just plain sucks! I am rooting for you for a BFP next month!!

MQ...so glad you are feeling good! I'm a little jealous of how productive you are though. I think you've inspired me to get my lazy butt in gear!

Brown...i think you are officially in the other thread so I'll probably catch up with you there but glad to hear you're maintaining your weight.

PG...SO happy that you are starting to feel better. Hoping that continues!

LC and NEL...I have to catch up on you. I can't figure out how to go back far enough to get your update. I'll check you out over on the other thread! Hope you are both doing well in the meantime!

Pancake...Hope you are doing well! I have some must-visit restaurants in Rome that I'd love to share with you if you are interested. Especially one place where i had the best pizza of my entire life. I have actually had a dream about eating it...true story. I miss it and want you to experience it too! YUUUUUMMMM.

AFM...I guess I'm moving over to the other thread too. I've made my first post there which was scary and somehow made this all seem a little more real! 13 weeks today! Feeling the same and managing. Looking forward to getting the blood results from the NT appt this week before sharing the news with everyone.

Re:

Thanks for the congrats, marlie! And congrats to you for making it up to 13 weeks - how exciting! Fingers crossed for you that your NT results come back good.

AFM, I just posted this in the TTC thread:
I got through 3 of the new compounded Progesterone 100mg version this weekend, before the itching came back in full force. I called my OB's office this morning, and was only able to get an appointment with one of the NPs at 2pm. I'm starting to think that I'm allergic to progesterone itself. Is that even possible? I found something online called "Autoimmune Progesterone Dermatitis", which of course, is freaking me out! But one of the treatments for that is actually progesterone supplements.

I want to get another beta today and have them test my progesterone at the same time, to see if it has gone up any from the total of 700mg of progesterone I've taken over the weekend, or worse, if it's gone down from the original 13.5 on Tuesday. I was told 15-20 is where it should be, but I've read online that anywhere from 10 to 40 is good for the first trimester. I just hope that my body doesn't attack itself in reaction to my own progesterone levels!

Anyways, I'll keep you ladies posted as I find out more. Hope everyone had a better weekend than I did!

Re:

Quick update on my appointment:

I spent quite a while at the OB office. I explained what happened this weekend to the medical assistant, then waited a long time for the NP to come in, then explained it all over to the NP, who then had to go consult with my OB because she was fresh out of ideas. My OB suggested that I continue to take the progesterone supplements along with benedryl, for as long as I could stand it. I guess they're saying that the baby needs the progesterone more than I need my skin not to itch. No tests were done on me, but I was given the blood work form for the progesterone test on Friday, because they want to test it after being on the supplements for 1 week. At least I was able to schedule my first prenatal appointment with the NP for the 29th. I'll be 6w+4d by then - I hope!

Re:

S&I, so sorry about the itchies! Hope the benadryl takes the edge off. I've taken that while pregnant before with no worries.

How is everyone else doing today?

AFM, still doing a lot better but tired, queasy, grumpy, etc. DH has been out of town several nights in the last week, and that's been hard on me. MIL is willing to spend the night and she did for the first one, but afterwards I decided I like the alone time more than the help. ;)) So now I'm a zombie from not getting much sleep (Claire woke up in the middle of the night and wouldn't go back to sleep, so I brought her in bed with me, but she is a terrible bed fellow. At one point she decided the perfect place to sleep was ON my pillow!). Looking through take-out menus because I am in no mood to cook DH a dinner when he gets in in an hour.

Re:

PhG, thanks. So sorry about your DH being away. My DH will sometimes end up on my pillow in the middle of the night! Hope you feel better soon!

AFM, I went back to taking my usual zyrtec in the AM, along with the Prometrium 200mg. Then I took the Progesterone 100mg at night. I had stopped taking zyrtec last Thursday since the label said consult your doctor if pregnant. I was told at my appt on Monday that I was fine to start back on my zyrtec, so that seems to have helped with my itchiness. I didn't really itch at all yesterday, and didn't even need benadryl. I go back on Friday for beta #3 and progesterone check - hoping for really high numbers all around.

Re:

S&I - I have allergies and my doctor said it was okay to continue taking my daily Zyrtec. Seems to be a preggo-safe drug. Hope your next test goes well!

PG - Hope you are doing well today! Glad your DH is home to help with your little girl now.

:wavey: to anyone else who hasn't jumped ship for the big preggo thread yet!

AFM, cruising right along toward 11 weeks. Baby is 1/4 cooked already, WOW. Next appointment is coming up on Monday. Still feeling overall really good, though sometimes I get a little tired and the regular 4 am bathroom trip is getting old. Keeping up with my exercising helps, and my run/walk intervals are going well (45 minutes today, 20 of which were jogging).

I am starting to get a little overwhelmed with how fast my summer is disappearing. I will be back at my middle school next week and the week after for lesson planning, classroom setup, and professional development. The kids come back the day after Labor Day, and I have two grade levels of LA to teach and prepare for now. Time FLEW by this summer. I wanted to get a lot more done around the house in preparation for Baby, but we had many weekends away and a lot of rental house business to take care of over the past few months. Oh, well. I've started going through things in the future baby room, trying to get organized, and ended up shredding FOUR trash bags of old bills and mailings dating back to 2005. I ordered a window valance from a neutral bedding set I really like, so I can see the colors in person. One of DH's former girlfriends had a kid who used to use this room and the carpet is stained all to hell. :nono: Will need to replace that after painting.
