Grr my insurance company is not going to like me. I was pulling a big bowl of food out of my refrigerator when the bowl slipped and trying to catch the bowl I whacked my e-ring against the refrigerator. Well my e-ring a .92 VVs1 faint yellow pear turned into two lovely diamond pieces. It is fully insured so I am not worried about anything really. However I am not sure what style to buy with the insurance money. I recently saw a lovely 1920’s marquise set in platinum with side stones, and am also interested in a 2.36 oec set in plat with side stones. However I have been recently wearing all yellow gold and my wedding band is 18k gold that was from my great grandmother, I can not change the band out it would be an affront to my family. Would it be tacky if I wore a warm peachy colored wedding band with a platinum e-ring? Also I am including a couple of pics, does yellow gold or white gold better shut my skin tone?
Here is a bad pic of me wearing yellow gold.

Disclaimer-The shaved head was due to my mother in law having cancer. She lost her hair I keep my hair shaved. Also we where in the keys that explains the wardrobe

So sorry to hear about your e-ring!

I don''t think it would be tacky at all. I recently paired a modern 18k (or maybe 22k? Don''t remember) yellow gold bezel solitaire (super rich yellow color) next to my platinum eternity ring (on same finger) and LOVED the look of them together. I also see a lot of folks stacking rings of different metals and it looks great!

It''s a cool, intentionally unconventional look that I personally love and wouldn''t hesitate to wear myself :)

I think I prefer YG on you actually - but you definately have the tone to pull off either

Wow, Macie, I''m so sorry to hear that this happened. Glad to hear you have such great insurance, though! Honestly I do like yg for your skin tone, so I don''t think there will be a problem with you wearing platinum OR yg! As far as mixing them, I think plenty of women do that for sentimental reasons or even just because it looks nice. I think however your situation turns out you will have the best of both worlds and it will look just fab.
