Wow, what a rock! I''m glad you like it. I was so concerned about my fiance''s ability to pick a ring that I ended up designing it myself.

And you just might win the ''smallest finger on PS'' prize...

Seriously! I would like to see someone with these size fingers in person. I always thought I had thin fingers, but I''m still a 5.25. I''m not even sure my pinky is a 4! lol

I just can''t get over that you wear 2.5 size ring. I wear at 5.5 and that makes my hands giant compared to yours. LOL.

Kittybean!

I''ve been admiring your ring and my BF announced last night (after reading thu many entries in this forum) that perhaps he should play it safe and go ring hunting with me. While he announced that it will be a total surprise (the ring and the proposal) he wants to see what would turn heads, mine included. I love the emerald cut with the side stones. I was contemplating instead of a center diamond, perhaps an emerald or sapphire instead. My ring size is about a 4 and I was worried if the size of the center stone and the sidestones would be rubbing against the adjacant fingers. It would hard to tell when trying on rings because they are always too large to tell. ALso how well do you think the platinum setting sets off the stones? I have some friends whose platimun setting are showing signs of wear (looking a little dull and dings believe it or not?!)

Bu the way which dress did you finally decide on? They were all stuning. My mother has a friend who works for Sarah Houston in Toronto and she promised that I could get her to design a wedding dress for me!
Okay, I''m going to try to answer your questions quickly.

1. My ring doesn''t rub against my other fingers, despite the shared-prong setting. It is very comfortable. I would advise that, for maximum comfort, try to avoid having prongs past about 10 and 2 o''clock on the ring. I have other rings that are half-eternity, and they are gorgeous, but not as super-comfy.

2. I think an emerald-cut sapphire or emerald would look lovely in this setting. I personally love sapphires, and they are a nice, hardy stone for an e-ring. Check out the wealth of knowledge on Colored Stones if you are leaning this way.

3. I love platinum, but I also have nothing against the patina, which is the natural finish platinum gets as it slowly gets "dinged up." Yes, it will show signs of wear. This is a totally normal feature of platinum. The metal is very strong, and it just displaces when it "dings," so you never lose any metal. Get it re-polished and it will look brand new again! I personally think the platinum sets off the diamonds gorgeously, and really, with side stones that provide more finger coverage, the only time I notice the wear is when I look at the bottom of my ring. All everyone else sees is sparkle

4. My dress is the Watters 7094B (slim & simple silk charmeuse gown). I love it and will be posting pics from my first fitting soon.

Hope that helps!

No, no, no! Your hands are tiny. Mine are elf hands! (I''m a very small person overall.)

Thanks for the advice. My mom said I should get a platinum and 18k gold setting. Why? I do not know. My BF and I have an appointment to go to the Philadelphia Diamond Company this Saturday to browse. I plan on wearing my wedding band on my right hand so there will be no issues with my ER. My BF did say that he wanted diamonds in his band. I think he wants to get everything at once.

I have very long slender fingers like my mom and her mother. I think the problem will be designing the right gown because I am in general extremely slim with no hips, but wide shoulders. I am about 5'' 10" in bare feet and not sure if my gown will be floor length or not. It depends on the kind of wedding we might plan on having. I''d like to go to either Mexico or Hawaii and be married at sunset on the beach. I was also thinking of telecasting the wedding for those who wouldn''t be able to attend to a restaurant for a kind of interactive reception. (It was my dad''s suggestion... He is into stuff like that!) I know that my dad''s mother would not be happy if she couldn''t be there, but we don''t want to compromise on this just to please her. (My mom is saying go for it because she would love to vacation in Hawaii!)

I plan on designing the invites my self and placing them on a CD as a slide show. The invitation would also be in the disk jacket. The CD will be like the many collages I have seen in these forums, but relevant to our venue.

Well, first I do have to get engaged before I start planning all of this! Hope everyone has a glorious weekend and a Happy Thanksgiving. I will be in South Beach, Florida next week for the holidays!

I am so glad this ring got bumped up again...I know you know this is my favorite ring on PS!!!! I remember your finger size was small (also reminded of that when I saw your gorgeous dress on that amazing figure!!!), but wow! 2.5!!! your stone is suuuuch a nice size, but it looks even more big and beautiful on your pretty little hands!

Thank you so much Alli! You are always such a darling. If we want to start in on dresses on gorgeous figures, yours is amazing! You made an awesome choice, and you are going to look fantastic.

Congrats!!
Thank you so much--I really like the proportions of it in relation to my finger. I think I still fall under DancingFire''s ring size = carat weight for fancies rule, haha

trishy - I found this thread after clicking on your profile picture where you responded to one of my posts (I was the one with the heart promise ring).

VERY LOVELY RING! I''m so in-love with your ring! I never liked Emerald cuts but now I''m looking into that... I''d have to show my FF this one and hope you don''t mind if I copy the design!
