So, after realizing I have found the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in (Le Sirenuse in Positano, Italy) here on PS, and I have seen another link for an amazing hotel in Bellagio posted here, I thought I would start a thread to hopefully gather all of the gorgeous hotels in Europe in one place. I know there are a few people going to Europe soon, so hopefully you have great hotel recommendations.

Personally, W and I are trying to plan a trip to France/Northern Italy in the next couple of years, and I have seen some amazing hotel recommendations from ya''ll!

Here''s a link to Le Sirenuse in Positano, Italy;

And Villa Serbelloni in Bellagio, Italy;

La Sirenuse is supposed to be amazing. I want to go to Italy and possibly rent a villa in Tuscany possibly next summer with my family and maybe go to Capri and Positano as well. Le Sirenuse is one of the hotels hubby really wants to go to.

It was. I have pics of it on the first page of my Italy thread.

We stayed during low season, and we ended up getting a one bedroom suite, though I paid for a standard room with a view.

Wow, the restaurant has 2 Michelin stars! Unreal! Looks lovely. And the prices aren't too bad for a Superior during low or middle season . . .

Have you been there, Matata?

I''m going to Villa Crespi this summer!

I stayed at the Montreux Palace Hotel in Switzerland on WORK once. It''s right on Lake Geneva and Nabokov used to live there. I had a HUGE room with a balcony overlooked the alps and the lake. Ahhhh.

Check out the slideshow:

I''ve stayed at both and they get my vote!!! I did like Le Sirenuse a smidge better than Villa Serbelloni...I will also add this to the list -- we liked it.

GRITTI PALACE VENICE

this is also a nice hotel in Positano Il SAN PIETRO

I''ve stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Cannes, France and it has spoiled me for life! It has a very interesting history. Also, if any of you ever saw French Kiss, Meg Ryan crawls on the floor in it during one of the last scenes to hide from her ex. It was beautiful and the service was EXCELLENT! Here''s a picture of it that barely does it justice!

Oh, wow!

Some of these hotels have me looking up plane ticket prices!

I SOOOOO WANT TO GO TO ITALY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me toooooooooo! As soon as these kids of mine are gone, I''m there for a month or so! Well, maybe I can''t wait that long. I''ll at least get the boys our of the house before I go!

We stayed at the Four Seasons George V in Paris last October and it was incredibly dreamy! Had dinner there at Le Cinq and the food and service was fantastic. We hope to see Tuscany one day as well =)

This does it. I''d like to go to the Amalfi Coast next summer.

YES!

My company goes to club every year for top performers. I am vying to win for my team, simply because I gave it to to one of my direct reports this year.

I''m even thinking of some of the gorgeous hotels in Napa and Sonoma.

I''m really hoping we''ll go for our fifth anniversary.. .just a little over three years :)
Fingers crossed for you! I want to go back for our 5th anniversary, too! Just a week in Positano, Ravello, and Sorrento.

I have my eye on this one on the French Riviera:

http://www.edenroc-hotel.fr/

Harriet, I have seen that one. It is nice. The Voile D'Or is also lovely, smaller and boutiquey. You must go to the village of Eze if you go there, and Monaco is not far, we went to Casino there. However, the roads are scary. That is where Princess Grace died, and the Grande Corniche and the other arteries are super winding and narrow. They drive a bit crazily there too.

DF,
What''s Eze like?

Park Hyatt Hamburg

Amazing, amazing breakfast bar. The rooms are super nice as well, just make sure to ask to get one with the floor to ceiling windows. Good for business travel.

We are considering the Villa Crespi as the first leg of our Italian honeymoon... It looks fantastic on their website, but its getting killed in reviews on Trip Advisor:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187854-d231279-Reviews-Villa_Crespi-Orta_San_Giulio_Piedmont.html

Anyone actually stayed here that can comment?

Also, Lauren, do you have another recomendation for Positanio? Le Sirenuse is booked...

You know, to be honest, there are some amazing apartments in Positano on www.rentvillas.com and my husband and I have considered renting one with a small pool and balcony, and a view of the amazing Tyrrhanian Sea.

There are also a few suggestions here: http://www.positano.com/

Also, look into Ravello and Amalfi for hotels - the whole area is just amazingly beautiful.

Also, sna - did you check this one: http://www.ilsanpietro.it/

I did... It looks pretty nice, but I''m a bit confused about the layout of the area etc... Is it good to be near the center with shops etc? Where is access to the beaches? This will be the "sit at the beach" part of the honeymoon...

Yes, you're better off to be central.

this hotel has it''s own private beach -- and it''s not far from Le Sirenuse -- but away from town just a little.
from what I remember about Positano is the beaches aren''t that great anyway -- kind of rocky? SInce Lauren was just there recently, she could probably comment better....

I would love to take another trip to paris. and i would absolutely love to stay here
