Hi all, I found a Kunzite ring that I love so much, but after read and did research; found out a stone color will fade out after time past by even though it is a natural Kunzite So wondering if anyone has any experience like that.
Yes......
Here's a thread on it.
Is Kunzite doomed to fade?
I like the colour of kunzite but I’ve read that UV exposure can cause it to fade… perhaps I should skip this stone? Go for the same colour in sapphire? Anyone have kunzite?www.pricescope.com
But I’ve never owned Kunzite. It’s so pretty though.
If you are looking for a stone that resembles a pink diamond then I would seriously consider a light pink spinel. That was my first purchase and I still love spinel and have since purchased several others, all of which sparkle like crazy.
Spinel would be my pick, as well.
There's also really pretty garnets and tourmaline that may also fit the bill.
These vendors like pastels and they have a nice collection in different specimen variety. They will also make the ring for you.

if you love the ring, is there anything wrong with just saving it for night time events ?
its certainly not the only lovely stone that fades over time
So no all day shopping, no brunch or lunch dates, no Buckingham palace garden parties, no walks on the beach or while sunbathing (i hope nobody does that anyway these days)
but you can wear it to dinner or to the theatre
treat it like like a good dress you only wear to certain ocaasions and you would never wear it grocery shopping !
I’ve got a few. One or two have lightened a little but most haven’t. Mine are over 10-12 years.

I second that - they can be fine if treated properly.
I have a few (currently being reset) that I inherited from my husband’s grandmother. She had them for DECADES, and they are still the delicate light lilac-pink (admittedly less valuable than the more saturated tones) that they were when she purchased them.
I know she reserved them for after dark, and even referred to them as “evening stone”
You give some hope to me on this stone again,I can‘t forget the kunzite ring which I already returned. I remembered the feeling inlove, happy when i wore a ring.
The hearts wants what the heart wants, and fortunately it’s not a terribly expensive stone so it is a fairly low-risk proposition!
