Hey! I really love your rings...I was just wondering if it would be okay with you if I saved pictures of them and showed them to whiteflash so they could get an idea of what I''m talking about. I totally understand if it''s not okay with you--they are your rings! But I wanted to ask before I did. Thanks!

Of course hon! Go right ahead! But I have one rule...that you have to post pictures of your ring once you get it!!!

I like that rule!

Allie, thank you for asking!!!

I completely ditto Neatfreak! But we demand pics pics for all of us to drool over.

I'm totally flattered, and curious as to what you're planning.

One comment on my ring's profile, though - I can't see too much of my Asscher, and if I had to design it knowing what I know now, I'd go with a profile more like Neatfreak's (slightly thicker single bezel, not the double halo), so I could see the culet much better than I can.

Otherwise, if you have any questions or are looking for any input, feel free to ask!

Good choice allie, neatfreak and lauren''s rings are some of THE most beautiful on pricescope!!

Thanks, ladies!

My boyfriend wants to get the engagement ring without me knowing, so he can totally surprise me with the proposal. As a result, I''m in the process of making him a word file (at his request) with pictures and information about what I would like, and where to get it done.

I''d like a sapphire solitaire for my engagement ring, and if he decides that he''d like to go with a more modern style ring with a more modern style cut (one of the options is having Dan Stair cut one of his Barion Square Brilliants), I''d love to have one in the style of your rings.

The other option is to get a cushion cut sapphire, and have it set in a Leon Mege solitaire with double claw prongs. I love both ideas equally, so whatever he chooses, I will be perfectly happy with!

Can''t wait to see your ring once it is done. Two very different directions and I am sure you will be delighted with either. I think you should chose the direction you like more and give him one option :)

Very sweet of him - and I think that it will look amazing either way!

Ooh that ring will be great!!

Another place for some picture inspiration is

Linda Penwarden

She is a Toronto designer, but does a lot of work with coloured stones (and my good friend got a sapphire engagement ring from there). Might get some inspiration there!

That sounds like it''s going to be gorgeous! I just love Dan''s barion cuts - I have a small pink tourmaline barion cut by him, and I''m dying for some lovely sapphire rough to have another one cut someday.

You should come over to Colored Stones if you haven''t been there already. Tons of lovely eye-candy, and I''ve learned LOADS from the experts over there.

Sounds like a great project, and with those two rings as some of your inspiration you can''t go wrong!!! As others have said, please please post photos when it is done. We love photos here!

Oh, Don''t worry! I will definitely post pictures when it comes...which probably won''t be for another year (he''s ready to propose, but I''m not quite ready to be engaged). He''s just all ready to get going on his little project.

Colored Stones is my favorite section...I love looking at everybody''s beautiful gemstones! I originally wanted a spessarite garnet, but I really want to wear my ring all the time and not have to worry about it. I know I always have to be careful with any ring, but a sapphire seems a little safer. Diamonds are beautiful, but I''m just a colored stone person, I guess!

LTP: I understand what you''re saying, especially since the diamonds rule around here, but... I have to say that I love the architectural quality of your bezel!

Thank you for saying so, VRBeauty!

I think my husband did an amazing job, and the fact that I was an architecture major in college for a couple of years, and we are both huge FLW, Eichler, and Ando fans, my ring really represents our design aesthetic, and some of our future dreams. I peruse www.savewright.org nearly weekly.

Your husband designed that??? I agree with your assessment, amazing captures it!

I lived in Eichlers for many of my formative years -- maybe that explains why I''m attracted to the architecture of your ring!

Hi AllieGator, sorry to threadjack but I also have a bezelled ering which I loosely designed around LTP''s, neatfreak''s and the ritani endless love. You might not be able to see all those factors when you look at it, but so many things played a part in the design process.

Here it is:

I know you didn''t ask for my advice, but if there''s anything you want to know, please ask!!

Luckily, I''m married to a digital artist. When we were dating, he was desgining settings left and right. This was the one that made me drop my drink in my lap.

And oh my gosh! You''ve lived in not one, but multiple Eichlers?!?!?!? Call me incredibly jealous!

I was searching double bezels, and saw this topic.

LaurenThePartier, so you wish you didn''t have the double bezel at the top, or do you mean the large piece underneath your diamond? My boyfriend and I are going on Monday morning to have a ring made. I am still trying to figure out if I want a plain bezel, or a double bezel like yours! I am getting a round diamond set by the way.

Hey, Cat! I love the double bezel because it''s incredibly unique, but I can''t see a whole lot of the profile of my diamond. I really, really wish I could see more of the culet, so, yeah, in offering advice about a bezel set ring, I LOVE that you can see so much more of NF''s diamond from the side.

I can''t wait to see what your desihm plans look like for your ring!
