Dem and Bling Diva -- Jim from James Allen just told me that his designer rejected the cast last night and so I won''t have the ring by tomorrow as originally expected. I was so looking forward to finally havinig it and wearing it around this weekend, oh well. The wait is killing me! But I guess I''d rather have the designer be 100% happy with it than to rush the job and have it botched.

Aww Kristy, I was peeking in just to see your ring! However, I think it''s great they rejected the cast to perfect it as opposed to sending a sub-standard item! What is the new ETA?

Just talked to the jeweler today...it should be here on Wednesday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all will go well. I'm not sure why this design is taking extra time -- it seemed pretty straightforward to me, but what do I know?! He said he wanted to be sure it was totally perfect and he didn't want to send me anything sub-standard. BTW, ladies, thanks for sharing in my excitement!

It is pretty! And the topic says 2-3carat center stones, not center diamonds!
 
Mine, that is beautiful! What kind of stone is that? In the picture it looks *kind of* like a fire opal but more orange than the ones I''ve seen. I''m dying to know what it is!

Actually it is a spessertite (a type of garnet) It was cut by Richard Homer. I looked at the fire opal, but they were too soft for an ering and I did not think they had as much umph as a spess.

Under flore. lights, my stone is very red... under yellower lights (common household lamps) it is like a reddish orange... oh but yummm.. outside it looks like a sunkist orangey orange!!
 
Wow! You all have such GORGEOUS rings! I used to think I wanted a smaller stone in D or E color, but seeing all these has completely changed my mind. They are stunning!
