Last night when I read your story originally I was sobbing for you.
And reading your newer post, SO SAD!!!
Its not quite the same, but I know how you feel. My fiance and I had 5 Betta Fish between the two of us (four live with me, one lives with him, but they are really all ours) and within the past three weeks, 3 of them died. The two that are mine were both ill for an extended period of time, but his was completely sudden. Bettas are such great fish, they are one of the few types that actually recognize their owners, and they live for up to 4 years (the oldest one of ours was about 2). I have a big empty spot on my dresser where their tanks went. So I know the feeling of expecting to see them.
