I need help from someone knowledgable on flaws with sapphires. It appeared to be surface scratches on the sapphire under the microscope I was told this is the way it''s formed. I keep reading and it''s driving me mad to what''s heat treated or not since I''ve been reading there almost all heat treated in some form or another (about 90%)
Any websites with pictures, advise would be much appreciated.

'Guess you need a lab report attesting treatment for a sapphire?

There are a number of articles and cute photos of sapphire inclusions online, but nothing quite good enough for DIY grading. For curiosity... you might want to check the websites of AGTA, AIGS, SSEF and GIA... www.gemologyonline.com (a forum) and www.fieldgemology.com (you'll see what ;) ).

Not sure what but proper inspection by an expert (appraiser or gem lab) could help, but... it should be fun looking around.

If you see surface scratches under the microscope, it could just be marks from the polishing wheel. Are they running the same way across a whole facet?

no, they were criss crossing
