I don't even know which way it goes lol. It's some sort of an old cut marquise (?). It is pretty loupe clean so now I'm wondering if it's fake, and the sapphires are super dark, so I'm assuming synthetic based on the age (art deco). I see some dots of carbon on one side of the diamond.
I'll try to post pictures in the sun tomorrow. Any clues on what this might be?
The seller is a liquidator and was told it is art deco diamond and that nobody wanted this (ugly) cut. I like it.

I think the diamond may be considered "kite cut".

Kite Diamonds Backstory

With its elongated form and four featured contours, the kite shape has been called colloquially “the diamond cut diamond” for it resembles the same shape kids often draw when attempting to refer to diamonds. Kite-shaped diamonds emerged in the Art Deco period, around the 1920s. Since that time, they have been listed as a fancy cut. The shape is a quintessential side stone for those looking for vintage settings with a twist. Over the past years, the shape has been growing in popularity and is beginning to take off as a centerpiece stone.

Definitely a kite and I love it!

There's a trendy jeweler called Point no Point Studio that does a lot of kite-shaped engagement rings in alternative center stones. They tend to show the shorter side towards the palm and the pointier side towards the fingertips.

Thank you @Paisley2628 and @newtojewels!!! So the period adds up and I'm pretty sure it's an original with an open cutlet, after researching the seller. It's super neat. More pics and the present box, that is in a really bad shape.

Love the kite cut-what a fun stick pin(?) conversion!

It's just taken some hits over the years. I think it's gorgeous. i don't trust myself to buy stuff of uncertain period/provenance but it's super-cool!

I love it! It was probably once a stick pin. Such a cool piece!
