Why not do it the other way around? You know, having been here, about the Recommended Vendor sticky list above -- see if you find anything you like from those vendors & then link to it & ask for opinions. Roger Dery at Spectral Gems has a number of sapphires up at the moment in various cuts.

Yeah it was a real bummer after all the time that I have waited. I was thankful that it was still available when I decided to be brave enough to pick it up. Its just unfortunate that it didn't amount to what it was shown to be IMO.

I took a few pictures of it the first day I had it but worked the day after and put it in the mail during lunch. I had it for all of 24hrs but I just didn't see it working out.

She has talked to someone at my brothers wedding about the more darker blue ones to be higher valued, and she has even shown me some that have that deep Kashmir look so I knew i wasn't going to be able to convince that the cut made up for it.

Color is more important because that's what makes a Blue Sapphire IMO. If I wanted sparkle I would have decided on a Conflict Free Diamond.

Ironically, the pictures that I took of the stone came out even darker than the ones that were posted on their website also.

And for the record, I have seen just about every stone that is on the vendors list.

I find myself so picky in what I am looking for that it seems like its going to be a while. I am working with a cutter at the moment and hope that they can help me out. All ears for anything that anyone finds.

The stone pictured is what I am looking for and if it wasn't for me being afraid of online purchasing and knowing the cutter more, I would have been on this stone like white on rice. I still shake my head every time I see it.

What are yall's opinions on this stone?

Its a 2.4 roundish at 7.1x7.18. Its also going for $3100.

Wow I cant believe how much time has gone by since I have made this post.

Well I am still on the hunt for a stone.

I actually ended up having that 2.4 round sent over to me and it just wasn't what I was looking for.

Unfortunately it was darker than I wanted it to be.

The cut on it was surely amazing as the pictures show but the color just wasn't where I wanted it to be.

Any help on this search will be great!!

I have branched out to the following:

Medium to Kashmir Blue
Round to Ovalish Round

If the color is phenomenal, it will only be then that I decide to go with a cushion cut.

I am trying to propose soon so I am anxious to get a stone but I want it to be a really nice one so I have the patience.

All the help is greatly appreciated!!

CORRECTION:
The stone was LIGHTER that I expected it to be, not darker. That was a mistake that was brought to my attention. The pics that I took of the stone came out dark and didn't represent the stone well at all so I wont post them to mislead anyone so I got confused when I was making this post.
