I''m trying to find pics of a pear shaped diamond with a sapphire halo. I saw one on FayCullen.com but I''m looking for something more similiar to FireGoddess''s gorgeous pear with halo. Has anybody seen any or can someone direct me to some pics. Thanks

First, thanks so much for the compliment.

Second, is this the ring you saw at Fay Cullen? It caught my eye the other day. I bet it would be quite similar actually, if the diamond pear was a modern cut instead of a vintage cut and there was no airline or space between the stone and the halo. I think for sapphires the halo looks best like the one in this pic, since in my diamond halo the small melee are set into the platinum head and you would see white metal between the sapphires in the halo if done exactly like mine. What do you think of this one?

i do like that one, in fact that is what I saw at Fay Cullen. I don''t like that space though. I can''t decide between a sapphire center stone with diamond halo or reverse. also I think I really only want 1ct max and I''m not sure that I''ve seen rings of that size with halo''s.

I wonder if Wink could repro that for me ? Hmm....I''m gonna ask

I'd ask, it couldn't hurt. I've seen lots of rings in that range with halos...it's a great size to do that with. The ring has more presence, but isn't....Viva Las Vegas.

How do I get that picture so that I can send it to Wink ?

is this for an ering, or another ring?? Love it!

LBug75 if you wish i can photoshop diamond closer into the halo and e-mail that picture to you in Attachment.
Do you still want it prong set or bezel?

Oh wow !! That would be great !! Could you do both ? Thanks

here you go, please let me know if it''s what you want me to e-mail to you.

Awesome job !! Yes. please do e-mail those. I appreciate it very much.

Just gorgeous! A modern cut pear will be a little less ''roundy'' at the tip end so it should look quite nice, elongated and beautiful!!

Hehe ...FG, i hope you don''t mind sharing your pear for this, it''s fatter now, but still yours

No problem - Didn't even recognize it!

hey, just for giggles could you photoshop it to make the pear sapphire and the halo diamonds ? I know I''m pressing my luck Ha HA

Will do if you be more specific, halo of rounds? what Sapphire size?

Let''s see, I''ll take a halo of rounds, like FG and maybe a half carat sapphire. Feel free to play arounf with shapes LOL

Here''s a picture from Fay Cullen and a secret....I absolutely LOVE the scalloped halo look. I wanted my ering to look like that but with my teeny tiny melee I guess it couldn''t be done.

see, I''d want really small melee too if I went for the sapphire for the center, but how much do you have to worry about the 4 c''s with melee ?

My only concern was the color and clarity - I counted on my jeweler not to give me melee that were dogs but I didn''t say ''make sure those 1-2 pointers are ideal cut!''

Here''s a nice example made by Diamonds by Lauren. You can see the ring on their auction page on Ebay. Link to Auction

Thanks. I saw some melee on e-bay and I was trying to decide whether or not I should buy it.

man I must suck with my ebay searches... i think i need a tutorial bc I always only see crap...

Do you search through the catergories or type in your own thing?

Under jewelry there is a category for loose stones and I believe I saw some 1.5 pointers and some 2.5 pointers.

K, let''s see. I went to e-bay, of course LOL go to jewelry and watches then go to the sub category loose stones and go to diamonds, that melee should be on the very first page.hope that helps, I''m not sure how to post links here yet.

Well, perhaps a jeweler could say different, but I would imagine that if you are trying to save money by getting your own melee it could backfire. What if they''re not well matched in terms of size, etc, which can be hard when they''re that small? In doing intricate work, most of the $ goes to labor, not the actual stones. Perhaps they could use your melee, but I would tend to go that route only if the melee has special value to you (ie. from a family ring, etc).

Very true. If you don''t mind my asking, what size melee did you use ?

The jeweler told me that the halo and shank all have 2 pointers. Sometimes though, I wonder if they're not 1 pointers.

Ya know, it''s so hard. The more I look the more stuff I see that I like. I asked my Mom which route I should go and she said "I think you deserve a big rock" LOL You see, I ended up taking my other ring back becuase I just couldn''t make up my mind LOL It probably doesn''t help that I''m looking at all of your gorgeous rocks LOL
