I''m trying to find pics of a pear shaped diamond with a sapphire halo. I saw one on FayCullen.com but I''m looking for something more similiar to FireGoddess''s gorgeous pear with halo. Has anybody seen any or can someone direct me to some pics. Thanks
Second, is this the ring you saw at Fay Cullen? It caught my eye the other day. I bet it would be quite similar actually, if the diamond pear was a modern cut instead of a vintage cut and there was no airline or space between the stone and the halo. I think for sapphires the halo looks best like the one in this pic, since in my diamond halo the small melee are set into the platinum head and you would see white metal between the sapphires in the halo if done exactly like mine. What do you think of this one?
i do like that one, in fact that is what I saw at Fay Cullen. I don''t like that space though. I can''t decide between a sapphire center stone with diamond halo or reverse. also I think I really only want 1ct max and I''m not sure that I''ve seen rings of that size with halo''s.
I'd ask, it couldn't hurt. I've seen lots of rings in that range with halos...it's a great size to do that with. The ring has more presence, but isn't....Viva Las Vegas.
Here''s a picture from Fay Cullen and a secret....I absolutely LOVE the scalloped halo look. I wanted my ering to look like that but with my teeny tiny melee I guess it couldn''t be done.
My only concern was the color and clarity - I counted on my jeweler not to give me melee that were dogs but I didn''t say ''make sure those 1-2 pointers are ideal cut!''
K, let''s see. I went to e-bay, of course LOL go to jewelry and watches then go to the sub category loose stones and go to diamonds, that melee should be on the very first page.hope that helps, I''m not sure how to post links here yet.
Well, perhaps a jeweler could say different, but I would imagine that if you are trying to save money by getting your own melee it could backfire. What if they''re not well matched in terms of size, etc, which can be hard when they''re that small? In doing intricate work, most of the $ goes to labor, not the actual stones. Perhaps they could use your melee, but I would tend to go that route only if the melee has special value to you (ie. from a family ring, etc).
Ya know, it''s so hard. The more I look the more stuff I see that I like. I asked my Mom which route I should go and she said "I think you deserve a big rock" LOL You see, I ended up taking my other ring back becuase I just couldn''t make up my mind LOL It probably doesn''t help that I''m looking at all of your gorgeous rocks LOL
