**lots of photos**Project completed and I’m in love with my Art Deco brooch conversion bracelet

Creative solution and lovely bracelet!!!
Thanks Whitewave! This was my first conversion piece, and now I think I caught the bug for it. It felt great taking two hard-to-wear pieces and making them into something I can wear all the time!

That is genius, tripling up the chain like that.
Thanks PintoBean! I got the idea for the triple chain because the brooch has 3 little points at the end and I feared that the brooch would flip around a lot if only one chain was only attached to the middle point. Ultimately, I like the end result better than my original sketch. Nick and his team thought it would be better to attach all 3 loops to the the center point to keep the original shape of the brooch. My favorite detail is the little teensy bar near the clasp that keeps all the chains in line. Sometimes the little bar flips, but the chains still look really beautiful as a group and the brooch stays in place on top of my writs and right side up almost all the time!

Gorgeous and unique. Love your cluster ring too!:kiss2:
Thanks Queenie! Are you Bay Area based? Lang Antiques were the ones who recommended Nick Engle for repairs and customizations and I had a great experience with them...if you're ever looking for someone local. The brooch isn't from Lang, but I brought it there for them to look over, and Nick was at the top of their list for local benches.

Love it!!! I especially like how you tripled the necklace which will make it sturdy while keeping a delicate look.
Thanks Stonewell! I'm kind of a klutz, so sturdiness is important...although the fact that it's on the same hand as my e-ring makes me a teensy bit more mindful of where I'm flinging my appendages.

Ingenious!! How cool is this? Wow!

:love:What a great idea! The bracelet looks beautiful on you!

So beautiful!! Amazing conversion and being able to incorporate your grandmother's necklace!

Oh that turned into a fabulous bracelet!! I love the three chains with it. :appl::appl:

I love how delicate it looks.

It’s gorgeous! Delicate and very feminine. Thanks for sharing

Beautiful! What a nice way to make two pieces wearable. :appl::wavey:

Love this!

Beautiful conversion. Love it. The detail on that brooch is gorgeous! Enjoy!

I keep coming back to sneak another peek. I love how you used the 3 rows of chain....it flows perfectly with the brooch!!!!!

I'm majorly blushing over here! It means so much to me that you all love this conversion as much as I do! It was really important to me to preserve the dainty, delicate feeling of the brooch, so I'm so glad that you all noticed that too. Actually, now that the pin is gone, you can see through the filigree to my skin, which makes it even daintier. I feel like these two pieces were meant to find each other!

I snagged a cute little white gold Art Deco brooch for a song on eBay, and while I do wear brooches, this one was a little too delicate and demure to really pack a punch. I dug through my jewelry box and found a cool 14k chain from my grandmother’s collection that I never wore, and brought both of them to Nick Engle and his team in SF. I’m SO overjoyed with the final product! They added three little loops to each end of the brooch, and created a little bar near the clasp to keep the 3 chains in line. They also bent the brooch slightly so it sits nicely on my wrist. So, without further ado, here’s the before: 083FBA7E-A193-4884-B77E-9B8B7632A641.png21419CBB-2DFF-4842-8683-3404E0772AEF.jpeg

And here’s the final product:

I love! Perfectly executed- you really are a creative repurpos-er!!! Enjoy!!!

I can totally relate! I love delicate looks but knock into things from time to time. It’s hard to strike a balance between my desired look with something more practical. I think what you did was genius. =)2

Wow! It's like they were made for each other (and your wrist)!!!

Beautiful. And the chain from your grandmother is a perfect compliment. Enjoy.

I love it. It’s so delicate looking. Congrats and wear in good health!

That is both beautiful and ingenious! What a gorgeous bracelet that turned into! It is delicate but certainly an eyecatcher too - fabulous!!

Gorgeous! what a stunning piece and I love the way you managed to reuse your grandmother's necklace! Practical question, how long is the brooch?

Omg I really love that bracelet!! Enjoy

Gorgeous! what a stunning piece and I love the way you managed to reuse your grandmother's necklace! Practical question, how long is the brooch?
Thank you!! The brooch is quite small actually! 1.5” long and maybe .25” high at the widest spot. My wrist is about 6” around so it has a lot more presence as a bracelet than it did as a brooch. I have another longer brooch that I was thinking of converting as well, but I think it might enjoy it as a brooch for a while longer while I think it over.
