Hello everyone!
I ran out of make up today and when I was in the states to buy some more they actually had closed up shop. I used something called micabella (sp?) and it was an all mineral make up that didn't cause me to break out. I am looking for a mineral make up, that doesn't dry out my skin (which is already slightly dry) I'd prefer it all organic/natural and doesn't cause me to break out. I already am prone to that type of thing and I'm hoping you lovely ladies can help me out! I've googled it but have came up with nothing ;(

I am in Canada right now, but will be in the states (Chicago area) later this week. I am pretty much OUT so if I can get it here in Canada I would prefer to go that route.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping that I get clarisonic for Christmas and I believe that should take care of my acne prone skin issue but I'm still at a stand still on my make up. I don't like "feeling" like I have make up on and I want a good amount of coverage (some discoloration thanks to breaking out) but I dont want it to appear like I've got gobs of it caked on my skin.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance guys!

I don't really have personal experience with it, but Smashbox's Halo is supposed to be great for dry skin. It's a powder (not sure if it's considered a mineral makeup though) that you apply similarly to mineral makeup. It's supposed to be very hydrating and also provide very good coverage if you apply it correctly (similar to mineral makeup, you can use it as a light powder, or more of a full on foundation). You can try before you buy in a Sephora or Ulta.

I adore Laura Mercier Mineral make up. It covers a multitude of skin sins. I am very ruddy/broken capillaries (thank dad!) and it evens my skin out beautifully.

I am not sure if it meets your organic/natural status but I find it very effective. ;))

Ps The clarisonic is FAB! Hope you get it! :wavey:

I have slightly dry skin and used to break out all the time until I stopped using foundation, and started using good moisturizers. I love Philosophy products, and a good skin peel on a regular basis helps clear up skin. Now I don't wear makeup except for moisturizer and my lipstick, & occasional eyeliner.

I agree with TL that the basis for remedying the dry aspect is by starting with a great moisturizer - I recommend any Cetaphil moisturizer (I use their Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion as I am on a medication that dries my skin) and I use MAC Studio Fix for coverage.

I love clinique. I am prone to breaking out and rashes from fragrance in products and Clinique is awesome. No scents, hypoallergenic and won't clog pores

Halo is my all time favorite go-to make up. It is really soothing on your skin and doesn't give you the BE "tinman" look.

You can buy Micabella at The Bay - both at the Eaton Centre as well as at Yorkdale.
