Aw, you're such a dear. No worries. I'll keep doing what I've been doing -- have my parents send the biscuits to me from Singapore! Thank you again. You really are darling.

Well, if there's anything your parents can't get their hands on for you, my offer still stands. There's probably even a way to do it without releasing info like your address or even name (I used to work at this great espresso bar/bookstore and we accepted mail for a local author). Same goes for you, brazen! Just...after I've stopped being a poor grad student.

I *love* Ribena, but don't think I've had Lucozade...is it fizzy or still?

Fizzy.

Lucozade is fizzy.

If its caffeine and sugar you''re looking for, why don''t you try irn-bru?

You mentioned having it before exams, Harriet--is it an energy drink or just something you liked to pump you up? Either way I''ll have to check it out (am slowly familiarizing myself with all things British), but if it''s an energy drink, I might get to it faster (like, er, tonight) since I have to stay up to finish writing this chapter of my dissertation.

Lucozade is essentially a glucose drink so it is literally fizzy sugary goodness hence why it is good before an exam because your brain feeds off glucose and you can sort supercharge yourself, jellybeans also work :D.

I would think with the level of sugar you would definitely be buzzing :), the original flavour is the best IMO :)

I will if it exists here.

Hmmm, Harriet, this online store seems to sell M&S biscuits and they say they will ship worldwide. Doesn't look like they have a huge selection but I figured I'd pass it on just in case (sorry I can't directly link): http://www.britstore.co.uk/

They've got Irn-Bru and Lucozade as well.

ETA: You're in NYC, jah? There's also an ex-pat store in Greenwich Village that has British foods (no M&S biscuits but drinks and other things): http://www.myersofkeswick.com/main.asp

Irn Bru is a well known hang-over cure. Horrible stuff!

If you want energy - Red Bull is my favourite.

Does anyone else like Haggis? It''s one of my favourite foods.

Me too! Has anyone ever had dandelion and burdock soda? That stuff to me is revolting, but I guess it might have its fans.

I quite like D&B. It''s got a kick to it, sort of like Dr. Pepper.

Has anyone tried M&S''s buttermints? I had them for breakfast once. I wish I was making that up.......

OK, not sure if anyone will check this thread, but I''m an Irishwoman in NY, and also really miss M&S - and I found THIS website that you can buy all sorts of amazing and yummy Brit food on, and they''ll send to the States. It''s fairly pricey once you add in postage, but it''s a good resource for when you need a few bags of Percy Pigs or M&S Choccie marshmallows.

Here''s the entire M&S biccie section:

ENJOY!
