Okay... I learned to not use USPS for my residence. It took them forever to find my package.

Here is the rubellite tourmaline I ordered and a lovely green sapphire as a gift. Rachelle has been so lovely about the shipment problem that I feel bad.

It’s that time of year again! I was up late last night when the sale started and jumped on their site to get the spessartite I had hope for that Rochelle had posted on IG. I also got a cushion lavender spinel. Did anyone else find things they had to have?

I'm on a ban, so I was "good" and deleted some things from my cart. .but I've wanted an electric swiss blue topaz for ages, so I bought a 7.9mm round. No pics to show though!
I really like the st maria aqua pear and a 4ct zircon cut pinky purple amethyst. But I'm resisting.

Oh no! If you want, you can have dibs if they don’t work out for me . I was going back and forth between the round and bigger oval spess, and a few different spinel for a while and thought I better check out before it’s too late and I get none! I hope a PS’er snagged the big oval spess and will share pics

I got:

- the red-orange spinel since in the video it looked like a smaller match for the one I have in a ring and I'm hoping it'll be close and make a matching pendant

- blue zircon 6mm pair... for earrings, except after I checked out I couldn't remember whether my current zircon earrings are 5mm like I thought or if they're really 5.5 or 6...

- blue sapphire oval



- two grayish spinels (popped in my cart to replace the two stones that had disappeared when I went to check out) - the squarish one looks pretty close to the spinel I'd previously had and then the other one bc I had mentally already been spending a certain amount and I tried to pick something that would get me back there, lol

Gorgeous stones! I was looking at all of the ones your bought too and can’t wait to see what you think of the stones in person. Lucky you for getting the red-orange spinel! I was pleasantly surprised there were so many spinels to choose from this time.

I'm a total newbie when it comes to colored stones...as well as anything involving setting...but I'm drawn to these three, mostly the first one! Anyone have any thoughts?

The first one is interesting! When I looked at their pictures, I wasn’t sure, but then I watched the linked video and saw that it is yellowish outside and changes to purplish inside. Color change gems are fascinating. I like the other two stones you linked too. The best way to find out what you like in colored stones is to see them in person and Mastercut Gems has a great return policy if you don’t like something your order.

Call me crazy, but I actually do like the weird mauve-ish "indoor" color, as well as the color in the video! It looks as though if I want to return it, I'll have spent $30 on (round trip) shipping, which is a little steep for the price point I'm looking at. I'll have to sleep on it, especially since I'd have no idea where to start with setting!

The Heliodor is really bright!!! I have two others cut by a different vendor and they are lovely and bright as well but definitely have a brown modifier (which I don't mind in them). I will have to work on some photos later because I am about to head out on family time vacation! I am so excited! @distracts that orange spinel looks awesome! I was kind of bummed I missed that one! I hope it works out for you though and look forward to pictures of it!

That heliodore is so gorgeously yellow. Is it just me, or does the ghost aquamarine look a bit like a Paraiba?

The rest in a few different lights... the darker gray spinel looks a lot better irl than it is photographing but everything else looks fairly accurate? I think that one suffers most because it’s incredibly sparkly but not the most exciting color, and the picture doesn’t show sparkles.

If you are still considering the stones, you could ask Rachelle will take a quick video of the three stones all together. I always find videos helpful, and seeing them that way might make your decision clearer and save you the hassle of a potential return.

Thanks for the tip! I was very reluctant to do this since they are relatively cheap stones. When I first sent them an email asking if they happened to have a video in indoor lighting of the sapphire (another rookie mistake, I'm sure! ) Dana sent a lengthy email back saying he had already tried it but it was a waste of his time, they don't have the time to take a video of a sub-$2,000 stone, they are busy with so many other customers, etc. It was a little off-putting, while at the same time I totally understand that it's a big investment of their time for such a small purchase!

Anyway, I've been hemming and hawing and finally, on a whim, decided to purchase the sapphire! I have absolutely no idea what I'll do with it, but hopefully it's as pretty as the photos/video!

My stones arrived today too . I love the spessartite, but am a little embarrassed to find out that I already have a spessartite from Barry B that’s very close in size, shape and color . I feel bad hoarding two similar stones..are you still interested in it?


The spinel is very pretty and sparkly too, though it’s a bit lighter in color than I typically go for..

Sorry my suggestion didn’t work out! I thought they were doing videos upon request at one point in time. It’s always nice to have that option, but I have heard of a couple of other sellers not doing it any longer as well.

No worries! I didn't formally ask for a comparison video, so maybe they would have done that. I still would have felt bad since I'm currently not in the market for one of the more exquisite/expensive gems! Anyhow, hopefully it's as cool in person as we both hope I'll try and take some photos when it arrives!
