Mastercut gems spring sale

I feel like top right is prettiest, even though it’s the smallest.
Yeah, I just kept going back and forth. I initially thought the top left was my favorite, then bottom right, then top right. All within a few hours today. So I gave up and bought all 3. Luckily most people don't like the brown/champagne colors, so the prices were crazy cheap.

@lovedogs I saw that tourmaline and thought it was cool! I have a ring with an opal and I just am not an opal person. I was looking for a stone to replace the opal with. I just don't know exactly what size to buy....

This is the ring that I want to pull the opal out of below

can you measure the LxW of the opal with a measuring tape?

@lovedogs the opal is approx 12.5 x 9 mm, but I don't know if I could get a slightly smaller deeper stone to work. I have a good bit of clearance because it's a setting with some height. I'd need a pretty good sized stone too- that's my issue.

I don't think MCG is that bad unless you go for the expensive stuff. Recently plopped down serious money on spinels, so it was easy to talk myself out of buying from MCG this time.:confused2:

could decide between these 3 zircons, so I bought all 3 to see for myself and decide.

Yes saw the sale, had multiple windows open but eventually closed them. Didn't see anything I HAD to have & having a gem set by DK so need to be good with my $$$

I like the color on the smallest zircon you purchased! Looking forward to see what others have purchased!

It is a ring that probably only takes a cabochon. Popular types of cabs are other opals, moonstones, or jade.

@T L thanks. I'm really not a cabochon fan. I think it's probably best if I can find a new home for it for someone to enjoy it as is.

I bought the two parcels of 4mm white zircon. It’s on my list of things do to to make a gemstone brooch, and I thought these might make nice accent stones for whatever main stone I choose.

Has anyone seen white zircon in person? I have no idea what to expect.

Yes, in small sizes it can emulate diamond, as long as you get clean material.

I’ll follow up when I get them. I think with shipping it was $71.00 so not a big risk

Yes, they shouldn’t be expensive. I hope you like them.

I keep telling myself I don’t need any more CS, but these two stones were calling out to me :mrgreen2:.

The zircon is loaded with rainbow sparks and is interesting and shifty in color going from light blue to greenish blue to steely grayish blue and I even caught it looking yellow once! The chrysoberyl is super bright and lemony =)2.

Wow that zircon looks really cool!

I bought a similar lot of zircons from Mastercut Gems during a sale earlier this year. They are very sparkly!
