Hi Everyone :wavey:

Been awhile since my last pictorial update - and this little gem has not only stood out, but also wanted to be shared.

1.7 Carat Himalaya Mine Pink Tourmaline 8.9 x 6.6

Purchased from Dana at Mastercut Gems and cut by Dr. Grey Weaver

Hope you enjoy! The secondary lavender popped in a couple of them :))

Lovely pics. I'm not typically a big tourmaline fan at this point, but I saw a few similar gems (pink, same mine) on Dana's site, and thought that they all looked particularly nice in color. This material is very appealing to me, and the cut on this is gorgeous. I really enjoyed your pics as well :)

I love its subtlety & the secondary color. Very nice!

Very pretty! Love the cut, and your photoshopped pics are fun.

I have a soft spot for these tourmalines...and have a few myself.
your stone has very nice crystal!

goodness, it's gorgeous! and those last few photos that look almost feathery, those are beautiful!

what are you going to do with it?

Delicate colour with good crystal and cut. Can you tell us more about the "feathery" pictures?

Katharath: Thank you very much. It really is a splendid color :-)

JewelFreak: Isn't that secondary color nifty? Outdoors it shines really gorgeously. Thanks!

Jereni: I agree, that cut is superb. Just like a very similar faceted Tanzanite too. Different and well-designed. I'm glad you like the photoshopped ones - tried something a bit different.

Movie Zombie: Great taste in Tourmalines! I was wondering about ones from this locale and was not disappointed. Couldn't believe how nice the crystal was under the lens - thank you!

Sonyachancs: Thank you! Harsh lines softened up like a feather when adjusted. Thought it was unique. I'm not sure what to do with it yet, whether keep it as it is - or set it as a beautiful ring or pendant.

Chrono: Delicate in the studio, fireball in the sunlight. Kinda spectrally forceful. For the feathery pictures, I adjusted and played around in Photoshop to make them stand out - then softened them up a but - and distorted them. Like a lightening effect. Enhanced the saturation to make it like a neon glow. Kept the first one to show how it interpreted the flower petals. Thought it was dynamically unique. I'll keep trying some in the future if it is ok - varying the effect to create some interesting results.

Very cool stone & awesome photography!
