Awwww, thank you TL. What a sweet thing to say. I really appreciate great workmanship, but it''s often hard to find the optimal combination of budget, gem and setting. I guess we all struggle with that

About the moodiness, I''ve learned to like it. I like my jewelry to be symbolic in some way, and this violet spinel really captivates the personality of my husband (and Finnish people) so well. It''s changeable, sometimes fantastically vibrant and beautiful, at other times gray. Always interesting. I think I won''t upgrade this one again.

Chrono - yes this is one of my heirloom pieces. The workmanship is excellent, the best I''ve seen (as good as in my mother''s ring), the shank is white gold and the stone bezels are all in platinum, so they will hold with my engagement band. I''m pleased

megeve - that''s my mother''s ring, the finest piece of jewelry I own to this date.

I added a collage of gems that I''m either having set or on the way at the moment, these will all eventually be rings, teehee.
