Jennifer and DF, that is too funny about the pink shirts! I called my husband from the outlet mall last month and asked him if he would wear a pink sweater. He said, "I don''t think so." I whined, "Why not?!" He said, "Oh, okay." LOL...so I bought it for him and I love it on him! I also got him a pale purple polo shirt and he said that when he wears it to work, all the women go crazy.

Jennifer dear, WHAT is that ring in your avatar?

I''m 32 and find myself a bit unsure about what is appropriate for this age. . .like I bought a SHORT denim skirt at Lucky and wonder IS this okay??? Should i just wear this only at home since my husband likes it (lol!
2.gif
) or is this style acceptable for public even if I''m SO old!
7.gif

Also, I did recently sort of change my style and friends have commented on the subtle changes. I have to say in my 30s, I''ve discovered a bit more of who I am. Sometimes, I''ll be influenced by others'' ideals regarding life and philosophies, but I''m less and less so as I grow more into my Estee Lauder anti-aging creams.

STILL though, as I said, I''m not exactly sure what is okay clothing wise. . .

And you would/do look great in all the latest styles with your petitie figure and youthfullness! I''d say go with the flow and maybe just leave anything that shows too much of anything on the rack!

And DF, don''t you know that the SEXIEST thing is a man in a pink shirt....My husband has about 10 RL oxford and pique polos in shades of pink..yum yum!

I just saw the comments on the pink shirts and I asked hubby if he would wear one and of course he said "no, not because it''s pink, I just don''t like the color pink"
20.gif
I think I''ll buy him one anyway

I asked hubby if he would wear a pink shirt, his response:
"sure, I''ve had one before."

His co-worker often refers to my DH as a Metro-Sexual.

DF,

I think she had a chance when we got married..... Tuxs and websailors are not a high probabliity occurance... LOL!

She does try when we go on cruises....so far I''ve gone as far as a nice suit... I''m still open to the bribe of a very sexy dress (where''s the link to that Prom dress???) on her might warrant a tux on me.. Double LOL!!!

I tell her she sees all the men in tuxs that she needs to at every concert they play in....GRIN

Mid-life Crisis... To me this is a time when people go thru a period of looking at their lives, thinking about their past and their future. I don''t think I''ve ever had a full blown one, but I did have a time when I realized I''d never become the CEO.
6.gif

Shortly after that I did make some important career decisions that have governed my life.

I do sometimes go off by myself and think about my life. The most serious big change I made was when I was a teenager (which was about 3 mid life crisises ago from the way most of the folks here are talking - LOL!). That was one I''m very glad I went through.

There have been other times that I''ve made changes, but for the most part they have been within what I''d call my normal way of living.

Of course when my ex decided to leave
emunlove.gif
which ended up with us going thru the divorce process, that was a big change that caused a lot of inward looking and questioning. And a lot of unwelcome changes simply due to finances and the situation. But a lot of good came out of it too - had it not been for that, I would not have met cflutist. /idealbb/editor/cute/images/emlove.gif

A lot of other folks have said some valuable things thru this topic - I''m happy to be able to read their thoughts.

I got a tatoo when I turned 30! Does that count?

Only my husband can see it...

If you have the body for it, it''s okay. You just described my daily dilemma. I love short mini-skirts, flip-flops, and tank tops, but I often wonder if that''s apprpriate for someone my age (I''m 32 too), and ESPECIALLY for a mother of 2 toddlers....I have to end over to pick them up etc, not an easy task when you''re wearing a short skirt. So, I spend a lot of time debating in my closet, but in the end I usually opt to just wear what I want, and let the stares begin. I think the guys stare because they are wondering....could those kids possibly be hers? They women are thnking...what a scanky mommy grrrlll (insert clawing motion).

BTW, Are you talking about Estee Lauder''s Visible Difference? I slather on that cream every night! It works...I feel 25

jm, guys just stare because they CAN and they do it to any woman IMO!! the other day i was in Whole Foods wearing 2 layered tanks and a white prairie skirt with flip flops and i noticed all these men were staring at me as I walked by (it was lunch hour too so many were having lunch outside at their outdoor tables). I actually get irritated when men check me out so blatantly..is that supposed to be flattering? I am grocery shopping for god''s sake! Anyway....not like I was wearing a bared midriff or a miniskirt even, I felt like I was on the farm (well my version of it, hehee)..and yet got these bizarre stares.

So, short miniskirt or calf-grazing priaire skirt...it doesn''t seem to matter.
2.gif
Again I say wear what you want, that makes you feel comfortable and beautiful and you can''t go wrong. I''m not into the midriff baring, never have been, but hey...if you''ve got it...

I'm using Perfectionist [cp+] with poly-collagen peptides correcting serum which you put on trouble areas! lol Over this I'm using clinque repair wear (also a peptide cream). These are just at night. During the day, when I'm outside I'm using an E. Lauder antioxidant eye cream. My plan is a rotational one where I alternate to achieve a variety of benefits! lol My husband thinks I"m crazy so I've had to start hiding all the bottles in our linen closet! (currently I'm using at least 10 different things. . .my face may fall off!!!)

Oh, and I'll have to try viable difference too! lol

Well, I''m 45 and still wear a black short skirt. It''s not mini mini - but short. The thing with fashion is wear what is complimentary to your body style. And, wear it without feeling self conscious. That said, I don''t wear my short skirt with camisoles - a nice sweater set will do.
28.gif
And, It wouldn''t not be pretty sight - me in a bare midriff & low low slung pants.
6.gif
I think older women get into trouble when they try to be too trendy instead of wearing what suits you.

And, no - I''ve never had a mid-life crisis. At least one that I was aware of.

michelle i just posted a thread re: face creams and if you feel like they work...in the home and health area! hopefully others will chime in as well...does this stuff really work or am i just a big sucker?!?!

DF, Patty & Jennifer:

Any tips on getting my hubby to wear a pink polo or golf shirt? It would look so great on him! I came home with a pink oxford and this awesome tie with candy-colored dots... and he said, "No way. Take them back." He''s not typically a macho man; I was surprised.

I bought my DS (2) a deep pink polo shirt and it looks great on him with his khaki shorts.
9.gif
I wonder if when he''s a teenager he''ll cringe when he sees pics of himself in that color. Or maybe I''m "training" him to accept pink.

Try to get him to try it on--he may like how he looks in it. Or, show him this thread.

Or, tell him it turns you on and, well, reward him for wearing it.

Boy, can I relate! Just turned 35 in April. I've been dreading the birthdays since I was 30. I'm freaking out about wrinkles no one else can see because they just suddenly appeared and I hate the thought of not looking 25 anymore. We bought a house three months ago and it sort of panicked me because we have always lived a nomadic life in the military and this settling down thing seems so permanent. A chapter of my life has closed. My husband retires from the military in four years. Sometimes I think I have missed out on a lot. My husband and I got married at 18 and 19 and now at 34 and 35 we are the parents of teenagers for pete's sake! I feel like a stranger sometimes. Like, when did I get these almost-grown-up kids??? I've been struggling with this a lot lately.

edited to add: But I wouldn't trade any of them for the world, even the hubby.
2.gif
yeah....sounds like my wife, she forgot her age 15 yrs ago.

the nice thing about having kids when you're young is..... you finish parenthood earlier in life, there for you have many more yrs ahead to enjoy life together, while both of you are still young.i wish both of my kids were a few yrs older than they're now.
