Would this wear right? I mean doesn't it stand to reason that the outer rings are going to flair out away from the ring? Just as shown in photo? It is still fun though. I bet this ring looks absolutely the daintiest. Almost wirey.

OH MY GOSH, Door Knob, those last few are INSANE!!!!!! WHere are they from??

Yes more info please. I have never seen those rings before, wowza!!

Wowsers Door knob solitaire those rings are incredible!

In defense of the delicacy of the Daniel K splitshank, I did try one on in person and it is VERY delicate on. I have a size 5 finger just for reference.

I know these are not all cushions...I have others...but I was thinking of a cushion myself...and these were what I was hoping to plop my future fluffy "pillow" in.

The second one...the asscher/square stone...I think I want to mount my 2.11 round door knob in. hmmm.

I hope I didn''t offend anyone with the mutiple endless string of photos....( and the terrible horrible mispellings and typos, I was too excited to spell check...)

Well Mrssalvo,

Thank you for the photo posting class. You have created a ...well...a bling bat! I will be posting until 5 am! Hope some of them gave you some inspiration. I would love to know I helped you out, for once.

Door Knob

The door knob buyer is calling me...he has errands for me. Be back later!!

Door Knob --- I must know I must know -- who makes this one? Where can I find it online? Where where where? Thank you for any info!

Well...it is Stardustdiamonds.com http://www.stardustdiamonds.com/home.php

Shhhh...don''t tell anyone else...ok? Lets keep this our little secret...OK?

Change of subject: I would like to draw everyones attention to the photo Kerbear posted...does anyone know its orgin? Everyone look at it...it has been photoshoped. Don''t be offended, as I love the design myself...but I don''t think the ring actually exists. What was photoshoped or cropped out? Was the diamond a different shape? If you can''t see what I am referring to, look at the cross bar of the basket...see the gray sqiggly paint line? What was there? Whomever photoshoped didn''t have much skill with the computer program... but has an incredible eye for ring design. I love that head and scale. So, any one know who did it? Again, no offense intended...actually I am expressing kutos for the design. And then attemping to search out the ring for my project. Oh, my apologies for the hijack.

you are 100% correct..a little microsoft paint anyone??

Found it...guywithrings story

Thanks for getting to the bottom of this! When I asked who the designer of that setting was in a thread awhile back ago, I was told it was a Cartier. But, like I said, I couldn''t find it on their website, and there wasn''t anything like it at the Cartier boutique! Mystery solved!

Mrssalvo, with all of the beautiful options you posted, and all of the stunning settings others have posted for you to consider, you have a tough choice on your hands! But, I think that no matter what you decide your ring will be gorgeous!!!

Good heavens, how do you decide. I have to say the newest contenders, thank you Door Knob, are to die for. I''m glad they are in your area, mrssalvo. You''ll have to let us know how they look in person.

i agree, definitely some amazing pieces displayed here...I anxious to find out more info about the company Door Knob posted. I'm going to be spending a little time trying to find out about the quality of their settings etc. If anyone has any experience with them feel free to post the info here.

Board my apologies...sorry about the drool issue!

I really don''t know anything about StardustDiamonds other than the fact they are only available in our regions most elite jewelry stores. I have attempted to obtain a price through three different stores...and have never gotten a return reply from the sales department of these retailers. You should know I am asking for a semimount, but one would assume if a semimount was not available they would at least inform. I placed a second call today to my local store and wont hear from them until Monday...but of course we have been through this once before.

However I did email Ari direct at Stardust...got a very kind email and was encouraged to call if I desired any further assistance. Very eager to assist. I did learn the n1709 (the second ring with the square stone) is available for any shape stone...and that you can custom and remove some pave on shank if desired. But didn''t learn the price. You know how designers usually ask that you contact a retailer...Monday I will call and will post my results.

I came across their website months ago through my late late night exhaustive internet searches. I found there were so many jewelers that had incredible and informative websites...sites that you can''t find through normal keyword searches. Oh, I have not seen the pieces in person.

Door Knob

thanks door knob. Kaleigh and i are going to try and go check out some of the settings in person. Well report back out findings and compare notes. I started another thread asking about the company to see if we might find out some more info that way. the settings are truly amazing but i would like to know more about the company who makes them. i also find it interesting that it seems that none of the PS vendors carry the line. i don''t know if that means anything or not but i''ll enjoy trying to find out

Lovelylulu,

Glad to have been of service to you! Poo Huh?

Shay,

As I was reading your post I have you pictured....well....as a raving lunatic! Running around your computer with your arms flaling in the air, stomping your feet, leaving behind a trail of frothey drool. By all means...there will be a Shay warning in the future. We have got to redeem your reputation.

I am a raving lunatic on the proposal board...I cry like a baby every time.

Glad everyone like them. And I am very sorry to have added confusion to Mrssalvo decision. I did it for selfish reasons...I too want a cushion and thought I could vicariously get my cushion fix through hers.

DKS

Door Knob,
Ya come on here and act all innocent, needing advice blah blah and all this time you''ve had the keys to the motherlode. SERIOUSLY. Those rings were OUTRAGEOUS. I looked through that whole dern site with my mouth open.

If I haven''t officially welcomed you yet. WELLLLLLCOME!

Deco

(And Mssalvo .. GOOD LUCK! Ommigod the choices keep coming. Each more lovely than the next ... though I do admit a small preference for my dear Daniel K split crown, my first cushion love)

Deco,

I agree the choices seem endless. I really do love all the settings posted here and would be happy with any of them
9.gif
I agree though, something about those daniel k''s just speak to me..and the split crown you posted is creeping it''s way to the top of my list. i actually showed a pictue to hubby, which a rarely do because he just rolls his eyes and laughs, knowing i''ll change my mind in a few days, and he really liked it. he thought it was very dainty looking and still had the feel of a solitaire which he loves but some added sparkle which I love
2.gif
i''m so looking forward to December when i can drool over all these settings in person
36.gif

I''m late getting in on this, but I like the Daniel K. split shank. I don''t think you would have to wear a thing with it. To me, the split shank implies a wedding and e-ring together even though you could wear a band stacked with it if you wanted to.

What lovely choices. I wouldn''t turn any of them down.
30.gif

Hi Mrs. S!

No I didn''t go ring shopping yet but the big day is FRIDAY. Woo-hoo! Only 3 more awfully hectic and stressful days and then it''s PRETTY SHINIES TIME!
36.gif
And of course I''ll post a report on PS.

Deco,

I purposely held those back to shake you out...I hoped it would be enough to get a welcome out of you!
It worked! Thanks for the welcome...and am sorry for holding out on you. It is nice to meet you!

There has been an update on this subject...the post is (stardustdiamonds.com anyone heard of them?) (Mrssalvo authored the post)

I still like the one from Pearlmans it is just stunning!
original.aspx

I agree Matatora, that graduated stone size is stunning. Simple idea...but I had never seen it prior to that ring.

DKS

Rivera Ring at Pearlmans Is it not just so obvious and yet...well I guess that is why the designers get paid the big bucks! This ring is 9,800$!!!! Though I think it would be worth every single penny.
30.gif

How does one pick just one ring????
I love that Bill Perlman graduated ring- has anyone seen it?

Anika

Mrsalvo,

I don''t think I''ve posted (I hadn''t decided which setting I preferred) but....

I JUST WENT INTO A FEEDING FREENZY BLOOD LUST over the sqaure one with the side swoopy things......I think I need an upgrade. NOW.

So that one is my choice (obviously

i actually saw that one in my brief visit to pearlman''s a couple of weeks ago. It is UNBELIEVABLE

in person. I think that one needs a 2 carat or larger center stone which is probably larger than I would go in a round. I will definitely put it on my list to try on when I go back...

Oh, now i''m more confused than ever
