Just wondering what mom's and mom's to be got for Mother's Day. My kids bought me a wonderul pair of Gucci sunglasses. (they are older..12 and 9, and boys, so that is impressive that they shopped!) Not a gret pic, but you can see them on top of my head. We also went for lunch together. How did everyone else celebrate, or if you aren't a mom, maybe you did something speical for your mother? It's a nice sunny day here for a change, so that makes today even better! (and I finally can wear sunglasses...lol)

My 2 yr old picked out and "wrapped" a set of bubbles for me. It''s a long wand with a big tray to make giant bubbles. And, it''s pink!

My kids are little (8, 5 & 3)...my oldest made me a coupon book at school with some cute coupons that I can exchange for: breakfast in bed, setting the table, taking out the trash...etc. My 5 year old made me a cute card and poem at school, along with a clothes pin butterfly. My youngest climbed into my bed during the night, so I woke up to her telling me "Happy Mothers Day Mommy"! I had a wonderful breakfast made for me and a card from my hubby and kids. That is it!

I love bubbles SomethingShiny, and it''s something mommy and child can do together. DiamondDana, the things that kids make in school are the BEST gifts aren''t they? Mine are getting too old for that now..but I remember the hand painted items, homemade cards..etc. I have kept all those things over the years. Some teachers have the best ideas, and are so creative! My youngest brought home some seeds for "snap dragons"..I''m don''t have a green thumb, and will havet of find out if I plant them outside, or in a pot inside..I hope I can make them grow..so as NOT to disappoint my son!

My husband and son picked out a beautiful petunia hanging plant for me. It''s absolutely huge! By far the biggest hanging plant I''ve owned, with deep purple flowers. Later, we are taking my grandmother out for dinner tongiht and she is very excited!

Beau~ Snapdragons are really easy. I''d start them inside and then transfer them outside, though. Just plant them in a styrofoam cup with potting soil. Use your thumb to push them down in the soil a bit and water. Voila! Snapdragons.

diamondsrock~ I''ve been looking for a giant petunia, but around here, they all seem scraggly. Enjoy them!

I got my mom cupcakes. She didn''t want anything but because she''s sick and has lost 25 lbs in the past couple of months, so I figured I''d try to tempt her with something high in calories.

DH and DS got me a beautiful bracelet for mother''s day and DH got me a jewelry "portfolio" to take when we travel. I also got breakfast in bed, a clean house and a family dinner made by DH tonight!! DS made me a flower with his name in the center at preschool and a home made card too!

I got my mom a Coach purse she had been eyeing-her bday is Friday so it''s a 2 in 1 gift-She loved it

Canon SD 1100 from my husband. Very cool. He also made me breakfast and my son gave me a camera case and big hugs and kisses! The best!

Well, with my PP coming soon I was expecting much but I did get to sleep in, flowers and three cards. One from DH, one from DD (written in his left hand to look like kid''s writing), and one from our cats. Plus he picked up dinner.

Beau ,
Awwww~ nice sunglasses!

Both my kiddos were home this weekend. One home from college, the other, graduated and now working.

My daughter made fresh buckwheat pancakes for me, I love ''em. Then she gave me an array of products infused with French
Lavender - my new found craze! French Organic Lavender Honey, Lavender Almond Skin Oil, Lavender Scrub Soap Bar (great!),
Lavender Cleaner, Dried Lavender Bunch, so pretty, Lavender Tea.

My son gave me a portable iPod Speaker Dock. I wanted something I could take out to the pool or to travel with.
It sounds awesome! Great job son!

Hubby gave me some Pandora beads, now I get to start another bracelet.

Also went shopping with daughter on Sat. and bought lots of fun things. I bought both of us
purses at Banana Republic, along with some other goodies.

I don't have kids, but my husband and I went and spent the weekend with my mother. I made her a spinach and potato frittata for breakfast on Sunday. I gave her a double strand pearl bracelet to replace the one I lost 30 or so years ago and which I had totally forgot about until she reminded me recently. Sorry mom!

I gave my mom PJs and a corsage to wear to a concert Sat night/ church and a restaurant Sunday. She the day with my sister in another state (sister did the legwork on the corsage on my behalf.) My 4 yr old son gave me a homemade card and my husband framed some of said child''s original artwork. Hubby gave me flowers and a gift card to a spa. Other than anything my son makes me, my favorite mother''s day gift I got when he was 4 months old. A beautiful quilt. I have lots of memories cudding together in it!

My hubby got me a card [after all the sparklies he''s gotten me lately I gave him the day off

]. My daughter gave me a pretty beaded wind chime for my garden and some sugar free candy and a card. We spent the day at my brother-in-laws and had a great time.

I had a barbecue in my backyard for my family (mom and dad, sister & BIL and 2 year old nephew). I gave my mom flowers and I housekeeping service. It was a wonderful day yesterday. I had my 2 year old nephew take out the ice cream in nice glass bowls but I told him to be very careful. He was so cute and walked slowly and carried the bowls with both hands. When he handed them to each person he said "whoa." lol! Kids are the cutest!!!!

Hope all you mom's had a Wonderful Mother's day

Beau nice sunglasses!!! You are very pretty btw!

DH and I don''t have our families living nearby so there were no celebrations to host yesterday. I sent my mom a blood orange tree, which she loved.

My three year old woke up crying this morning because she thought she had missed the "mommy''s day party". She was expecting a big party with lots of people, ballons, cake, etc.

On Sunday my kiddos (8, 6 and 3) gave me gifts they had made in school. My 8 year old gave me a flower with a clip that holds recipes. My 6 year old gave me a shoe spray painted gold with a flower in it. On Wedneday my 3 year old gave me a cute little box of sayings taped to different items (ie "I like it when we are silly together" taped to a bag of peanuts) but she ate all the edible items on the ride home from preschool. :) We went to lunch and my husband gave me shopping money and I went shopping BY MYSELF! Wonderful day.

I have enjoyed reading this thread.I lost my mother 3 years ago and mothers day had been a difficult holiday since then.To remember her on mothers day I wore the gold bracelet and gold signet ring she bought me as birthday gifts. As people asked about them at church and then dinner,I could enjoy the gifts she gave me.

I don't have a mom to share mother's day with either...but my mother in law is wonderful, and just like a mother to me! That is awesome, that you have a bracelet and ring to remember her by, and wear as a reminder. Skippy and krisvern..thanks for the compliment. I love all ths different ways everyone spent mother's day..I enjoyed reading everyone's post!

My Nanny died on Mother''s day, she was a Mom to me. It''s 2 years now. Can''t believe it.

I was given a beautiful Mother''s day by Hubby and the kids. We went to the Four Seasons for Brunch. The kids gave me the most wonderful cards, written with such love and thoughtfulness.. Rob gave me Molton Brown Products, Ash gave me a gift certificate to my favorite store. Plus she made me a CD of her fave songs, I love her taste in music. Hubby gave me gorgeous flowers and a sweet card. We took MIL and FIL to brunch and had a wonderful day.

Have you ever been called "cuter than a speckled pup in a little red wagon"??

That''s pretty cute too!

btw- my son''s nickname is Bug. It started when he was collicky. I would have him all swaddled tight and he was "snug as a bug in a rug" and of course, "cute as a bug" and he was so sweet he was a "love bug", so Bug he became.

NOPE..haven''t ever heard that saying either. I guess in Canada, we use one word only to describe people...lol. "Attractive".."stunning".."babe".."hot"..."sweet"..."adorable"..those are words that come to mind when I describe men mostly..lol. Like to keep the description short and to the point! Anyway..getting off topic here...so any other mother''s day stories to share??

My birthday was on Mother''s Day. My own mom died 10 years ago, so to be honest, I don''t really even think about the day so much. My MIL lives very far away. I actually managed to remember to buy the card well in advance this year though! I am so bad at remembering about Mother''s Day and Father''s Day because I don''t have my parents anymore.

I was going to post a pic of my MD/BD bling I got. I told my husband I had to have a new purse watch--one you clip to your purse. I''m really anal about *always* having a watch on me even if I''m not wearing one. I told him there was one at the local engraving kiosk at the mall that I liked. As added punishment, I told him I wanted it engraved. He absolutely hated this whole idea, because the watch was only $15 and he didn''t want the vendor to think he was being super cheap. But bless his heart, he went out and got it, and had it engraved "Love you, "DH''s name". LOL! I only wanted my monogram, but this was so sweet! The clerk must have thought he was nuts or insanely cheap, but really, it means the world to me, so funny. My kids spoiled me, because DH wasn''t home at all this weekend. They even made me breakfast in bed--no one ever does that for me! It was good.

Hehehe, that is SO cute!!

My mum hates any of us spending money on her (be it birthday, Christmas, whatever) so I made a donation to the Diabetes Institute of Australia (she's insulin dependent) in her name, and gave her the receipt in a card. She was very touched, and couldn't get snarky with me spending money on her, 'cos I really spent it on someone else!

And on Monday I gave her a cute little Oregano potplant, so she couldn't get annoyed about that either having told me she didn't want anything for Mother's Day, because it wasn't Mother's Day anymore! I fixed her good

She's a darling woman!

Oh, and for me Mother's Day (from my dogs) I received a dead mouse on the back step
