My Antque French Ruby Diamond ring just arrived!

Hi guys,
Thought I would share my last purchase for quite a while.
My French Ruby diamond ring. Set in 18ct Gold with French markings on outside of shank. Said to be 1920-30s
Ruby is gorgeous red pink colour of 2 carat. Clarity is wonderful.
It’s a perfect flower design with 12 diamonds totalling 1.20ct
I wish I knew the stories of who owned this ring prior. The French lady had great taste that’s for sure.

I bought her online. The website was all in French and had to use my iphones translator lol.
I also paid via credit card. All very risky but it paid off. It was sent safely with DHL but had to pay import taxes. It took exactly one week to arrive and ended up being even more beautiful in person than the photos. Has a little wear on the facets which is understandable for it’s age which you only notice with a loupe or direct sun but wow the Ruby has amazing sparkle and clarity. Down the track I may get the Ruby polished by a gem cutter but for now I’m enjoying her just as she is.

Delaware is our second smallest state, but that was extremely close for being on a different continent! I'm in Rhode Island.

Another good deal just appeared online. I’m definitely gonna stop spending now.
This Ruby Ring from Hardy Brothers which is a very well known jewellers that is Australia's oldest continuously operating fine jeweller, was founded in 1853 by John Hardy, an Englishman who arrived in Sydney, and has a history of serving Australian leaders and families, including British sovereigns, with a Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen.
Anyhow the seller changed her mind twice about selling it to me. She bought the ring in 2011 and never has worn it. Said it’s too sentimental and she just sold again to me last night.
Here it is. Fingers crossed she posts it today.
