Jcrow,

I LOVE your bridal portraits. You look beautiful and the background was just perfect as well. Is your Reem in Ivory or White?

I was just recently dress shopping and have fallen in love with a Reem Acra dress myself and am trying to decide between the two colors. it's so hard because there are practically no Reem Acra samples in white and i'm unsure of the contrast in colors between the crystals/beading against the white background. they look great in Ivory but I think I'm set on getting married in a white dress. *sigh*

Did you end up getting yours in Houston? I've tried some on at both Saks and Louise Blum and the one I'm in love with is at Saks but Louise Blum is having a trunk show soon. Also, the service at Saks has been much better so I'd like to give the lady there the sale. dilemma...
DL
my dress is white. i was like you and knew i wanted WHITE. i did get it in houston at louise blum. i found the opposite was true, that the service was awesome at louise blum and NOT at saks. keep in mind that louise blum can get whatever dress (if they carry the brand) in if you do decided to go there. also, be sure to get the price at each place for the exact gown you want. if there is a large difference, use it to your advatage. and one more thing to think about, does saks have bridesmaid dresses? i ended up getting out BM dresses at louise blum too even though i searched other places.

what dress are you interested in?

Jcrow,

Oh okay, I''m glad that yours is in white -- it''s so beautiful that I feel relieved. As for the service difference between the two places, I think it just depends on the salesperson. The one I had at Louise Blum was just not that helpful -- she did the minimum but then it may have just been a bad day for her. The lady who helped me at Saks was just super sweet and was especially helpful.

I narrowed it down to Lush and a newer style, Lovey Dovey, but it''s Lovey Dovey that I am completely in love with- I just love everything about it. I feel like I should look around some more just to be sure though.

I''m okay with getting the bridesmaid dresses at a different location from my dress since most of my bms are in other cities and they''d have to get it shipped to them.

I''ll wait and see what kind of price the dress comes in at the trunk show before deciding whether I''ll buy it from Saks or Louise Blum. Both places had Lush and it was $500.00 cheaper at Saks but LB didn''t have Lovey Dovey so I wasn''t able to get a price comparison.

Do you remember how much your alterations cost at LB? Saks has a flat fee pricing which includes unlimited alterations, 2 pressings (one for bridal portraits) and delivery on wedding day. I''m not sure what LB offers in that regards.

Thanks for your help!

DL

i don''t remember exactly the alterations cost. but the price included at least 3 fittings. plus it was stored before and pressed for my bridal pics. then we took it back for it to be spot cleaned and pressed again and stored until my last fitting a couple of weekends before the wedding. the storing, pressing and cleaning were free. LB also threw in a free veil- which i got to choose. well, actually it was money towards my veil, but the veil i chose was a tad over and they gave it to me free. they gave us discounts on the BM dresses as well.

Jcrow, you look beautiful! The pictures are breathtaking. Your soon to be husband will be completely speechless when he sees you on your wedding day for sure!

Jcrow,

Do you mind telling me who helped you at Louise Blum? Would it be overly rude for me to return there but use a different saleslady you think? The other lady was just, for a lack of a better word, ''lazy'' about helping out with the dresses, etc. I may give her another chance but she was just so much worse than ladies who helped me at 3 other stores. *sigh*

Thanks!

Leila- ha! that's the goal right?!

diamondlove- i had melanie. but she is leaving. i received a letter in the mail that someone else was going to be my lady now. i don't remember who the new girl is cause i haven't had to work with her yet. oh, and another thing about LB (i don't really care who you buy from, i'm just letting you know my experience) they have a veil shop. a lady that makes veils. so you can purchase the high end brand name veils or if you know what you want - like me - you can have one made for way less.

hey Jcrow,

Thanks for your help and advice regarding Louise Blum. I am ordering my Reem Acra dress from LB this week! I''m super excited. Now I''ll just be anxiously waiting for it to be made and arrive in the next 3-4 months. I am also having my veil made through them -- I think I''m getting the cascading cathedral length veil with satin trim.

Is it Linda who did your alterations there?

jcrow: your shots would be amazing in any of those mags!! i hope they choose you!!

ok jcrow. my jaw totally dropped when i saw the first few photos. and i couldn''t close my mouth, i swear. you look so absolutely amazing. your fiance will cry. AND YOU KNOW WHAT''S FUNNY?!!! i was thinking to myself, there''s no way i can wear a dress like that, i''m only 5'' tall. AND THEN YOU SAID YOU WERE 5'' TALL TOO! i was scanning all the subsequent posts, convinced that you were joking with us and that you were going to come out and say, "ok i''m 5''8. sorry short girls." so it''s not a joke?

anyway, you look just perfect. i think your wedding is soon? i hope your wedding day is perfect too and i cannot wait to see you looking tall in all your wedding pictures.

sorry i didn''t respond earlier...

but, i truely am only 5'' and hubby is 6''
take a look at our non pro pics (it''s under jcrow''s non pro pics)
you can see how short i am compared to him. and i''m in 4" heels!! sheesh!

i started out looking for a ballgown dress. i''m SOOOO glad that i ended up going with an a-line. i think it helped me look taller next to my husband. it drew the eye up instead of down where a huge skirt would be. so you could totally pull a dress like this off!
