I know! I just hadn’t had time to process amidst that bracelet beauty!Hauynite rings were first spotted by Seaglow, of course!
@Burmesedaze do you find the price of jewellry goes up in general or mainly the price of CS?
I just love those Tahitians. Those are my favorite, but all are beautiful. One could stare at the gentle subtlety of the different colors forever.

@Burmesedaze What do you think is driving up the prices? Scarcity of gems or higher demand? A bit sad to read that even though I’m not surprised.
I need to somehow make it happen in the coming years. I’ve been restrained with gem shopping lately with 2 of my 4 kids so close to college, one studying overseas this year, and the other next year, but I also need gem joy in my life lol!@Bluegemz the prices just go up every show. I don't earn USD$ so I really feel it. Better to go earlier than later. There are sellers out to cut throat and others just want to sell to recoup cost with decent margins. Or to just put themselves out there. But no one is overly pushy. Except for the salesman working for one of the booths from my home country which I told him off nicely today that I didn't like his sales tactics coz he was mouthing off bollocks.
The diamonds bangles and bracelets differ a lot in price booth to booth for similar designs though Seaglow's one is the only one carried by that stall. I bow once again to her non pareil negotiation skills
Scarcity yes. Probably affluenza too
The internet, media, social media and even PS all fuel demand don't they? Passion, hobby, status symbol, collectors, speculators, expectations, the list goes on.
I wonder if there will be a renewed emerald craze after Crazy Rich Asians. Astrid's earrings were rubbish, though.
They are so pretty! I can imagine that sensuous cab set in a neglige type style in which it dangles down lengthwise, almost like a tassel. Maybe even with another one of similar shape, same or different color, maybe even with tiny pearls. Also, those little ones would be gorgeous as a cluster, set tightly together. I imagine it would look almost edible, like the seeds of a pomegranate. Kind of like how bohemian garnets were set. The examples are mostly older styles, but one could do these setting ideas in a very modern way!
@Burmesedaze, hi, you and this thread are the reason I've become obsessed with cabs, so... thanks? (My wallet doesn't thank you though). This is actually my favourite thread on ps. I met you and @Seaglow by chance at the gem museum a couple years ago. My friend who is still living in Yangon is ready to buy a sapphire. She lost your card about a week after meeting you but really wants to make contact. Would you mind contacting me through my old lt listing? If you're not up for it that's totally fine too! BUT If you are ok to contact me, my lt handle is the same as here; 737lizakg ( so inventive!). Oh, and my small stones that I bought from snow white are still sitting unset, waiting for me to decide what to do with them!
I'm waiting for more photos and only have this video.
But I think this 19ct blue Mogok star sapphire has potential
I’m just distracted by that nail! It looks so healthy! I wonder how long it would take to grow mine that long...
