Tired, just got back and I have an early start to work tmw.

Bought pumpkin set. Not jadeite. River stone, agate, albite etc. Mix.

Prices you can enlarge and see for yourself..a mix of reasonable and silly. I won't comment on prices anymore. Too tired.

China Chinese dominated top end stuff at market. I saw awesome lavender and glassy jadeite. They were video streaming the wares live with their phones on stands to clients in China to transact while traders waited. Very smart, middlemen fees and no capital outlay. Payment via alipay or wechat I think from their clients.

It just amazes me the advances in technology that allow us to share your fabulous adventure in real time from thousands of miles away. When I was a kid a trip of less than fifty miles to the seaside took most of the day, and the visit was shared with Granny and Grandad via picture postcards that took days to be delivered!

We think they are not sure if it's really jadeite or other minerals. But it's unique alright! Not seen this yellow before.

It just amazes me the advances in technology that allow us to share your fabulous adventure in real time from thousands of miles away. When I was a kid a trip of less than fifty miles to the seaside took most of the day, and the visit was shared with Granny and Grandad via picture postcards that took days to be delivered!

I am equally at the access the traders have to the outside world and realtime buyers now because of technology too. It has changed the manner and tradition of trade alright.

Possibly jacked up prices too!

Sapphire mine auntie opened a small new shop at Gem Museum today. Basket of flowers from me and we had fun with gems on it.

Sapphires are from their mines and cut by their cutters.

They have also collected old stones and old goldsmith work over the years. The quality shows.

They have cute owls too. Pretty modern and better workmanship with moulds.

I purchased a lavender jadeite necklace. Beads are big at 12-13mm.

I think the owls make awesome souvenirs. They invested in the mould so the workmanship is VERY GOOD. Small shop space, just 3 display cases

That's a very light lavender Mogok sapphire. Got it my first year here 3 something carats but faces up much bigger.

Quick scuttle to my jewellers and came away with this small strand of blue green jadeite beads. Pretty unusual colour with good water. Some cracks to be expected.

Stuff from the livestream. I have done the torch test on them to check for cracks or nasty surprises. Happy to report this first batch despatched is fine.

I am VERY HAPPY with the red jade. Will send it in to test if it's A.

I found these 2 strands of darker blue jadeite beads at my jeweller's today. It's probably the same mine as the blue hulu and flowers from livestream.

Love this kind of interesting blue. That’s the color range I got in my darker blue bangle, though mine is not as toned. It’s so nice that you got a set. I didn’t think I’d ever find a set to go with the bangle but now I know that when the time comes, it is possible I especially like the carved earrings. So mysterious.
