#JOTW My Custom HPD "Symphonie" ring with 2.793 F-VS1 CBI diamond

The execution of the minute, yet distinctly noticeable changes in the ring design are spot on! Stunningly graceful!

Utterly gorgeous!! :appl: Well done, Cflutist! :D

@cflutist, these photos are killing me!! It's just gorgeous! BTW, what is your finger size?? It looks HUGE on you!!!! ;)

Size 4.5 which is a little loose except when I was on the cruise (lots of sodium in their food) :lol:

I though you might have a smaller finger!! ;)

Your ring and bracelets are just gorgeous, I love the changes you made to the setting and the quality of the workmanship. It really makes a big difference, and the stone is stunning!

@CarbonBling
I am sorry for having "poor hands". My hands are 60+ years old. Skin loses its elasticity as we age. Here is a photo of my hands taken in 2007 when they were 50+ years old.
June2007.JPG

They seem to have aged quite a bit in 10 years and my right pinky has arthritis now.
(That is an old 1.50 ct F-VS1 Marquise diamond with 24 princess cuts that I don't wear anymore).

While I appreciate your helpful intent, after 60+years of life, these hands feel great. They have performed perfectly for me. The still make beautiful music with my 14K rose gold flute. And my husband loves them, as he does me. I suppose, after six decades, these hands have earned the lovely sparklers I am fortunate to be able to put on them now.

These three photos from @Wink and @HPDJME are my favorite so far. Working with @Winks_Elf was such a joy to finalize my design. You can really see the fine polish and quality of the HPD Lux H&A melee in the 2nd photo.

The last photo in this series is my favorite photo of your beautiful ring! :love: It highlights the precise, crisp facets of the diamond and the graceful, elegant setting.

I keep drooling over your diamonds and I only WISH my hands look as good as yours in the future. I'm not sure why that was even brought up but seriously stunning hands and diamonds. Duh!

Ps: I'm working on having your ultimate baby baby sister from CBI probably around 1.2cts but I'm upgrading from .70cts and my original is from a different vendor. I just LOVE yours and hope to get there one day:kiss2:. I hope that's ok?!

Would love to have you join the CBI family. Wink tells me that there is someone who has upgraded about 4 times now.

@Lula

I have been saving these because they are my favorite photos, because you are also a member of the CBI family I am going to post them early. I just love how Jamie captured the dispersion and fire of my 2nd CBI diamond and the exceptional polish of my HPD custom ring.

Your collection is just stunning, cflutist, but I gasped out loud when I read about your flute! :love: Would you mind telling us more about it? Maybe even some photos?? It sounds absolutely incredible.

@cflutist, again, my sincerest apologies. I understand how my comment came across in the wrong light. As a nascent PSer I'm afraid I've made my first, and hopefully my last, blunder. I'm sorry to hear of your pinky; I hope that doesn't inhibit your playing. I was raised on classical music, and love how it can carry you, tell a story, communicate that which words cannot. Which are your favorite compositions? Composers? KUSC is always on in our home. I'll now think of you (and your exquisite collection :love:) when I hear the wind instruments.

Those last two pictures are amazing. I am absolutely smitten with the slight sweetheart curvature where the shank meets the head (I can think of no other way to describe it :))). And, as you pointed out, the polish is just amazing!

@CarbonBling I appreciate the apology. No harm done.

As far as my flute, I have played since 7th grade, had a scholarship to study at the SF Conservatory of Music, until my mother told me to get a real job.
Thus a change in majors to Business Information Systems, a wonderful career and retirement at age 54 as a VP Software Engineering (that allows me to buy lots of diamonds :lol: ).

@luckyblackcat
I have three different flutes, one that I take camping, a professional quality backup flute that I play outdoors, and my 14K Rose Gold flute that I use for rehearsals and concerts.

My flute collection, the extra long one is an Alto flute, followed by my camping and backup flute, a piccolo, a fife, and Irish flute.

Your rose gold flute is out of this world!!! It looks so dreamy and sublime!! :love::love::love:

Woohooo!!! What a gorgeous result. I love the stunning stone and I love the thoughtfully designed setting.
You have beautiful hands and a gorgeous diamond collection.

Cflutist, the new ring is absolutely breathtaking! I love that you can almost see the entire side profile of that WHITE, WHITE stone! I would be staring from that angle ALL day long!

And that 14K rose gold flute...:o I'm speechless!!! I also played the flute back in my younger days, but my skills never got me anywhere beyond my high school band. How often do you perform professionally?

I actually retired as a VP Software Engineering, but play Principal Flute in a Community College Orchestra, so I don't get paid to play.
Thanks for the kind words.

If it were a smaller stone, then you could see the entire pavillion with a 4-prong mounting. But for any diamond over 2 cts, I prefer the safety of 6 prongs. I once sat through a 3hr orchestra rehearsal with a 2.05 D-VS2 diamond in my pocket that fell out of a 4-prong mounting. :eek2:

Gah! Absolutely beautiful!!

Wow!!!! What a beauty! Congrats, too, on the amazing design. You must be over the moon with two CBIs!

It is simply gorgeous!

I am headed on a cruise in December , after years of refusing to go on any. (The idea of being on a ship far from land and with thousands of strangers still scares me) I am debating whether to wear some of my rings or get a cz. I’ve been told several of the ports are not safe to go on your own and to stay in the tourist areas. Did you feel safe at the ports and on the boat?

It all depends on where you are going. I felt perfectly safe in Norway, French Polynesia, Alaska, the Caribbean. Mexico not so much. There are safes in the cabins for your use if you should decide to not wear it on shore.
