steph do you mind if I ask who does that dress, it is really beautiful I think I have looked at it like a gazzilion times
I don''t mind at all! It''s Casablanca 1860. It''s a little bit of an older style of theirs (Spring 2007) so I did have a bit of trouble finding it in stores to try on, but I called around until I found a salon that specifically had it.

Thanks Steph, I haven't seen any casablanca dresses around here (Australia) but I can't help looking at your dress it is so beautiful

I feel like a dress stalker :P

ETA I just found a store down in Victoria good thing I am going down there shortly

Deelight, it''s funny, because I found this dress on a wedding blog and was stalking it there while I tried on dresses elsewhere and finally decided I couldn''t make my final decision until I tried on this one. And boy am I glad I did.

So I''m glad the stalking trend is continuing - let me know if you get to try it on!

I called the store and the salesgirl assured me that letting it out would not be a problem with as little tweaking as I need. I need to stop letting my mother get me so freaked out about wedding stuff! Now to just wait six months or so so I can get the alterations started!

You look beautiful!

wow that dress looks so classy and unique at the same time - you look absolutely lovely!

Steph, your dress is beautiful! You look great! I think you should be fine with having it altered. Sorry to sound redundant, but I agree with the ladies about alterations.

:) it is a good thing you did, really that dress looks amazing on you :). I was telling FI I saw this beautiful dress on a PS girl last night and OMG how stunning it was and I have to try it on but am not sure it will look as beautiful as it did on her - the dress is stunning :).

I am so glad the SA put your mind at ease :), I will hopefully be down in Victoria in Sept and hopefully they have that dress to try on

Love the detailed lace and beautiful line of the dress. It looks amazing on you!

I''m a lurker here (already married, jusut love all things wedding!) and want to add my voice to those that alterations can do magic on a dress.

My dress was also a casablanca (1859) that was heavily embroidered and beaded, and though mine wasn''t let out, but taken in, there was NOTHING noticeably different that anyone would notice. I was scared out of my mind that tehe mbroidery wouldn''t match up and that it would ruin the dress. It turned out just fine. So stay calm and let the seamstress do her thing.

It also definitely IS possible to lose/gain weight around the ribcage, overall weight loss will shrink you overall.

Be sure to come back and show us teh finished product once it''s altered and fits perfectly!

and best wishes for your upcoming wedding!

~
