Hi Guys,
Since I took my Great Great Grandmother center stone and reset it, I knew I needed another appraisal for the new solitaire(insurance purposes). I took it in to the same place that I originally went to, and asked if they could tell me anything about the measurements of the stone. It came back to be a .84 this time, instead of a .82 color and clarity are the same and fluorescence is none.
Measurements are 6.19-6.22x 3.60mm
The Man/store owner is a GIA graduate and he actually came out to talk to me. He said it is a very good quality stone. I asked him about the cut and he said its not the best but its not "Very Poor" like Tom told me it was. Maybe Tom was just trying to get me to buy his eight star diamond because he kept saying what a poor cut mine is.
(Tom is the guy in Hawaii I bought my E band from)
The gemologist also told me there is only one little feather in there keeping it a VS2. He said if that was not there it would probably be a VVS2!! Its very small and right under the griddle. That's the only thing in the stone he said.
I am so glad I took it in again and I'm glad of the outcome.
I also expressed to him my concerns about my e band. I told him that I believed Tom sold me lower than VS stones. He took a look at it and said actually they are very nice stones are they do match my center stone. but he also confirmed my suspicion and did say a couple stones are a little dirty.
What do these measurements mean?
