My engagement ring is finally finished!

So romantic!!

Wow, really pretty! So unique and dainty and it looks amazing on your hand. I really love it. Congrats!!

I love it! It's so pretty I want to kiss it! I do like a whole carat - perfect for size 5.5 finger. I bet it really sparkles! And that vintage-style setting is so soft and pretty. The design makes me think of flowers and meadows and lace.

Congratulations Beautiful ring :!: :appl:

your setting is so delicate and feminine, very unique. Love it!!!

Very pretty ring, congratulations on your engagement :wavey:

What a pretty setting !!!
And your diamond is beautiful as well !!!

I had actually been considering that setting for a future project,
but the pictures on the website don't really do it justice I think....
It looks delicate and gorgeous in real life and especially on your hand.
It really makes the diamond the star of the show, sets it off beautifully !!!!

It's simply stunning and I love the setting!

Well done! :appl:

Thank you!! :)

I finally got my camera working! I don't see a way to delete the old photos unfortunately. If that can be done then please let me know.

Here's the new pics :)

OK now I'll stop spamming in here. :)

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments! I'm so excited I just can't contain it!!

WOW!!!! This is so beautiful, delicate, and feminine -- GORGEOUS! And you have very pretty hands, BTW... =)

Hi there ... I just wanted to pop in and say that I think your ring is absolutely gorgeous! So well done, and congratulations to you :appl:

It's sooo pretty :lickout: :loopy:

Oh I love your ring! The setting is gorgeous and so delicate. It looks perfect on your hand. What are you going to do for a wedding band?

Thank you!!

I'm thinking of going with a band in a similar design but not matching completely.

Maybe something like this:

or

I also like these but I'm unsure how nice it would actually look with my band.

I'd love suggestions from everyone on what would look nice with my band! :)

If it were me ... I'd probably got with a very plain straight band. I know it is a very safe option - but a plain band never goes a miss and you can get another fancy band to stack for an anniversary. I also think a plain band would help the details on your e-ring stand out more.

I think you're right. I love the ornate detail on my engagement ring and want my wedding band to complement it, not distract from it or over complicate the whole look!

My fiance and I plan to visit a few local jewellers so I can try on bands with my ring and get a better idea of how different styles would look. I do think going with a plain band would be the way to go.

I've also considered going with a purely metal wedding band with milgrain along the edges to match the detailing on my e-ring but plain other than that.

I'm so excited to start hunting for the perfect wedding band!

What a beautiful ring! You definitely don't want anything to distract from your e-ring, it's SO pretty. I think that it's a great idea to visit local stores and try on bands (vs trying to choose solely by pics). If possible, it might also help if you could buy a couple of cheap imitation bands in a variety of styles just so you can "live" with them for a while and see how you feel over time (vs slipping them on and off during a short visit at the jewelers). Just an idea that's helped me in the past. Congratulations and I'm looking forward to seeing what you ultimately choose!

Riesz,

1st post here so sorry if its in the wrong place :)

Let me start off by saying that your engagement ring is absolutely beautiful and unique! I really like the vintage marquise and little flowers that are created with the diamonds. I'm planning on proposing and getting engaged later this month down in Cancun and I have decided that this setting is the one I'm going with so thank you for the detailed post and photos! I have looked at literally 1000's of different settings and styles and your setting is what I seems to keep coming back to every day to look at and view the Gabriel and Co. site photos and 3D video. Did you design this setting from scratch and then Gabriel and Co. came out with this setting? I have a jeweler digitally designing the ring now with some larger round diamonds in the marquise and flowers and small mods. The 3D CAD video will be done by this weekend and the finished product should be done in 2 weeks once I give the green light to start making it. Can't wait!!

I know you're shopping wedding bands now and I'm sure you'll find something beautiful to compliment your ring. I have decided to go with the matching band but instead of diamonds in the marquise I'm going with her December gemstone Tanzanite. It's a deep blue/purple stone and should shine and look beautiful! I'm still going to do diamonds for the flowers so there will be some matching stones. I figured I'd mix it up with some color because I didn't want it to look identical to the engagement ring. Have you thought about doing a band with a combination of birthstone and diamonds? I have attached a link to a similar setting with an aquamarine stone in the marquises to kind of get an idea of what it would look like.

Anyways, Sorry for the long winded reply and thank you again for posting your journey so far. Good luck to you and your future husband! I had noooo idea there was so much involved in picking out a ring?? Give yourself kudos for knowing that you helped some guy out in CA find a beautiful and amazing ring for his future wife to be!!

Sincerely,

HBL

P.S. after writing all this I just hope my GF isn't on this site everyday like I am and realizes that this is me because I'm trying to keep it all a surprise till we get down there!! :o

Thank you for the very nice message! My ring is a stock design from Gabriel and I didn't customize it at all.

Here's the link to my ring on Gabriel and Co's website: http://www.gabrielny.com/engaged/style/ER5651PT4JJ

I don't have a local jeweller who stocks Gabriel so I ordered mine online through IDJ. It took 2 weeks for my ring to be made from scratch in my size in the stock design.

I hope your future fiancee loves the design of the ring as much as I do!

Best of luck and happiness to you :)

Congratulations!! I really love your ring. It's beautiful, and unique and looks wonderful with your stone.

This is just perfect!!!!!

Gorgeous and delicate ring, and beautiful, hand model hands! A perfect pair.

Exactly what I was thinking  !

It's very pretty. Are you happy that you picked platinum? Now that you have had it for a little while do you think you would have been fine if you went with 14K white gold?

(sorry I should have posted this on your other thread regarding which metal you should use)

@ luvsdmb

I wasn't the original poster but I did get this identical setting made for my fiancee and was on this thread quite a bit before selecting this setting. I asked my jeweler if I should go with platinum or white gold and he recommended white golf because it won't nick as easy and will stay shiny longer vs. platinum which does turn to a duller silver look over time? He could of easily up sold me to platinum but I appreciated his honesty and what would look best, especially with this setting! The ring and band turned out amazing and my fiancee absolutely loves her ring!

Good luck with your ring shopping!

So pretty and romantic! Congrats!
