I have been following the diamond boards for about 4 years now. I have read and read..I have seen the 8*, and HOF, and any number of branded stones. I am grateful for the education I have received about diamonds. But once I have learned..looked at stones with inclusions, and perfect..My opinion is this..My eye is better. I can now tell the difference in colors..I can at times see a inclusion..Saw a 3 carat pear about a year ago..It was a e or so..I found the inclusion..It didn''t matter..that stone had fire. I don''t need to know what certification it is, or isn''t to like a diamond, or not. I have seen Gabi Tolowslky''s fancy cuts..gosh they are AWESOME. I saw a round, with cut off edges..I forget what he calls the shape..It was a I in color..it was warm, and it sparkled..it was wonderful. The lady at the store I was at said that Gabi says, all diamonds have something to offer. Where I do think the certification is important is with people who are still learning and not familar with what they are looking at. I don''t think someone should walk away from a I stone because it is a I, nor do I think someone should buy a E because it is a E. Consumers..people looking..Look at bad diamonds (maul stores) then go to small stores, and ect..It is how the stone is cut, not the color persay..I had the chance at two different marquises when I choose this one. The one I choose was cheaper by 1000.00. The more expensive stone was a E..and bigger. The problem was it was more of a football shaped marquise...this one to MY eye was prettier.
On Shape, and the choice of Gold, or platinum, gaps in the ring, set up high, or a lower set..IT IS A PERSONAL CHOICE. Styles change...I think someday platinum will be a sign of the late ninties, and early 2000''ss. Do not get something that is trendy because it is trendy. Get it because you like it.
I''m not sure I will wear my marquise forever...Maybe I will change. To me, they are classy...I wear what I like for me.. But remember..try lots on..Sometimes when you put a ring on your hand..it looks different.
