Hello,
I would like you to review my gems and or photos and if anyone has any advice on how to take a better photo it would much be appreciated.

So far the Sapphires and Fancy Sapphires have been coming out well , spinel and tourmaline are also photographing well.

Attached are B.Sapphire, Fancy Sapphire Reddish Orange, Fancy Sapphire 'Rose' Colour, Pinkish Red Spinel .

However when it comes to rubies using the same technique as used with the previous gems , look what happens ! :angry fire:

One photo without maglite and another with, however with the maglite Im getting all sorts of problems with shadows and reflections, does anyone know how to take good ruby photos ? they seem the hardest to take and I'm not sure why

Thank you Chrono

I was also wondering how to prop up a gemstone to get it at a perpendicular angle to the camera.
I a minisucle amount of blue tack to prop the stones up however it completely changed the optics of the gems i was photographing and caused them to turn much darker.
