I’m finalizing my plans and hope to have her sent out this week! I am, however, second-guessing my metal choice. I was set on platinum for a classic look, but then I put her next to 14 karat yellow, and I feel like she sang. I then set her next to my original 14 karat rose gold wedding set and I’m absolutely loving that combo.

I have started to use Rose Gold in the bezel setting for the main stone for CSs with green tones to bring out the green, if you know what I mean.

However, a bezel will show more gold face up whereas prongs and claws won't, if you know what I mean.

If I were to set it in #3 with a full bezel for the Aqua, then I would definitely use RG, for the rest to be white metal.

I did not use RG for my own Aqua from Jeff W as I had a pair of pale pink step cut Morganites cut by him to contrast and bring out the green in the Aqua. The Morganite traps cost more than the Aqua as they were billed as 2 individual custom cut stones and not as one job lot!

Count me amongst the legion that prefers AQUA colored aquas! They're typically heated to drive away the green hues and produce a purer blue. To which I say boooo! I do love the deeper tones though.

This stone is stunning, my friend!! I'm boring, so I might keep it all icy and such with a white metal. But the rose gold does look rather enchanting!

I decided to revert back to my original idea and go with platinum. It looks amazing in rose gold but it just isn’t what I’m going for. I want it to be a very classic piece. If I was going for something more modern I would have done rose gold.
