I had posted a thread sometime last year about my search for my perfect emerald cut aquamarine. After much debate and research, I came to the conclusion that I would never be happy with a commercially cut emerald cut so I commissioned a stone with Jeff white. My taste in aquas differs a bit from the norm. I wanted something on the lighter side with strong green tones. Think a pale seafoam. Jeff had the perfect rough that he estimated to end up anywhere from 15-24 cts and better than eyeclean possibly flawless. The finished stone ended up at 16.98 CTs. I was hoping for around 20 but it’s honestly so perfect and already incredibly massive on my size 5.25 finger. The color is a gorgeous pale seafoam blue. It looks more green in my photos than it does in real life. It shifts a bit depending on the lighting. The stone did come out a bit more included than what I had anticipated per Jeff’s description. It has some tubes running through it that are typical of natural aquamarine but they are much more visible with my zoomed in camera than what they are with my naked eye. I captured them in some pictures but as you can see, they completely disappear in other pictures. The cut is absolutely incredible. The optics are 10/10 perfect. Jeff is a wizard! The overall shape of the stone is even better than I had anticipated. It has longer cut corners and high crown. I had planned on sending it to DK right away but I’m wondering if I should wait a bit given the fires. Anyways, I’ll post tons of pics and my ring ideas.

It’s beautiful. I too prefer the greenish tone. Going back in time, greenish blue was all the rage. These days it’s Santa Marie blue but to my eye that colour may as well be blue topaz! Looking forward to seeing it set.
My one has a window big enough to see the next suburb, but I love it anyway.IMG_2281.jpeg

I absolutely adore yours! The color is perfection. What metal is it sent in? At first glance, I thought it was yellow gold.

Wow, just wow! :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2:

Another fan of pale blue with green as in sea foam colour!

Adding mine in support of sea foam colour (apologies for the dirt underneath as it is eye clean), and I have the same view as @Bron357 about Santa Marie blue!

Mine was rough unseen - I said yes on the hoof as soon as Jeff described it as pale with green, over 6ct+ cut size and very affordable! :lol-2:

Took her outside. It’s cloudy here but it’s a Jeff White stone so it still looks great :lol-2:

Looks more blue in these pics!

I love yours so much! Mine looks very similar in color in poor lighting. It’s funny how shifty it is. Outside it appears much more blue, inside with shutters open I see very strong green tones, and currently in poor artificial inside lighting I see an icy pale color that shifts from blue to green.

The color! The cut! :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2:

I too like the first setting you posted the best.

(And I'm also wondering about the safety of sending things to LA right now :cry2:).

I’ve been wondering if it’s appropriate to ask. I have multiple things to send to him but I don’t want to be insensitive to the situation.

Wow that's amazing. My vote is for #3 followed by #2.

I love it! A gem you can really hold in your hand!

The inclusions seem pretty inoffensive to me -- I'd be delighted with the outcome. Love the light return, too!

We share the same love for that color Aqua! Congrats…. What a beautiful stone, I can’t wait to see how you set her!

I vote for #3 for setting, probably with longer baguettes.

I like the last setting best, and then #2 and #3 as an equal second

Congrats on your stone, amazing.
As for the setting the last one, the Art Deco, is exquisite :kiss2:
1 and 3 are also typical Art Deco and very nice but the last one is more special IMO

Gorgeous hall of mirrors in that stone. I vote art deco setting too.

It’s stunning! I can’t wait to see which setting you decide to go with.
