My Mother''s Whiteflash Birthday Present

My brothers and I had this cushion cut pendant made by Whiteflash for my mother''s 60th birthday next week. It is a 1.06 F VS2. I think the table was 63 and depth 68 but I can''t remember what the report said and its wrapped up now. We used white gold for the setting so it wouldn''t be so noticeable against the diamond and then did yelllow gold for the chain.

Hopefully she likes it - if not I guess I will keep and we''ll get her something she does like

Thanks everyone!!! It was very difficult trying to get some input from my mother without her getting too suspicious. We knew she liked the more rectangular diamonds like my radiant so this cushion''s l/w is 1.18. Other than that we just winged it and hope she will like it.

It''s her first diamond in over 20 years as she lost her pear shaped diamond out of her engagement ring and never had it replaced or bought any diamond jewelry since. I think my engagement and ring shopping last summer made her miss not having a diamond so we thought it would be nice to surprise her with one of her own for her big 60th birthday.

I really hope she does love it - hopefully I'll get some neck shots to post next week.

We decided to spend most of the money on the diamond and then get a simple setting. This way she has it to wear on her birthday but if she wants to change it to a halo or something else then she can help design it. I am not a big fan of yellow gold myself but I do think the necklace came out better than I thought it would - I was really worried it would look too two-toned with the prongs in white gold.
