Introducing my newest bling: A RHR made of 14K white gold with a GIA certified E VS2 VG 1c diamond with strong blue fluorescence. HCA score: 0.7 FIC with EX EX EX VG. It measures 6.41-6.44x3.94mm. Depth:61.2% Table: 56% Crown<: 36 Pavilion<: 40 While it was bought before I discovered this site, I had done some research online before shopping. I also discovered Pricescope before it went into production so basically I could have backed out but decided to keep my choice as I really was in love. Pictures do not do it justice!
The setting was copied from a ring given to me by my mother that did not fit and was in yellow gold, which I do not wear. Her diamond, a non certified 0.3c that was from her ER in 1951, has been placed in a custom 14K rose gold setting.
I know that most, if not all, of you would never shop in a MALL store but I think if you are patient and can find a jeweler who is cooperative, not scared of dealing with a knowledgeable consumer and has access to GIA or AGS stones, you can have success. Thanks to Peter at Maggie's in Chinook Centre in Calgary. I think my age makes me more comfortable dealing this way than on the internet. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge!
