I''ve been busy. My little girlie, like you, was sick for much of January. She''s on the mend now, are you? Other than illness it''s that bittersweet time of the basketball season when, if the team is doing well, playoffs are onnnnnngoing. AND baseball is underway. AND ballet. AND school projects. AND DH is taking a new very demanding position. AND lots of family in town. AND my Grandmother has been unwell...As has my mother. Oh the drama goes on and on. Bah, enough of that!

I see the beauty in your avatar. I can''t wait to see it finished. The color and shape are perfect!

What? That long? You''ve had that spinel for months now and it won''t be ready until May?

Finally! I hope your mother and grandmother get better soon. Are the renovations complete?

Thanks. Do you like tsavorites?

Thank you , Harriet. I''m glad to hear you are finally better. January and February were nasty months for viruses and secondary infections. Yes, the yard renovations are complete, but, now I''ve decided to *redecorate* a few rooms. I''m trying to talk DH into a baby grand. Today he told me to decide between jewelry or a piano..................

Yes, dahhhhling, I love tsavorites. I was looking for an emerald cut a month or so ago. I''m not loving them cut that way. I still think my current ering setting just yells for an oval tsavorite. Did you decide how to set yours? And your emerald? I can''t keep up with you and your gemstones!

The piano, of course.

I''m with you on emerald-cut tsavorites. How will you squish an oval into a pear-shaped setting? I do have a setting in mind. A friend came up with a gorgeous design, which I''ll be discussing with Leon. The emerald is on hold for now. I know, I know -- I''m bad with gemstones.

Piano - HA!

I have an oval ering now. Pear earrings.

Where are the pictures?!

Silly me. I''ve seen that. It would be lovely with an oval tsavorite.

Btw, am I imagining things or is that a pear you have in your avatar?

Tell your husband you''ve decided on something like this:
http://www.fazioli.com/eng/modello_f212.php then later you decide to ''settle'' on a nice M&H and some more jewelry...

LOL Elmo!

I think I''ll send him a link to a gorgeous antique Steinway...And then to Leon''s site! He can choose!

Harriet, nope, it''s my oval - there is a funky bezel set surprise diamond you are seeing in that angle. I''m surprised you can''t clearly see what it is with my stellar photography skills

I haven't shopped for an antique piano but I understand that finding one that truly sounds as good as it looks is harder than finding a great unheated ruby

, even if Steinway did the rebuild. Finding one will be a labor of love. What do I know but my gut feeling is that especially amongst the tier 1 instruments that the build quality is about as good now as it was 80-100 years ago. But I hate to think what the exchange rate drop has done to pricing for new German pianos though.
