I can't really capture the gorgeous green, but the color is a stunner! The other stones are a mint garnet and an oec diamond.

And now on to the "star", my star sapphire which I just adore in its new home! I love the hue of the 18k rose gold against the blue-violet of the star. And the translucency plus the sharp star just make me swoon!!

It is 2.72 ct, 7.7mm x 6.5mm, unheated and untreated in any way.

Here are pics indoors, some diffuse daylight

You can see how eager the star is to come out, even in diffuse indoor daylight. I really have to be in the shade for you not to see any of the star.

Here it is under a light, the star is much sharper as you might expect.

Those Sally pieces are to die for!! The star sapphire looks ethereal and almost like it is glowing, and the tsav really pops against the garnet and diamond and looks great on you.

Thanks! I'll try to take better photos of the opal tomorrow, I don't think my photos really do it any justice.

Ok...I lied.
I just wanted to try to show how very translucent the stone is.
You can actually see through the stone to the other prong (the dark line), it's fuzzy due to the rutile and distortion of the stone's shape.
And you can see the light of my monitor shining through it too, lol.

Thanks guys, I'm glad you don't think I take way too many photos, hehe.

I tried to get some better photos of the fire in the opal, it's hard to photograph...

Oh no!

My star sapphire is just a smidge loose. It's barely noticeable, but when I was cleaning my ring I noticed that there is a little lateral movement to the stone in the setting.

All the prongs look very secure and in tight contact with the cab, so I guess the 'wiggle' is due to the slightly imperfect shape of the stone's bottom? Do you usually get a little more wiggle with cabs compared to faceted stones? Should I send it all the way back to Sally to look at?
