Thank you MrsS! It''s close, I hope you like it. It''s higher than I originally envisioned... but we couldn''t really cut anything out that I was willing to let go of in terms of design... so I''m just hoping that I didn''t make the wrong decision in terms of how high it sits off my finger. Strange the little tiny details that plague us about these settings.

Hi Gypsy,

Thank you for asking. I am doing better. The antibiotics finally kicked in. I have a dinner to go to in San Francisco on Saturday. I so much want to be better by then and I should be.

Can''t wait to see pictures of your ring!!!!!!!!

Wednesday cannot come soon enough.

All this talk about Chai is making me want some. lol. And I don''t generally care for it.

Hmm... Evvie, you KNOW the GTG is the San Francisco Bay Area. Very lovely place to visit... see the sites, come to the GTG... I mean, really, you should maybe consider coming out. You just... maybe.

Linda, how are you feeling? I hope your bronchitis is easing a bit.

I hope risingsun and Harleigh are feeling better too.

John''s coming hope today. I''m happy.
Aww, you''re so sweet, Layla! I unfortunately feel worse today than I did yesterday as I was up all night with stuffiness, congestion and coughing, so I think whatever has bit me is in it for the long haul, and it''s feeling like it''s going to get worse before it gets better. Everyone at school kept telling me not to let my kids use my computer to take their Accelerated Reader Tests at my desk, but since that''s the only computer in the room, I didn''t even think about it! Arghhh! If I could just cut my head off, that''d be just great! I''m sure that would make everything ALL better!

I''m sorry to see you''re still waiting for your new sparklie, but it''s for such a good cause, and just think of all of the practice you''ll have had taking pictures, so that by the time it gets here, you''ll be a PRO!!! I''m looking forward to seeing it, and thanks again for thinking about me! You are so sweet, hon!

Thanks for your good wishes, Layla. Hope things are going well for you, too

Okay. Well. Neil had a deposition scheduled today so he unfortunately didn''t get more than a glance at it. He did email me to confirm and clear up a couple of things, and it looks like Ocean and I might have had a little communication break down regarding a couple of details. So, it''s pretty clear that the setting is going to have to go back to Ocean.
7.gif
. I''ve asked Neil to look at it comprehesively anyway before it goes back, which he won''t be able to do until Thursday most likely (deposition issues). He did say that it''s a pretty setting, and that the underwires are lovely.
4.gif

So... setting delayed indefinitely until I talk to Ocean. Sorry all.

Gypsy,

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NO!!! This is awful.. How frustrating for you. I hope it is cleared up fast!!!!

Linda

Oh, no, Gypsy!!!
6.gif
How disappointing!!! But you really need to see pictures before Neil sends it back.

(and P.S. Remind me never ever to have a setting custom made.)

Ohhh, Layla! I''m so sorry to hear that!

What on earth is wrong with it??? Please give us more details about what needs to be done!

I''m staying home from work tomorrow to try to get better and was looking forward to watching your thread like a hawk in hopes of some pictures...how sad that you won''t be getting it for awhile now. So sorry, my friend.

Stick with us, we''ll keep you entertained and hopefully help keep you from going crazy over this!

When do you think is the earliest you might get it?

This wait is *almost* as painful as waiting for my baby....The race is on Layla. I think you will win though. I cannot wait to see pics.

I agree with DS, i really do think you should at least see it b/f you send it back. you just never know. I''m really sorry though that it appears it''s not exactly as you expected.

I''d rather keep mum on the details for the time being and I hope you all understand that I''m not trying to create drama at all by doing that, rather just the opposite. I''m just being fair, as I see it. I am disspointed, but I''m also realistic... I knew that there might be a chance that little modifcations are needed, but I''m also sure the wait will be worthwhile. Neil did also mention that it''s very easy to mail it to me on the way to Ocean, but well, if it comes that I''ll just ask Neil to send me pictures. I don''t know when the earliest is that I might get it, as I haven''t talked to Ocean about it yet. Neil only had a few minutes to check in at the end of the day, so Ocean was out of her workshop. Plus it''s her birthday right around now, and I know her family was planning to take her away for it, and not allowing her to work (I''ve known that for a while), so it could be a little while till I hear from her, which is fine. It''s not matter of life, death or health after all, its a piece of jewelry, when all is said and done.

Perspective. And big girl pants.

NNNOOOOOOOOO! I haven''t been able to get on PS for a couple of days and was hoping there would be pics by now...

Good for you on keeping a positive attitude. I know the final product will be worth the wait.

Aww, crap...does that mean the rest of us have to put our big girl pants on, too?

I''m proud of you for taking this so well...I know how much you were looking forward to receiving it. I''ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Good grief, all this and no pics? Can I give your patooty a whippin'' before you put on yer big girl pants?

Honestly, this doesn''t surprise me...and not for any sinister reason. Custom isn''t always easy, but I hope in this case it''s worth it!

I''m sorry there has been a delay. No more nagging, I promise
2.gif

Sorry to hear this Layla. We''ll be here once it''s finished. I do think you should see pics though, fore it''s sent back. Not asking for details, I understand where you are coming from.
2.gif

Awwww... sorry to hear there was a miscommunication. I hope it all gets fixed quickly and exactly as you want.

But I don''t WANNA put on my girl pants!!! (Throws herself on floor kicking and screaming!)

Sorry for whining...I really don''t feel well and I can see it''s showing!
23.gif

I''ll go look for my big girl pants right now, tho...good thing I don''t have to go out in public again until Thursday! I''ll try to wear them then just for you!

Harleigh,

Are you on antibiotics? Sounds like you have the same junk I do. Mine went into bronchitis.

Gypsy: I agree with Lisa/Kaleigh about seeing pictures before sending it back...

Linda

IMHO as a client of a custom project you''re *obligated* to view it in person ... in your own hands, before requesting further work on it (even if you believe there was a mistake made on the part of the artist).

You''ve hired a middle-man, that''s fine ... a professional opinion is nice as well ... but there''s no substitute for touching/feeling etc.

Hi Linda,

Nope, I''m in denial! Mine has been a ton of stuffiness in my head and sinuses, a stuffy, runny nose (at the same time!??!
14.gif
) and a horrible earache in both ears, which are also plugged.

I have been coughing quite a bit the past two days and finally just took some cough syrup with codeine that I had left over from my last bout with bronchitis last year. The cough I had from that lasted over 6 months, I think...it was unbelievable. I''m so sorry you''ve got bronchitis...I wouldn''t wish that on my worst enemy!
38.gif

My throat feels almost as bad as when I got my tonsils and adenoids out about 10 years ago...which means it is completely raw from coughing and I cannot swallow and now I have no voice left at all... Last night my mom called, and when I tried to answer, asked me if I was going for the "menopausal smoker''s voice" (only after asking if it was really ME on the phone!) To get my kids'' attention at school today I had to ring a bell to get them quiet, and then I had to whisper to a child to give the instructions...what a day that was! I am really looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow...after 2 nights of no sleep, I''m hoping I pass out! Thanks for checking on me, and I hope you''re feeling better for your dinner in SF Saturday night!
36.gif

Sorry for the threadjack, Layla!
17.gif

Hope you don''t have strep throat!!! That is going around here.

OK everyone, how about a nice cup of hot tea. I just ordered some great flavors from the Stash Tea website.

Linda

Nope, no spots in my throat! I''m a pro with that one after getting it so often! (Why do you think they yanked my darn tonsils out??? Couldn''t NOT get strep throat!
9.gif
)

And I''ve already got my Mystic Spiced Chai Tea sitting right here next to me! Your talk about your Chai tea reminded me to go dig it out of the cupboard. It''s the only thing I can taste right now, so thanks for the memory jogging!

Cheers to all!

Oh no! All you poor ladies, it''s no fun being sick...I do hope you all feel better quickly!

Gypsy, I can''t believe there''s another hold up! As mentioned before, that''s pretty typical when it comes to custom pieces - of COURSE there would have to be one more glitch!

I''m sure it will be stunning, whenever it may make it home to you!

Geez....I''ve been MIA for a bit, come back, see your ring is done, ready to give you a big RIGHT ON, only to read on the last page there''s a snag! How disappointing. But you know, I love your attitude about it. I have not known one person that had anything custom made that there wasnt some form of something that didnt quite go right. I go into custom projects thinking...ok..somethings gonna go wrong, just hope it doesnt give me brain damage. LOL

Gonna keep checking the post though for an update. :-)

Judy
:-)

Harleigh I hope you start improving... and QUICK!

Deco... careful about those assumptions hon, you know what they say about assuming!

I''m a little too excited. It''s wednesday. Where is the BLING??????

aw man, and i was so looking forward to wearing a dress today. phlllttt, my big girl pants are feeling a little too loose..... waaaahhhh

i''ve said it before, and i''ll say it again, you''ve got nerves of steel! and a great attitude,
