I had already tried Tianyu moissanite loose, but recently decided to jump on the custom order band wagon with Tianyu! I always wanted an Art Deco piece with a sapphire halo, but between the cost of the ring mount, finding the right stone, and other pretties coming my way, it just never happened. With so many ladies here being happy with their Tianyu rings, I felt like it was now or never!
This ring was my initial inspiration:

After many emails back and forth, and a desperate attempt to describe milgrain, I received my CAD pictures.

I was apprehensive upon receiving them... I explained the milgrain was too chunky, and verified that we were on the same page regarding the stone cut- it’s not exactly easy to switch gems in a bezel setting. My rep was very nice, and assured me she would do everything possible to explain what I want to the jeweler. Since my money was already sent (via Paypal), I told them to proceed with making the ring. My expectations weren’t super high at that point.
While I was on vacation this week, my ring arrived. It was waiting when I got home, and though I wasn’t as stoked as the rush I got when starting the project, it was certainly the first piece of mail I opened.
Kudos to them for stepping up the packaging! While the box was a little cheap (the lid is loose), the bow was a nice touch and the effort was there!

Time to tear open the ring! I was pleasantly surprised; The moissanite was lovely, with qulity facets. The detail on the side of the ring and closed gallery were well excuted. The profile was nice and low like I prefer, and the ring is extremely comfortable to wear!

I’ll try to grab some more pictures tomorrow.
Overall, it was a good experience. I had a great rep who did an excellent job, considering the language barrier, of keeping me informed during the entire process. The ring was very reasonable in terms of cost, and I was covered by Paypal if things went really wrong. It’s better than I expected, although I can see a few spots that could have been done a little better- tidy up the bezel, there is a small area in the milgrain that looks a little crowded, and yes, I still think the milgrain could be finer!). That being said, I worth it was more than worth what I paid, and I will proudly sport it until something else catches my eye :Up_to_something2:

It's beautiful. I love the shank.

I think it looks great, congrats! You are definitely going to get lots of enjoyment out of it, and wear it happily!

It's beautiful! I absolutely adore sapphire target rings. :kiss2:

I agree with you about the milgrain. They just did a French cut band for me with milgrain and it certainly is chunkier than the lovely milgrain on my DK rings. Difference being, though, that DK (and all the other big names like CvB, JyB, Victor, Leon, Single Stone, etc, etc) do their milgrain by hand under a microscope, so it is fine as fine can be. Tianyu does the milgrain as part of the casting process, and as long as that is how they do it, it will always be on the chunky side. You can get the milgrain polished down a bit, so keep that in mind as an option if it continues to bug ya. =)2

Looks gorgeous!

Good feedback and pics, thank you!
I am planning to use them to set my synthetic Emerald from Jeff White in a ballerina halo setting with Moissanite, as I cannot justify the expense for a diamond equivalent.
Good job I do not like millgrain!
DK

Oooh. I was eyeing up this exact inspiration ring lol. I love the outcome!

Thanks for all the comments- I caught another picture of it today looking super sparkly at Barnes and Noble. For the record, this is about the most comfortable ring I’ve ever worn! Fits beautifully, and so low it doesn’t catch on anything!

Very very pretty!!!! :) Congratulations!!

That's really lovely and looks super comfortable as well as glam!
Would it be terribly rude to ask what you paid all up?

Oooh, love this ring, beautiful!

It’s simply gorgeous!

Oh wow, this is so pretty!:kiss2: I have seriously been considering getting a target ring similar to this but done in Emeralds instead as that is my birthstone. Thanks for posting this!:saint: Glad you are pleasantly pleased with it, It's a gorgeous piece! I like how this one sits up enough to allow a curved band nestled next to it if you wanted.;)2

Looks lovely! Now it makes me want to ask them for a round version...
