One more hand shot, then off to bed..."Optimizing" pictures is tiring work. Thanks again for all the feedback -- I can''t express how thrilled I am with the ring and how much I appreciate all the inspiration and information you all offer!

it goes really quick for me to optimize - what program do you use? I use paintshp pro 7.0 (just had to look it up yesterday lol) and I just "select" the part I like, crop to selection, then SAVE AS (so as not to overwrite the original) in a .jpg format that I have preset to be medium quality so the pics can be 700mpx and not hugeo file sizes. In fact sometimes I''m even lazier than that... I just view my pics in ACDSee (my FAV FAV FAV photo viewer) and I can select there and then copy/paste into paintshop.

Anyway.... I love these!! Can you see the pav/culet of your diamond through the bottom? Is it all open under there or are there support bars? And we need more of the twisting branch sides!!! And of your diamond!! I''m not greedy ;)

That is an amazing setting, and the diamond is beautiful, too. Congratulations!

Ok, the picture of the fish with the ring in his mouth has got to be my FAVORITE ring pic on this site!!!! Congrats on a gorgeous custom ring! To me, it feels very art nouveau! Love it!

Congratulations!

I really love how sculptural and artistic the setting is without taking away any attention from the stone.

Sorry it took so long to respond -- I've been busy buying a house (ack!). It was a big week!!
I've been optimizing in Paint, unfortunately. I don't have any other graphics programs at home. It's not that hard, just annoying to have to do individually -- I use the Stretch/Skew and reduce by 50% on each side twice and then Save As and its fine.
You can see the pavilion and culet through the bottom. The only parts that touch the diamond are the prongs. There is no band around the diamond (something that was a specification of the design). The pieces connecting the prong sections are just for structural integrity, and don't touch the diamond. You can actually see the point of the diamond from some of the side angles from above.
With all the house madness I haven't had time to take more pics, but I'll work on it as soon as things settle down. I really want to try to get some good fire shots -- this thing throws off lots of color in a variety of different types of light. I still spend lots of time staring at it!!

Glad you all liked the fishy pic -- that was among my favorites!! I still need to get a pic of kitty with the ring on her collar...
