Manuals are boring, unlike the tax code.

Yes, but think about the end-beneficiary! You and all your PS pals or the Fed. Hmmm....no contest!

I think it is interesting too. hehehe

Skippy, I was away for a while - has the CPA exam happened yet?

Harriet, maybe if you tell us what kind of camera you are using, someone else will know that camera and can tell you how to use the macro function. It''s really easy - you are smart - you can do it!

The medium. Do you think the size is work-appropriate?

P.S. Are your dogs all waiting for treats in your avatar?

Harriet, if the small were not work appropriate and you seem so concerned with the image you are projecting, I would just say these are not work earrings. You have studs and I would not be marching into work while saying I want to stay below the radar and be wearing earrings that are clearly dressy and blingy...just mho, but that is not a way to be subtle. Enjoy them out of work when you and your guy go out in NY...

What in the world is a macro function?

It's a Konica Minolta Dimage. Do you know it? I'm a physical dodo! Oh, and I can't find the charger. Maybe the dog ate it.

Harriet! Your acquaintance wanted to swing by and compliment you on your beautiful earrings once more!

Once we are on the "pal" basis, I may be able to give you a tip or two on taking better photos!!

Kohdy, dear Kohdy, I hope I didn''t hurt your feelings!

Hey, I looked up your camera, it has the macro function. . . try to find the owners manual to use it. Then you can take FAB pics.

Harriet, you had better follow that dog around and get it back!!!! The natives here will not rest until their need for photos is satisified...PS the camera should have a macro function, it looks like a flower. You can look up in the manual if it indeed has that option, most newer good cameras do...

Will someone please tell me what a macro function is?
33.gif

It''s the ''flower'' button on your camera. Push it, turn off the flash (make sure to have adequate natural light) and take MORE pics!

There''s no flower button, I swear.

Hand on my heart Harriet I meant every word. Now off you go and look for:
1. Charger
2. Instruction Manual
3.DF to photograph your beautiful Harry Winston earrings[ on your ears!:)]

What the H kind of digi camera do you have? You''re not still using that cell phone? *tapping foot with hand on hips in my very mommy like way*

My camera doesn''t have a ''flower button'' per se, but there is a button that when pushed once, causes a flower (tulip?) to appear when looking throught the view finder. If I push the same button again, a mountaintop icon appears in the viewfinder(long distance, landscape shots?). Pushed again, it goes back to original setting.

Keep trying!

Harriet I checked out your camera. There are many different models but it''s a good camera. Look at this graphic:

http://ca.konicaminolta.com/products/consumer/digital_camera/dimage/dimage-z3/09.html

It has a schematic pointing out the macro button. This may not be your exact model, but should help. You use macro to shorten the focus range so you can take ultra close ups. Basically every picture you see here on PS is shot with a macro function being used.

Good luck.

I''m using the cell phone till I find the charger and manual. Are you really a mommy? Your hands look very young.

Solution -- I have a friend who works in photography. I''ll ask him to take pics. Even when I find the charger, manual, figure out the macro thingy, his pics will still be better than mine. Patience, my dears.

But seriously, you are going to HAVE to learn this camera. I mean, it''s not like this is your last purchase. There will be others, that need to be photographed.....

Get the "picture"??
