Here''s an update from this previous thread. I had Whiteflash make an 18K white gold east/west pendant and I love it. More importantly, my DF loves it and said it was the perfect gift for the birth of our daughter!! Now for the pics! First, the one that Whiteflash sent me.

Another neck shot (the lens was steamy because it was HOT outside, but still a decent shot!)

That is one beautiful necklace. Love the color of the spinel!!!! It looks beautiful on your neck. What a lovely way to celebrate the birth of your daughter

What a gorgeous pendant and perfect present for celebrating the birth of your daughter! Congrats! I love the pink color and the thin bezel setting! It looks great on you!

it''s lovely! yummy pink for your new little girl. congrats!

one question about the setting- it seems like the culet of the stone advances quite a bit past the bezel. does the stone poke her? how does it sit?

That was a lovely necklace!
And congratulations, both for the daughter and for such a nice peice of jewelery!

Very very nice. I like it alot.

It''s beautiful! Love that concave cut, and what a perfect setting. I was also wondering about the comfort level?

Beautiful!!!

And I''m yet another person wondering if the culet is "pokey!"

mikeyg1, if you happen to see this post, I''m curious - did Richard Homer ship the stone directly to Whiteflash?
Or did you need to get the stone appraised before sending it to Whiteflash?
(I''m also trying to work with both Richard Homer and Whiteflash.)

The stone sits perfectly and the stone does not poke her. She can only feel the cutlet if it is physically pressed up against her. She says she doesn''t even notice the open back.

I had Richard send the stone to me. I originally intended on having it set here by a local jeweler, but was unimpressed with some quotes. So I contacted Lesley at Whiteflash and sent them the stone. I did not have the stone appraised before either. Whiteflash sent an appraisal with finished product. Don''t hesitate to work with either Richard or Whiteflash! The customer service was top notch from both. I''ll definitely be doing business with both in the future!

Thanks so much for the info!
I hope my ring turns out as beautifully as your pendant!!

It is soooooo beautiful!

Very pretty. I love pink spinels.

Just wanted to say that is a beautiful necklace. Love that color of pink, so flattering.

I I have a similar necklace from whiteflash. Even if the culet is exposed it is very comfortable to wear; a stone of that size is light enough it just rests on the skin.
