Need Help Between Deciding b/w 2 Diamonds

Hi guys! I am new to picking out diamonds and have done a lot of research in general and on this forum. Found and ordered two diamonds both within the range of the most ideal cut (table, depth, crown angle, pavilion angle). One is HPHT and the other is CVD.

The HPHT is twice the price, but the reason I'm considering it is because I see straining/graining in the CVD. I was hoping to get some help comparing these two videos to see which diamond is the better option. I will also evaluate in person when I receive them and return one.

CVD (VVS2, F): https://loupe360.com/diamond/LG6604...00002222-6666-47fe-b03d-8888d503f8e9&type=csv

HPHT (VVS1, E, Hearts&Arrows on IGI Cert): https://www.medialink.email/v1/admin/diamonds/107040245/non_orbit

I would really appreciate any advice, thank you so much in advance!

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, john_kcs!
The HPHT diamond has much better material/crystal quality - I can see graining with the first diamond.
The optics look just a touch off with the first one, as well...but that could be environmental during photography.
Between these two, I'd opt for the HPHT diamond with the Hearts and Arrows designation.

Appreciate your advice and thanks for the warm welcome @DejaWiz !

I just got the HPHT today and its nice, but I'm a little underwhelmed, can't see the arrows clearly no matter what angle or lighting I look at it in. I feel like there are other stones with clearer hearts and arrows without the IGI cert (guessing they just didn't pay to get it done).

I'm going to continue to look for HPHT diamonds. Any thoughts on this one? The table and crown angle are pushing the edge at 58% and 34.9% respectively. I noticed some white specs in the diamond. Could be inclusions not on the report or maybe just dust but that concerned me. Those arrows look soooo good though.

The arrows patterning presents when forced contrast is at play: with a Hearts and Arrows scope, Ideal-Scope, or ASET Scope.

Definitely a no to that one - the pavilion is cut unevenly and is causing some negative impact to the optics.

Thanks again! I was too harsh with the first HPHT stone off the bat. After a good polish, viewing in various lighting, and getting some more in person opinions I'm much more confident in it. It's sparkling nicely! If anyone is interested in seeing it I can post a video. Pretty sure I'm gonna set it.

Anything wrong with these two diamonds? (in comparison the the first HPHT)

Diamond 1

Diamond 2

First one is definitely a blue nuance.
Second one looks great...snatch it up before someone else does as the holiday buying rush continues to ramp up.

Ordered the second one! You're the real MVP DejaWiz. Appreciate you taking the time to help out clueless people like me :mrgreen2: - thanks a ton!
