Hi everyone! I am a first time buyer and would love some assistance determining if this 1.34 carat D VS1 diamond would be ideal for an engagement ring with petal prongs. I am happy with the specs of the diamond but the HCA score is 0.6. Can someone explain why an HCA score under 1.0 may look better in a pendant? Is there a reason this stone does not have a H&A distinction?
How much of a risk would I be taking purchasing this stone without using an asset scope? Would it be more prudent to go with one of the GCAL 8x below if I am unable to view the stone in person/get asset scope pictures from Ritani? I am curious about the brilliance when comparing these stones. They both have an EX rating using the HCA calculator.
I would also love more suggestions for ideal/super ideal cut diamonds within the 1.2-1.36 carat, VS2+, DEF range if there are cut issues with the stones above.
Thank you so much!
