Need help deciding between two GCAL 8x Lab Rounds for Tulip Setting

lol, how would you go about narrowing this list down to those you call “pristine”

I check each one for:

- the proportions and angles on the report
- the quality of the crystal material that the diamond is cut and polished from
- look for any obvious issues with the finer details of cut precision, such as pavilion twist, over-obstruction, paddling, etc that is evident enough to be determined without advanced images (ASET, Ideal-Scope, 3D scan results)

Wow, I’m not even sure what to look for, i was hoping that possibly I’d be getting a handful of “pristine” diamonds to look at from you, guess i was wrong, sorry and apologize if I had asked for something not available. I just wanted some help from an expert. Thank you

Wow. This post comes across like a tantrum and a guilt trip.
I *AM* trying to help you...I was recommending that you go through many of the diamonds in the link that I provided, make a list of the options that caught your eye, then we'd go through them to ensure that they offer a better value than the 3.03 that you already have on hold. This would also serve as a fantastic learning opportunity for you since this is a consumer-driven learning-centric forum.

You've been here since 2019, Sunshine812 - my apology for assuming that you required a higher level of assistance to pick some diamonds for comparison.

If you would still like help, that's what I'm here for donating my own time without asking anything in return....I'm not a jeweler or an affiliate to any, so I'm not making so much as a penny and my time and efforts here are purely Gratis. :)

I am sooo sorry my message came off like that! Please accept my apology.
I was overwhelmed with the list and did not know where to start. Yes, I should be more educated on diamonds, but ever since I retired, I cannot remember anything, I write everything down, then to not even be able to find where I wrote it, sorry I am babbling. No excuse.
I thank you for the time you spent with me in choosing a diamond and recommending where to purchase one. I really do. You have been very supportive, again I apologize.
I have seen you respond to some people and help them find a diamond and I have seen the pictures of the diamonds you choose for them, they ultimately choose the diamond, but you know what I mean, it was your expertise.
I was afraid because I gave you a size and amount that I might be limiting myself, so that is why I asked you for help, again. I have used the info you gave me and I get a list of inventory and the prices fluctuate from $2000 to $10K for IF’s. So what makes a diamond of same parameters be so different in price?
Again, I’m very sorry if I came off like a “B”. I really didn’t mean to.

@Sunshine812 these are all great options, and most are below $2500 at LooseGrownDiamond...they may be available from other sellers like Adiamor, Brilliance, Ritani, DreamStone, etc so ask for a price match if you'd rather buy from one of them.
The first one is an IGI graded option but looks to be extremely well cut with high optics. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of them.

Thank you! Do you think they are better or all the same as 3.03 above? If you did the calculations, which one would you lean towards? 3.25?

the 3.03 is 9.27mm compared to the 3.25 at 9.53mm, so you'd probably be able to see the size difference, especially if they were sitting side by side.
Both D VVS2 graded by GIA.

3.25 = $686 per carat
3.03 = $837 per carat

I think there's a crystal clear winner here. :)

I sure hope it was #1?

I'd recommend the 3.25 for the slightly bigger diameter and the better price per carat, especially since they are both GIA graded D VVS2 clean HPHT diamonds with awesome optics.

Yay! I purchased the diamond. Thank you very much!! I so appreciate your time and expertise! Now the setting, any recommendations for a solitaire setting?

Hello, guess what? Even though I purchased the diamond last night, they just emailed me to tell me the “manufacture” sold it. There must have been a lurker! They sent me one they say is identical, but once again I need your help, please. How can I provide the info so that no one snags this one too?

You can post the grading report number right now if you are on the forum, then I will acknowledge that I'm looking at the diamond and then you can edit the post and delete the grading report number.

They said it was identical, but i noticed not as big, 9.53.

9.48 vs 9.53 isn't going to be discernable since it's only a 0.05mm difference.

This one is hard for me to fully give a thumbs up to due to potential pavilion twist, but it's also probably a little off-center in front of the camera which can also skew the appearance.
If you live in an area where returning it would be easy just in case, then it might be worth laying your own eyes on.

Thank you for looking, I do not live in a place that is easy to return. Yesterday you picked 5-6 diamonds that you gave thumbs up too. Should I re-look those? Any of them stand out to you more? Or is there any others out there? Thanks so much!

Definitely take another look at the list I posted...any of those will put a grin on your face :D

I've got more for your list of possibilities, Sunshine812 - check LooseGrownDiamond for pricing.
Any of these would also be a mesmerizing diamond to look at.

I have one more for you that it quite hypnotizing in the 360 spinny video...it'll push towards your budget cap a bit. Let me know when you're here so that I can post the link, then delete it at your request.
