I need some ideas! I have .40 carat, I color, ideal cut round diamond, uncertified. It was recently recut by Bill Bray.

I initially wanted to put it in a 5 stone anniversary band and have slightly smaller stones on each side, like .3 and .25.

I’ve considered a pendant bit I fear I’m too rough and would break the chain and loose it. And the pre-made settings seem to take a .5 and larger stone.

It’s a sentimental stone and that’s why I want to use it but will an uncertified stone be a problem to get set?

Any suggestions on who might be good to create a custom ring (or whatever) and be willing to work with an uncertified stone?

Any ideas on what to do with this nice modest-sized diamond?

Oh that''s pretty but I think it already comes with a stone.

I absolutely love the WF version of the tiffany etoile. It has that clean lines but substantial look to it.

A 3 stone ring with either sapphires or rubies would be nice. I just love the reds and blues.

Sorry I didn''t clarify...I had meant that you could have something like that custom made with your stone.

How nice that you now have an ideal cut to work with!

Hi Swingirl!

Have you considered halo''ing the stone? I''ve always thought that stones around the .5 carat weight are ideal for halo''s. (Leon! Leon!)

If I ever had an ideal cut stone like yours just laying around, I''d do a SweetVioletBlue (her screen name might be trinket08 now, not sure). I ADORE her ring and always have. Something about putting a round stone in a differently shaped head just does it for me. Unexpected and also kind of vintage. Someday, I WILL re-set my original e-ring stone into this setting! I believe it''s by MK Diamonds. (http://www.mkdandj.com/)

Thank you for your responses...keep ‘em comin’. I love the feedback. You are all so full of good ideas.

lisaC--how do I look up the tiffany etoile on the WF website?

Gothgirl--nice idea. I didn’t think of mixing it with some colored stones.

wallermama--Ohhh. I get it. I could do that but I am not much of a bangle wearer...although I LOVE WF tennis bracelets!

KristyDarling--Wow! That halo is beautiful. I love the vintage look. And speaking of Leon...he is in possession of my asscher. It’ll be a few weeks so I have to be patient and not think about it too much. But I did think of him for a little custom something-the-other...I’m just not sure what since this small round would be a right-hand ring. (if it becomes a ring)

Have you considered a split shank?

I love split shanks but my stone has a small spread and I probably wouldn''t get much "split". Although I could do a split shank AND a halo!

When you look up their solitaire e-rings it''s on the 3rd page last ring.

It sounds like halo is the way to go for a stone this size. I really do like the bezel pendant but it says it''s for .5 ct stone. I wonder if they could do it with a smaller one. I don''t want anything to ering-looking becasue it will be a right hand ring and I have a nice ering solitare with a lot of pave. The halo pendant idea is looking better and better! But I wonder if WF would set an uncertified stone?

The tiffany etoile is very pretty, simple and elegant.

Thank you all for your input.

I think a bezel set would look very nice. I would call and ask Whiteflash if they could do something for you.

i''d ask wf about the solitaire bangle, they will piecemeal it if you buy a stone of theirs...aka it doesn''t have to come with a stone. but not sure if they are selling the bangle for a stone they didn''t sell. but worth an ask IMO. i love that bangle!

I like the pendant idea. You said this stone is sentimental...as a pendant you could wear it all the time.
